While most Red Sox players are kicking Manny while he's down, one Boston player has come out and supported Manny, saying that's not the guy he knows. Unfortunately, it's the guy who is getting ripped in his hometown otherwise for his slow start this year, but hey, who's counting:
"This situation has shocked me. That's not the guy that I know," the Boston Red Sox designated hitter said before Tuesday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels. "The only thing I know about him is that he's a guy who works hard every day and gets prepared to play the game."
Allies are allies. And it's appreciated that Ortiz came out in support of Manny during what has to be a tough time for Ramirez. Big Papi, indeed.
