Game 39 Thread: May 9 vs. Braves, 6p

Blake Snell (has not pitched all frickin' year) vs. Spencer Strider (0-0, 8.10 after one game this year).

Blake Snell has earned about $9M from the Dodgers in this year alone, just by sitting on the couch for all of this ongoing 2026 season. The oft-injured pitcher was a valued asset down the stretch and in the postseason last year, sure, but it's pretty easy to be fresh for October when you only throw in 11 games during the regular season (Snell participated in only six games in the 2025 postseason, earning a winning decision in none of those games).

And this was only the first year of his five-year, $182M contract. Just think how many games Snell can miss for us over the full five-year term!

And yet, on the other side of the ledger is Spencer Strider, coming back from an oblique strain this year, after seeing limited action last year as well. Maybe Snell and Strider can hang out together on the couch and watch some television.

Game 38 Thread: May 8 vs. Braves, 7p

Emmet Sheehan (2-1, 5.23) vs. Chris Sale (6-1, 2.14).

The Braves lead the National League, thanks largely to the bats of Matt Olsen and breakout star Drake Baldwin. The Braves are the only NL team with a larger run differential, and unlike us and our miniscule one-game lead over the Padres, the Braves have an eight-game lead on the second-place (sub-.500) Nationals.

If there's any hope for the Dodgers in this series opener, it's that Chris Sale's worst start of the year came in a game in Anaheim, a 6-2 loss to the Angels where he lasted only 4.0 IP. Let's see if we can benefit again from Sale away.

Post-Game 37 Thread: Dodgers Prosper Off Three (from) Pages

DODGERS 12, CHEATERS 2

Astros starter Lance McCullers was beaten by a pair of blisters on his throwing hand, helping the Dodgers pounce on Houston for seven XBH, three of which were home runs from Andy Pages (who also made a great catch in center field late in the game). Awesome news for the Dodgers to actually win a series on the road for a change, giving us some momentum before a rest day Thursday and a series against the red-hot Braves this weekend at home.

Boy, I hate Houston.

Game 37 Thread: May 6 @ Cheaters, 11a

Lance and Cheaters go together.

Tyler Glasnow (3-0, 2.56) vs. Lance McCullers Jr. (2-2, 6.32).

Today could be a merciful end to a horrifically unproductive road trip: 2-3 record in the first five games, but only scoring more than four runs one time. But with the National League-leading Atlanta Braves waiting for us this weekend, it might be nice to have a little of momentum going into that series.

Post-Game 36 Thread: Evil Wins

CHEATERS 2, DODGERS 1

You see what happens when you try and extend a Game Thread theme into a second GT? Havoc ensues.

Anakin goes from awakening from a nightmare to descending into evil. And just like that, the Dodgers' bats shifted from a single promising game to reverting back to sleep in Houston, leaving starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani hung out to dry on two cheapie solo home runs, only notching one run from a Kyle Tucker RBI.

Teoscar Hernandez left at least 427 people on base today thanks to his 0-for-4, 2K night. And for the second game this season, Dave Roberts sent Santiago Espinal up to pinch hit, only to watch Espinal K on three straight pitches.

We need Mookie Betts back, fast. And if Hernandez is going to be as much of an offensive liability as he already is defensively, it's time for him to take a seat.

Game 36 Thread: May 5 @ Cheaters, 5p

Shohei Ohtani (2-1, 0.60) vs. Lambert (1-2, 3.52).

Just like Anakin, the bats woke up from their slumber on May the Fourth, a 8-3 win over the Astros in which the Dodgers had seven runs, and home runs by Alex Freeland and Kyle Tucker, in the first three frames.. That was more than enough to let Yoshinobu Yamamoto do his work (6.0 IP, 3 ER, 8 Ks and 1 BB), guiding the Dodgers to a comfortable victory.

Today, we've got Shohei Ohtani on the mound...and at the plate. Considering Ohtani hasn't had a hit in his last five games, let's see if he can focus on both sides of the game today. UPDATE: Doc Roberts changed his mind, and Ohtani won't hit today, after all.

