looks like Cliff vs. Clayton in game two. i wonder how many times a playoff series has started with 4 lefties
Leaving Garland out of the roster? isn't his playoff experience worthy of a spot?
Apparently Kuroda was so impressive in AZ that he bumped Garland. I couldn't see Garland coming on in Game 4 if needed. . .or game 5 for that matter.
I whined about this before the NLDS and I'll say the same thing again: if it comes down to Weaver or Garland, we have to go with Weaver because of the versatility he gives us. The fact that we KNOW he can come in in middle innings and spell the SP for at least several innings cannot be overlooked. This was exactly what happened in NLDS Game 1. The brother is versatile and experienced. Garland is an unknown out of the pen since I don't believe he ever has appeared in relief. I have nothing against Garland at all, and wish there would be a spot for him, but if Hiro is on point, math (though math is hard!) just doesn't work out for Garland.
Math isn't that hard.
And I agree with you DB
