I'm sorry but I have to throw this post up for now.

Series Thread (Games 102-104): July 27-29 @ Giants

Tues 7/27: Urias vs. Webb
Wed 7/28: Buehler vs. DeSclafani
Thu 7/29: Price vs. Cueto

Two series ago, San Francisco came into town for a four-game series, and were one Will Smith walk-off HR away from a series sweep. This time, the Dodgers head up north hoping to whittle down a two-game divisional deficit. Mookie remains on the IL, Corey Seager isn't back yet, and our bullpen is still shaky. I'm not hopeful.

But let's give it one more try.

Series Thread (Games 95-98): July 19-22 vs. Giants

Mon 7/19: Gonsolin vs. Gausman
Tues 7/20: TBD vs. Alex Wood
Wed 7/21: Urias vs. Webb
Thu 7/22: Buehler vs. DeSclafani
all games 7p

It's an old-fashioned showdown in the West, except not against the team that we thought would be the challenger. San Francisco, not San Diego, sits one game up on the Dodgers, who closed the gap coming out of the All-Star break, but missed an opportunity to make it a tie atop the division when we fell in extra innings to Colorado, 6-5. (The Giants lost two of three to the Cardinals.)

Despite the Dodgers being without Clayton Kershaw (likely out until August with elbow inflammation) and Trevor Bauer (he who cannot be named), we match up okay in this series. We've just got to get through the first two games of this series.

Mathematically, we can't end up this series tied with the Giants. But we'll need to take at least three if we are to emerge with the NL West lead.

Series Thread (Games 90-92): July 16-18 @ Rockies

Fri 5.40p: Urias vs. C Gonzalez
Sat 5.10p: Buehler vs. C Gonzalez
Sun 12.10p: Price vs. Freeland

Either Friday or Saturday's Rockies starter is not correct.

But then, we don't have Bauer pitching either, so who's counting.

(Sorry, still on vacation)

Series Thread (Games 89-91): July 9-11 vs. Diamondbacks

Fri 7/9: TBD vs. Widener
Sat 7/10: Buehler vs. C Smith
Sun 7/11: Gonsolin vs. M Kelly

The Dodgers stumble into the All-Star Break having lost three of four to Mattingly's Marlins, so we didn't gain any ground against the Giants and we still sit a game back. Now here's one more series before the break (except for Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, and Chris Taylor), but with the Giants playing the sub-.500 Nationals, and us down to bullpen bullets in the gun, I'm not hoping for first place.

Series Thread (Games 85-88): July 5-8 @ Marlins

Mon 7/5: Buehler vs. Rogers
Tue 7/6: Gonsolin vs. P Lopez
Wed 7/7: Urias vs. TBD
Thu 7/8: Kershaw vs. Alcantara

Fresh off a sweep of the Nationals and streaking to their ninth win in a row, the Dodgers move on for one more foursome in Miami. And even with the administrative leave of Trevor Bauer, the Dodgers keep chugging along and are only a half-game out of first place in the NL West. Which is just amazing, given the injuries we've had, both accidental and self-inflicted.

This is all I've got for this GT, as the whole SoSG offices are shut down for the holiday. Let's go, Blue!

Series Thread (Games 81-84): July 1-4 @ Nationals

7/1 Thu 4p: Gonsolin Gonzalez vs. Corbin
7/2 Fri 4p: Urias vs. Scherzer
7/3 Sat 4.15p: Kershaw vs. Espino
7/4 Sun 8a: Bauer vs. J Ross

The Dodgers, fresh off a successful two-game win over the Giants, now head off for the first of two foursomes on the road. We've got three night-time soirees followed by a morning breakfast session. And with Los Angeles only 1.5 games behind the league-leading Giants, it's imperative that we get out there and be aggressive. Let's have some fireworks this weekend, Dodgers!
