COMMENTS: Fresh off a 4-2 NL East road trip, the Dodgers return home to greet the NL East-leading Mets. Luckily, the Dodgers won't see Johan Santana over the three-game series (we drew Redding, John Maine, and Livan Hernandez; the latter of which always seems to kill us, though it's still a darn sight better than Santana). Also lucky is that we're rolling back into town with the majors' best record and a whopping six-game lead over the Giants, who salvaged the last of four games with the Mets last night. Wolf, who got the win in Philly last week with his third straight quality start, has given up only one ER or fewer in his last four outings.
Unfortunately, however, we get Mario "Saved By The Bell" Lopez throwing out the first pitch, continuing a recent and concerning Dodgers trend to invite questionable "celebrities" to games (I suppose it's because the Dodgers rock at home, and fans need someone to boo, right?). With those biceps, Lopez should be able to throw the ball through the walls of the Dugout Club, right? Especially if the catcher gets lost in his dreamy eyes? Unless someone tests Lopez for PEDs prior to the game, that is.
