Jeff Weaver (0-0, 0.00) vs. Max Scherzer (0-2, 3.48).
COMMENTS: Look out, 1911 Tigers! The 2009 Dodgers go for a major league-tying record of 12 consecutive home victories tonight. And all without their Opening Day starter Hiroki Kuroda, who's still weeks away.
The Diamondbacks send Wunderkind Max Scherzer and his 8.71 K/9 rate against old friend Weaver, who earned this start based on his four scoreless innings against the Padres last Thursday.
A win tonight would give the Dodgers series sweeps against all four of their division rivals (if you can call a two-game series a sweep. Hey, why not?). Tomorrow the Dodgers leave the comfort of their NL West nest for only their fourth inter-division game...against the 7-17 Nationals.
Life is good. Enjoy it while you can.

Fred is playing coy here
predictions for loney?
groundout to second.
Russ grounds directly to Wilson, Jo
.225 just got worse, again. He's 0-for-3 tonight, having reached on an error.
Kemp's average is plummeting as well...
I'm out for now, but will be back.
Loney flared to short, dusto
We are tattooing the wall tonight.
hmm, russ pulled the ball to left again. imagine that.
See ya, MLASF.
Okay, guys, my eyes are closing. I'll be listening, but I am not able to pay attention to these comments any longer. Let's hope the Dodgers hold on to this lead.
Not digging the Subway 5 dollar footlong singers so much.
The Mini Sirloin Burger commercials, however, are another story. Have I mentioned this to you guys yet?
Erin, what's San Juan from Los Angeles? +3?
Byrnes is a Bruin! Go Bruins!
hey sax do you listen to adam carolla at all?
Yeah, Sax. So last night's game was over at nearly 2 am here. I'm still feeling that one.
I get the feeling that the Dodgers will still score six runs tonight
Furcal nails Byrnes. Well done, Raffy.
Let's talk about Erin now.
I loved Loveline!
he does a podcast now and one of his more recent ones he was interviewing jack, from jack in the box. Hilarious.
Nic J, I was a Corolla fan after he took over from Stern (I was never that into Howard Stern, maybe because I missed the original wave). I enjoyed listening to Corolla grow up on KROQ and advance to the Man Show etc.
When 97.1 switched to that frickin Amp'd Radio, I was really disappointed at the format change.
How is Corolla now on his podcast?
what did Corolla / Jack have to say?
I bet Corolla likes him the mini sirloin burgers, but he still ranted against one of the onions in burger #2 or the cardstock of the container or something.
SoSG Delino happens to be a Stern fan, btw
there is no one to pull him off his soapbox so he gets a little to preachy at times. Still funny, and its free so i dont complain.
And you know what else Delino likes?
227!
Arizona's got three sub-Andruw batters. THREE!
Maybe Matt Leinart can change careers... from Hot Tub Salesman.
i never really liked stern, its hard for me to listen to his callers talk for 4 hours a day.
I MISSED 227 BY ONE. DAMN YOU SAX
Is Teresa Strasser podcasting with him?
I'd tell you my connection to Stern, but for the purposes of anonymity I can't.
Okay, I'll tell you. I'm his first wife.
coy? me?...
Delino! Lurking for 227! Love it.
nah, she's a host body at the moment. She's doing her TV guide channel thing. she goes on every once and a while.
Ha ha, Delino got burned!
TV Guide Channel? For both viewers?
there it is, Raffy! nice work, Willy-O
Arizona grounds out of the seventh! Here comes God Bless America.
I'm watching at home, but I feel like I have to stand up. And then run to the refrigerator to get a beer before the end of the inning.
they have TWO now?! times must be good.
I am shocked, but pleasantly surprised, that the score is only 3-1.
That is not J-Lo.
stick to the script lady.
A cappella GBA!
agreed Orel.
insurance runs would be nice.
A little too much flair for my tastes on that GBA rendition, especially the extra and irrelevant notes at the end.
GBA score: 3 (out of 10)
she was going for the record for most notes added to GBA.
That was an awful version of God Bless America
Add in the factor of that horrific dress: 2
Sax, can you bring me a beer two? I'll pay for half your gas.
The girl who sang GBA tonight was Hot.
Mini Sirloin Burgers > $5 Footlong sandwiches > $0.99 chicken soft taco
Did Houston/Washington get rained out in extras? How often doe that happen?
Bababooey!
can you imagine vin eating a MSB?
Delino, I would, but it's Cinco De Mayo, dude. Lotsa crazy drivers out there. I'll owe you one.
And it was her cinco de mayo dress. Those dresses are all hideous.
Juan Pierre, thank you for playing! One pitch, one ground out. Way to be a great pinch hitter!
HEY!!!
Juan Pierre is back!
I'm trying to convince Mrs. Delino to get us some beers. The fridge has never seemed farther.
Neeebs approves of the GBA lady.
HEY!!!
Dusto is back!
I can't remember the last time I had Arby's. Probably a road trip.
HEY!!!
Juan Pierre is back...on the bench, after a one-pitch at-bat!
What great camerawork in that Corona commercial.
"I'll take the add cheese." --patron at Arby's, on PCH in Redondo Beach
266 gambit's first appearance!
Raffy and Martin are really struggling!