Game 35 Thread: May 4 @ Cheaters, 5p

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (2-2, 2.87) vs. Steven Okert (0-0, 4.20).

I don't care if it's May the Fourth. Screw these dirty, evil cheaters.

Post-Game 34 Thread: The Dodgers Actually Won A Game

DODGERS 4, CARDINALS 1

The Dodgers dropped yet another series, but avoided losing their fifth in a row (and getting swept in St. Louis) by gutting out another fine performance from Justin Wrobleski (6.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 K, 1 BB), who is now 5-0 with a 1.25 ERA. Wrobleski doesn't get a lot of Ks, but he seems to get out of trouble well enough thanks to ground-ball pitching with men on.

Speaking of ground balls, the Dodgers hit into four double plays this game, and went 4-for-10 with RISP. We had just enough to notch four runs, but still missed a lot of opportunies for more.

Off to Houston for more cheating.

Game 34 Thread: May 3 @ Cardinals, 11.15a

Justin Wrobleski (4-0, 1.50) vs. Dustin May (3-2, 5.28).

Four straight losses for the Dodgers, and today we face a former Dodger who was traded in the middle of 2025 (and has since gone 4-6 for two teams, with an ERA over 5). I would not be surprised if Dustin May comes to play today for St. Louis.

Game 33 Thread: May 2 @ Cardinals, 4p

Sasaki vs McGreevy.

The Dodgers are currently fairly unwatchable, but if there was ever a game you should skip anyway, it is probably this one.

Friday, May 01, 2026

Game 32 Thread: May 1 @ Cardinals, 5.15p

Emmet Sheehan (2-0, 4.78) vs. Matthew Liberatore (0-1, 4.75).

The Dodgers' offense could probably use a priest, if not an outright confessional from some of its worst showings. I'd love it if the Cardinals could exorcise some of the bad habits and get us on the path back to righteous wins. This half-game lead in the NL West is making me very anxious.

Game 31 Thread: April 29 vs. Marlins, 12n

Tyler Glasnow (3-0, 2.45) vs. Sandy Alcantara (3-2, 3.05).

Rubber match against the Marlins, and it won't be an easy one; Sandy Alcantara, disastrous last year, looks like he's regained his ace form in 2026. Meanwhile, the Dodgers continue to be feast or famine offensively, with last night's debacle sporting 0-for-4s from Dalton Rushing, Max Muncy, Teoscar Hernandez, and Hyeseong Kim.

Hernandez' slump is the most concerning, as he's batting .235 on the year with a .701 OPS. Can a midday start help Teo get out of his funk? UPDATE 11.28a: Teoscar is sitting in place of Alex Call.

Tuesday, April 28, 2026

Game 30 Thread: April 28 vs. Marlins, 7p

Shohei Ohtani (2-0, 0.38) vs. Janson Junk (1-2, 3.67).

I can't imagine the bullying this poor opposing pitcher had to endure as a kid. But I hope the Dodgers aren't nice to him either, as we have a mere half-game lead in the NL West thanks to a mediocre 5-5 record over our last 10 games.

Luckily, we've got a pretty good guy on the mound for us tonight.

Post-Game 29 Thread: Fish Tuckered Out

DODGERS 5, MARLINS 4

With the Dodgers down 4-2 going into the bottom of the ninth, Andy Pages and Dalton Rushing walked; Shohei Ohtani hit a one-out ground rule double to trim the margin to a run; and then with two out, Kyle Tucker singled to center to score Rushing from third and Ohtani from second.

The Dodgers come back to win in improbable fashion, but at least Ohtani (3-for-5 with an RBI and 2 runs) is showing signs of life, and the bullpen regained form (Alex Vesia, Tanner Scott, Edgardo Henriquez, and Jake Eder (?) with scoreless innings each.

Eder gets the win. Tucker gets the heroics. The Dodgers get to stay in first place for another day.

Game 29 Thread: April 27 vs Marlins, 7p

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (2-2. 2.48) vs. Chris Paddack (0-4, 6.38).

