Ok, Ok. Since I have been away for vacation, the Dodgers have lost 3 out of 4 games. Thus, I am coming back home tomorrow and expect the blue crew to right the ship.

At least the Lakers are winning. LAL 43, HOU 24, 10:07 left in the 2nd.

Lakers 64 - Houston 39

Orel said...

Nats tie it up in SF!

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Lakers killing Houston 99-61. It's over.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Nats have a slim 7-6 lead in the top of the ninth.

PenosCabell said...

Yeah, this Laker game has been over for a while.

PenosCabell said...

I hope they go into Houston with this same attitude, and just end this series.

rbnlaw said...

Something about Philadelphia. At least we face Moyer tomorrow.

Steve Sax said...

Come on, Joe Beimel! Two out in the ninth, Nats clinging to a one run lead. Burriss on first.

Steve Sax said...

Lakers up 105-72

Steve Sax said...

wonderful, a throwing error on a pickoff move by beimel advances burriss to scoring position.

Renteria at the plate.

Steve Sax said...

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick almost got decapitated by that Rocket flying into the crowd. The Closer, indeed.

Steve Sax said...

Yay, it gives TNT more opportunities to show off Kyra Sedgwick. Did we mention that The Closer is on TNT?

I am now realizing I should have used a "six-degrees" joke rather than a "The Closer" joke. My bad.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Renteria walks. Winning run is on for San Fran.

rbnlaw said...

Beimel wants to face Sandoval.

Steve Sax said...

Beimel walks Renteria. Men on first and second. Two out. Come on, Joe.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

WTF!?

rbnlaw said...

Duces wild by the Bay

PenosCabell said...

Beimel blew it?

rbnlaw said...

. . .and it gets worse.
Thanks, Joe!

Orel said...

Old friend Joe Beimel gives up a walk-off three-run home run to Pablo Sandoval. Giants are now three games back.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Somewhere Troy is ripping off his sideburns in disgust.

PenosCabell said...

Joe, you blow.

PenosCabell said...

I'd still rather have Beimel than Ohman.

PenosCabell said...

Laker up 3-2. This series ends in Houston on Thursday.

NicJ said...

i dont get the love affair with beimel, he was doing that same stuff towards the end of last year.

Ohman, is pretty much the same guy, just at a cheaper price tag.

rbnlaw said...

"Plaschke says Manny responsible for Beimel melt down in SF."
-more to follow

PenosCabell said...

Aside from that game ending HR in SF tonight, and a stint on the DL, Beimel has had a much better season and put up much netter numbers than Ohman.

PenosCabell said...

The money being wasted on Guillermo Mota could have ben spent on Beimel.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

The thing is that Beimal is collapsing under pressure. That's the second walk-off he's given up this season.

rbnlaw said...

The money spent on Mota could have bought a fleet of team buses.

But did Werth reach base on a strikeout? I always felt that should be considered stealing first...

Orel said...

Good point, SM86. Doesn't lessen the humiliation any, though.
