Does Karl Ravech even watch baseball that is played west of The Bronx? A 3-0 sweep?

Not bloody likely.

Dodged *that* bullet. It took us half a season to get over all the bad juju from leading their "power rankings"

Same commenters, same order in the last two threads. I now know at least two people less interested in starting the work week than I.

Yeah whatever.

I really think this situation is going to work out well for us. Even though we have the best record in the NL we are somehow viewed (nationally) as the underdogs. I think this will allow Joe to keep the club loose and good things will happen.

Looking back at the season series with the Cards, most of the losses were of the hard luck variety. Yes, Carp and Wainwright pitched very well, but we got to Wainwright late in L.A. (a little TOO late, but still...). Set aside Blake's error in the first game and the Bills meltdown in the second game and you can safely say that the Dodgers limited the Cardinals' offense.

And Neel is a Dodger guy, otherwise it probably would have been a sweep

I like how Steve Phillips is no longer on the list of "Experts"

Definitely seen as underdogs to the rest of the country. Fine. Let's prove it not to be the case. Also, it will shut my father-in-law up; he's already written the season off at this point. He's like the anti-Karina.

Mr. Obvious states: Just like last years' NLDS (and every NLDS the Dodgers have been in recently) wining game one is critical.

I wish I could make it to the NLDS games but no weekday games for me until the next round, although it is nice to open a series at home for the first time since 1996.

Leave it up to the Yankees to keep game 2's time on hold.

Jeff Weaver placed 8th in the Comeback Player of the Year voting.

He only got 2 second place votes, but I knew his performance this year would draw some attention.

This morning, Juan Vene (a baseball journalist i worship even in the rare case when i don't share his opinions) stated on his daily column that Joe Torre and Mike Scioscia should win the "Manager of the Year" awards, because the teams they lead should play the World Series.

Do you know which teams Juan Vene is paid to cover? Yankees and Mets, so i guess it's a good sign.

By the way, i felt hopeful when i read that.

I've got tickets for game 5 of this series. But if we sweep the Cardinals, I won't be mad. =)