Top Paddock was one of my favorite breakfast spots in Melbourne, and I used to frequent it regularly. Their coffees were exquisite and their breakfast offerings were the kind of fare that you would be proud presenting to visitors from out of town (and there were many!) who were looking to get acclimated to quality Mekbourne dining.

Anyway, I bring this all up because, I'm hoping we can Top Paddack today.

Game 28 Thread: April 26 vs. Cubs, 1p

Justin Wrobleski (3-0, 1.88) vs. Shota Imanaga (2-1, 2.17).

Rubber match in the series today, and the Dodgers send Wrobocop to the mound in a critical game. Let's do this.

Post-Game 27 Thread: Let The Roki Win

DODGERS 12, CUBS 4

Roki Sasaki's first win in the majors was on May 3, 2025. Almost a full year later, Sasaki got his second career win, despite yielding three home runs and four earned runs over his very inefficient 5.0 IP.

The Dodgers' fourth-inning eruption of six runs was enough to take the 8-4 lead, and this time, the Dodgers tacked on four more runs to ice the game and send both teams to play substitutes.

We'll take it. The Dodgers remain in second place in the NL West, a half-game behind the Padres.

Game 27 Thread: April 25 vs. Cubs, 4p

Roki Sasaki (0-2, 6.11) vs. Colin Rea (3-0, 3.00).

Lost in all of Craig Counsell's yipping about Shohei Ohtani's roster spot is the fact that Ohtani isn't playing much of a role as a hitter, batting .237 with a .794 WAR (yesterday, 0-for-3 with 3 Ks). Couple that with slumps from Teoscar Hernandez, Kyle Tucker, and Andy Pages, and the Dodgers are supremely screwed.

The bullpen let us down yesterday but the truth is, this team is reeling. When is Mookie back again?

Friday, April 24, 2026

Game 26 Thread: April 24 vs. Cubs, 7p

Emmet Sheehan (2-0, 5.85) vs. Jameson Taillon (1-1, 3.97).

The red-hot Cubs have won nine in a row, including a four-game sweep of the Phillies, and are in first place in the NL Central (tied with Cincinnati).

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are coming off a woeful 3-4 roadtrip, splitting the series with the lowly Rockies before limping to a mere series-salvaging victory in San Francisco Thursday. The Dodgers are tied with the Padres for the NL West lead.

At this rate, the trajectories of these two teams seem to be in opposite directions. Emmet Sheehan hasn't been sharp so far this year, so expect more of the same tonight.

Thursday, April 23, 2026

Game 25 Thread: April 23 @ Giants, 12.45p

Tyler Glasnow (2-0, 3.24) vs. Logan Webb (2-2, 5.10).

The Giants might be in fourth place in the NL West, but so far in this series, they might indeed be Giants.

San Francisco has held the Dodgers to one run across two games thanks to sterling starting pitching efforts from Landon Roupp and Tyler Mahle (who outpitched Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani). Sure, the Giants got a little bit of luck yesterday with a three-run HR from light-hitting Patrick Bailey.

But everything came crashing down for the Dodgers thanks to 0-fer nights from Ohtani, Kyle Tucker, Will Smith, Teoscar Herhandez, Andy Pages, and Hyeseong Kim: the Dodgers guaranteed a loss in this series, a loss on the road trip, and a loss of Ohtani's on-base streak at 53 games.

Today is another day. Maybe we can get a win and salvage a little bit of pride?

Wednesday, April 22, 2026

Game 24 Thread: April 22 @ Giants, 6.45p

Shohei Ohtani (2-0, 0.50) vs. Tyler Mahle (0-3, 7.23).

I had a feeling that last night's game, with the Dodgers' late arrival into San Francisco following the stupid fourth game of a weekend series, was going to wreak havoc on the team. But tonight, the Dodgers can re-assert themselves over the Giants by just trying to junk Mahle.

Ohtani is supposed to hit and pitch today, so we'll see if he can extend his on-base streak to 54 games, which would give him sole possession of second place (to Duke Snider's 58 consecutive games, in 1954).

