Post-Game 46 Thread: Singular Sensation

Beast Mode (.388/.464/.500 before today's game) hits a bases-clearing triple—one of only three extra-base hits for the Dodgers today—in the fourth inning.

DODGERS 16, ROCKIES 6

This just in: 16 singles > 11 walks.

The Dodgers continue to get it done without power. Their 16 singles, many of the seeing-eye variety, easily compensated for their generous pitching staff, which handed out more free passes than those annoying preview screening recruiters on the Santa Monica Promenade.

The Dodgers' one- through eight-hitters went absolutely batty, going 19-for-42. Pierre, Matt Kemp and Juan Castro (!) had three RBIs each. Jamie Hoffmann continues to impress, following his first major league home run yesterday with a double and two RBIs today, although he also stranded four baserunners.

Will Ohman, Ronald Belisario and Guillermo Mota cleaned up the mess made by starter Eric Stults and Jeff Weaver. The bullpen will be a key component in tomorrow's game, as Eric Milton is scheduled to make only his second start in the last two years. Milton threw 84 pitches over four innings and allowed two runs to Florida in his first start.

Oh, and the Padres have now won ten straight. Excellent.

Matt Kemp, will you please hit a homerun? Where is the power? Even in Denver they struggle to hit the ball out. A win is a win no matter how you get it, so I'll stopp complaining. Today was very impressive, I just hoped they saved some runs for tomorrow.

Yes, Jamie Hoffman continues to impresss.

Clint Barmes looked positively Keystone Cops-esque chasing grounders around today. The scorer was pretty kind, charging him with only one error, but I would almost swear that Russ poked the ball at him intentionally in the 9th for his single.

Nims - I was starting to feel bad for Clint Barmes and Alan Embree. But then I thought about it. Why feel bad?

I hate when they play COL in COL. Never get any games in Vegas.