Tuesday, April 21, 2026

Game 23 Thread: April 21 @ Giants, 6.45p

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (2-1, 2.10) vs. Brandon Roupp (3-1, 2.38).

Brandon Roupp is on fire (the Roupp! the Roupp!), with 24 Ks this year compared with the pedestrian 21 K from our own Yoshinobu Yamamoto. But the Giants are only a half-game out of the cellar in the NL West, thanks to a division-worst -21 run differential (not to mention a 3-7 home record this year, also the worst in the division).

The Dodgers had to play that stupid Monday late game in Colorado, further stacking odds against Los Angeles. The Giants had the day off to rest. At least we can take solace that it rained all day in SF.

Game 22 Thread: April 20 @ Rockies, 5.40p

Justin Wrobleski (2-0, 2.12) vs. Jose Quintana (0-1, 5.63).

Ugh, we lost the second and third games of this series. Let's try and salvage against the Rocks today, please?

Sunday, April 19, 2026

Game 21 Thread: April 19 @ Rockies, 12n

Roki Sasaki (0-2, 6.23) vs. Michael Lorenzen (1-2, 8.10).

Well, that's what you get when you have to put up a slapdash Game Thread from your phone: the Dodgers lose their first game to a National League opponent, a 4-3 come-from-ahead loss to the lowly Rockies. With multiple opportunities squandered throughout the game, not even a leadoff 2-0 lead (Kyle Farmer home run) could help a wobbly Emmet Sheehan and a loss-taking Will Klein from winning yesterday's game.

At least Shohei Ohtani extended his on-base streak to 50 games, which survived when he came to bat with two out in the ninth inning (he singled, but that was it for the Dodgers). The Rockies twice got in the way of Ohtani during this game, allowing him to reach twice on errors (which do not count toward on-base streaks), the latter of which was on a cheapie catcher's interference call in the seventh inning. But Ohtani eked it out anyway in the ninth, so the streak is still on.

Today will be another uphill climb for the Dodgers on the Rockies, with winless Roki Sasaki on the mound trying to find his groove. The LAT's Bill Plaschke advocates moving Sasaki to the bullpen, which can only mean that Sasaki is going to shove today, given Plaschke's penchant for bad predictions.

Sorry, I'm shopping right now and this is all I could post from my phone.

Post-Game 19 Thread: Weatherproof Glass

DODGERS 7, ROCKIES 1

On a frigid Coors Field pitch that was covered in snow five hours before game time, Tyler Glasnow beat back his fragile reputation and spun a gem to hold the Rockies in check.

Game 19 Thread: April 18 @ Rockies, 5p

Emmet Sheehan Tyler Glasnow vs. TBD.

As of Thursday morning, the Rockies are 6-12 this year, tied with the Giants for the worst record in the NL West. This is the first game of a weird "wrap-around" series which lasts four games and goes into Monday. Coming off of eight runs last game, I hope the Dodgers can stay warm in the wraparound.

Post-Game 18 Thread: Ohtani Notches 10Ks When He Doesn't Have To Multi-task

DODGES 8, METS 2

The Dodgers swept the Mets this series with some standout pitching performances in all three games: Justin Wrobleski opening with eight innings of two-hit, shutout ball Monday; then Yoshinobu Yamamoto going 7.2 IP with 7 Ks on Tuesday; and finally, Shohei Ohtani going 6.0 IP of 2 H, 1 ER ball (with 10 Ks) last night.

The bullpen also had admirable efforts, with Tanner Scott on Monday, Blake Treinen and Alex Vesia on Tuesday, and then Treinen, Scott, and Kyle Hurt on Wednesday. Hurt gave up the bullpen's only earned run in the series, but of note as that we didn't leverage expensive off-season acquisition Edwin Diaz, who is still dealing with a knee issue that stems back to his ill-fated 2023 WBC celebration.

Dalton Rushing, in a rare DH appearance last night, hit a grand slam (another great call from Dave Roberts to put Rushing in at DH, btw) to ice the game. The Dodgers scored 14 runs this series, and held the Mets to three runs. The Dodgers have the highest run differential in the majors at +46 runs, but of note is that the Braves aren't far behind at +44 (having played one more game than the Dodgers as of this morning).

There's chatter about Ohtani's best performance of the year last night, given he wasn't also in the lineup as DH and didn't have to deal with all the between-inning chicanery that adds difficulties to his two-way performances. Blue Jays manager John Schneider is probably happy to see this potential evolution, I'm sure.

Game 18 Thread: April 15 vs. Mets, 7p

Shohei Ohtani (1-0, 0.00) vs. Clay Holmes (2-1, 1.50).

It's tax day, but at least it's not luxury tax day, I suppose, for either one of the high-spending teams on the field at Dodger Stadium this evening. But maybe I should be posting this image instead?

Okay, that's better. Celebrating the accomplishments and legacy of the famed Brooklyn Dodger, not to mention the guy who also names the "Robinson Rotunda" in the sterile Citi Field of the visiting team, Jackie Robinson Day is the only day on the schedule where all 30 teams wear the number 42 on their jerseys. I love this tradition, and tonight won't be an exception...although I think my SNLA+ streaming package will thwart me from watching the game live.

The first two games of this series, the Dodgers' starter came out ahead in a pitching duel. Let's see if Ohtani can continue the trend tonight!

Tuesday, April 14, 2026

Game 17 Thread: April 14 vs. Mets, 7p

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (2-1, 2.50) vs. Nolan McLean (1-1, 2.70).

Nolan McLean, tonight's starting pitcher for New York, was also the starting pitcher in the WBC Championship Game for the United States, lasting 4.2 IP, giving up 4 H and 2 ER (with 1 HR). He's got a 0.3 WAR and has not given up more than 2 ER in any of his three starts this season.

But he's going to need help, after the Dodgers blanked the Mets last night, 4-0, thanks to Justin Wrobleski's eight innings of highly efficient shutout ball. Would love to keep those Mets bats slumbering tonight (especially the bat of Francisco Lindor, batting .176 in the leadoff spot).

Monday, April 13, 2026

Game 16 Thread: April 13 vs. Mets, 7p

Justin Wrobleski (1-0, 4.00) vs. David Peterson (0-2, 6.14).

Lost amidst all the saber-rattling over the Dodgers' spending (and success) is the fact that the New York Mets had the highest payroll in 2025. (Sure, the Dodgers assumed the payroll lead for the 2026 season, but don't say that Steve Cohen and the Mets didn't try.

Early on in this 2026 season, the Mets' $375M payroll does not seem to be yielding dividends, with the team in the cellar of the NL East (7-9). Juan Soto is on the IL with a calf strain.. Francisco Lindor is making gaffes in the field. And Bo Bichette, the Mets' key offseason signing, is off to a cold start (.235 BA, -0.1 WAR).

This does not make the Mets any less dangerous. But hopefully it makes for a positive series here at Uniqlo Field at Dodger Stadium (man, I can't even type that without cringing).

Game 15 Thread: April 12 vs. Rangers, 1p

Roki Sasaki (0-1, 7.00) vs. Jacob deGrom (0-0, 3.72).

One last chance to say goodbye for the season to former Dodgers Joc Pederson (0-for-2 with 2 Ks Saturday, dropping his batting average to .143) and Corey Seager (three-run HR on Friday, but 0-for-3 with a K Saturday to drop him to a .240 batting average). I was there at the Stadium on Friday night, and Seager was applauded, but then not appreciated when he put the Rangers ahead with his early blast.

Let's get the sweep. We've got the Mets rolling into town next.

Saturday, April 11, 2026

Game 14 Thread: April 11 vs. Rangers, 6p

Emmet Sheehan (1-0, 8.00) vs. Jack Leiter (1-0, 2.45).

Holy smokes, Max Muncy went off last night. And the Dodgers needed it, too, after watching former Dodger Corey Seager notch a three-run homer early, and then Edwin Diaz' trumpets rust over in the top of the ninth with his first blown save. But Muncy's third shot, in the bottom of the ninth, won the opener for Los Angeles.

How about we win tonight without the dramatic flair, huh Dodgers?

Game 13 Thread: April 10 vs. Rangers, 7p

RIP Chuck Norris.

Tyler Glasnow (1-0, 3.00) vs. Kumar Rocker (0-1, 3.60).

"Wyatt (Langford) and Kumar" doesn't have the same ring to it, but we'll surely see those two Texas Rangers tonight at the Stadium. Maybe we'll even see former Dodgers Corey Seager and Joc Pederson (both 2020 World Series Champions with the Dodgers, and both World Series Champions again with another team) as well?

I'm just excited because this will be my first game at Dodger Stadium this season! Drop a comment if you want to say hi and grab a beer.

Game 12 Thread: April 8 @ Blue Jays, 12n

Shohei Ohtani (1-0, 0.00) vs. Dylan Cease (0-0, 2.79).

The Blue Jays have no interest in seeing this Ohtani guy on the mound in Rogers Centre.

However, back in 2023, they thought differently.

This should be (yet another) fun one today! Let's go, Dodgers!

Game 11 Thread: April 7 @ Blue Jays, 4p

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (1-1, 3.00) vs. Kevin Gausman (0-0, 0.75).

Remember this guy, Yamamoto, in the 2025 World Series? Blue Jays fans won't soon forget him, for sure.

But at least they're throwing their ace, Kevin Gausman, who will be tough: in two games and 12 IP this year, Gausman has given up only 1 ER and 3 H (and has 21 Ks, tied for first in MLB).

Should be another fun one this afternoon! (Yes, that's what I said yesterday, as well.)

Post-Game 10 Thread: Dodgers Win World Series Game 8

The party continues in Toronto.

DODGERS 14, BLUE JAYS 2

The last two games the Dodgers played in the Rogers Centre were nailbiters. Tonight's game, the first game since the Dodgers' victorious 2025 World Series Game 7, was an all-out romp.

There were signs of worry before the first pitch, though. Will Smith took the game off (Dave Roberts gave him a rest day), with Dalton Rushing getting the start. Mookie Betts is injured. And Justin Wrobleski was making his first start of the season, after just one other appearance (four innings against the Guardians, in which he gave up three ER, thereby entering today's game with a 6.75 ERA).

And yet, the Dodgers thoroughly dominated the Blue Jays from the get-go. Teoscar Hernandez had a two-run homer in the first inning. And even though Wrobo-Cop gave back a run in the bottom of that frame, the Dodgers got additional home runs from Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, and a pair of home runs from Rushing (who went 4-for-4). Andy Pages added a two-run double; Kyle Tucker got a RBI; and the Dodgers' middle infield of Hyeseong Kim and Alex Freeland made some great defensive plays to squelch the Blue Jays' offense.

The Toronto crowd was completely muzzled for the game, especially after seeing Blue Jays starter Max Scherzer only last two innings (he apparently left with a forearm tendonitis issue). The crowd got excited in the ninth inning when Blue Jays position player Tyler Heineman took the mound (Miguel Rojas pitched the ninth for the Dodgers, and gave up a run). But that was it.

The Dodgers have now scored double-digit runs in three of their last four contests (all road games). Let's keep this rolling!

Game 10 Thread: April 6 @ Blue Jays, 4p

Justin Wrobleski vs. Max Scherzer.

When the Dodgers were last in Rogers Centre,...

...yeah, that was pretty epic.

This is a three-game series in April, so I am not going to get too carried away, either way. But this is also the first top-5 payroll team we are facing this year. And old friend (and 2021 Dodgers playoff hero Max Scherzer is on the mound for Toronto today.

Should be a fun one!

Game 9 Thread: April 5 @ Nationals, 10.30a

Roki Sasaki (0-1, 2.25) vs. Foster Griffin (1-0, 3.60).

Game 8 Thread: April 4 @ Nationals, 1p

Okay, there's only one, but that's all I got today.

Tyler Glasnow (0-0, 3.00) vs. Jake Irvin (1-0. 3.60).

Five homers yesterday. How many do you think the Dodgers might have today, especially now that Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Tucker (one and two in the lineup) have finally broken the seal?

Friday, April 03, 2026

Post-Game 7 Thread: Miles Beaten

DODGERS 13, NATIONALS 6

And Miles to go, before we...party? Miles Mikolas gave up a Nationals record 11 earned runs today, including four home runs (Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Andy Pages, and Freddie Freeman). Not a good home opener for Washington, especially when the topper came in the seventh inning, when even Kyle Tucker got on the board with his first home run of the year.

Teoscar Hernandez also went 3-for-4 to raise his team-leading batting average to .320; and Pages (also 3-for-4 today) has an OPS of 1.260 right now. With Emmet Sheehan going a respectable 5.2 IP (7 H, 4 ER, 3 BB and 2 Ks), the Dodgers coasted to victory in our first road game of the year.

Nice to see the offense finally open up, after a largely sleepy first homestand!

Game 7 Thread: April 3 @ Nationals, now!

Emmet Sheehan vs. Miles Mikolas.

Holy cow, this game is on right now. And you would think, with the opposing starting pitcher, that my Spidey-Sense should have signalled me. Hmm.

Dodgers are up 5-3, mid-3rd.

Game 6 Thread: April 1 vs. Guardians, 5.20p

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (1-0, 3.00) vs. Gavin Williams (0-1, 5.40).

Weekday game before a travel day, so it's probably a 7p start time, right? APRIL FOOLS!

Nope, we go early tonight, cutting even more into Yoshinobu Yamamoto's recovery time. Lucky for us, it's not like we overworked this guy down the stretch last season. I'm sure we're totally good here.

Tuesday, March 31, 2026

Game 5 Thread: March 31 vs. Guardians, 7p

Shohei Ohtani vs. Tanner Bibee.

March seemed to follow the old weather adage, "in like a lion, out like a lamb." The Dodgers stormed to three come-from-behind victories over the Diamondbacks to start the season, only to appear totally asleep in last night's series opener (a 4-2 loss). Maybe those Sundays off are a bad thing? We'll see if Shohei has anything to say about it, tonight.

Monday, March 30, 2026

Game 4 Thread: March 30 vs. Guardians, 7p

Roki Sasaki vs. Parker Messick.

Remember Roki Sasaki, starter-turned-effective reliever in the 2025 postseason? Well, that guy is back to the starting rotation...except this 2026 Spring Training, he was not good, with a 15.58 ERA and 15 walks in 8 2/3 innings over four starts.

Yikes.

Sasaki hasn't proven himself as a MLB starter yet, going 1-1 with a 4.46 ERA (ERA+ 93) over eight starts in 2025. The Dodgers might actually have some bullpen options this year, so it makes sense to slot Sasaki back as a starter. But he'd better find his groove fast or this might be a long year.

Game 3 Thread: March 28 vs. Diamondbacks, 6p

Tyler Glasnow vs. Eduardo Rodriguez.

Last night was another come-from-behind victory for the Dodgers, as well as the debut of new Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz...and the debut of the Dodgers' new solo trumpet section (not yet sponsored by Uniqlo).

It would be nice to actually coast to a victory in one of these Opening Series games.

Game 2 Thread: March 27 vs. Diamondbacks, 7p

Emmet Sheehan vs. Ryne Nelson.

All was joyous at Dodger Stadium yesterday, with the Dodgers leveraging home runs from Andy Pages and Will Smith to romp to a 8-2 victory over Arizona.

But let's remember 2009, when Orlando Hudson hit for the cycle en route to a 11-1 Opening Day victory over the Giants, starting the season with a lot of momentum (the Dodgers ended up winning the NL West), only to crash out in the 2009 NLCS in a loss to the Phillies.

It was one game yesterday, over a team not expected to make the playoffs.

Now the ball goes to you, Emmet!

UPDATE: SoSG AC is at the Stadium tonight!