MArtin would be good at three card monty
THE NATIONALS COMING TO TOWN - Orel, you better think of some clever "15" graphics

damn, putting a little extra on it.
Same pitch!
Chris Young called K!
Belly getsw all three to K after hitting the first batter. Wow.
Beli
woot woot!!!!
Beli gets it on the corner!!!
K!!!!
Okay, I only counted 12 beeps this time in that Southwest commercial. So maybe the guy who wanted floor #9 in the first place was settling for the 12th floor, and then would just walk down three floors to get to his office.
Vin is talking about Don't Stop Believing. And how it fires up the crowd. Which they're playing at the Stadium, when we have a two-run lead late.
Once again, we're trying to give the Diamondbacks hope through musical inspiration. WHY????
Can't we just send them "you can do it!" cards?
nasty pitch to get Hudson.
Come on, Manny!
I have a feeling our first home loss is going to be against the Nationals.
Don't be pitching that inside crap to Manny
Hey Orel, what are you doing tomorrow night?
really? who is pitching those games?
Don't stop believin'...the bullpen can protect a two-run lead!
300!
Not based on the pitching matchups. Just a gut feeling.
i have a feeling its going to be to the hated ones, isnt lincecum supposed to pitch one of those games?
Claymation is still alive and well with the chevron techron peeps
well we were swept by them last year, i didnt see that coming.
"I think the outfielders are daydreaming." —Vin
Who will be pitching on Sunday? I've got tix for that game.
Wow, the NL west opponents are baaaaaaaad. Ethier winds up on first with a "hit".
Does this set up the Loney DP?
what a perfect time for loney to hit his first homerun.
or not.
Free James Loney, a 0-for-4 night. Ugh.
Schoeneweis actually is pitching well for Arizona. Maybe the Mets missed something.
the james loney struggle continues
they dont have the probables up yet but it looks like it will be weaver vs lincecum.
How is KCAL Weatherperson Jackie Johnson able to levitate on top of the harbor?
Here we go, top of the ninth. Let's go, Brox.
crap, lincecum. that won't be fun.
doesnt it suck when you buy tickets and you get the opposing ace? that always happens to me. i bought tickets to bobblebeard night and i know im gonna get Johan santana.
"How is KCAL Weatherperson Jackie Johnson able to levitate on top of the harbor?"
weather balloons
I once got tix for Peavy vs. Penny. Neither one looked good, but Penny stank the most.
i wouldnt mind tix to see penny stink this year.
Neeebs likes Jackie Johnson, too.
Now watching Penny struggle is hilarious. It's like a guy who thinks he can housetrain a dog that no one else can.
See what happens when Erin leaves?
clayton might get his first win tomorrow.
Nice pitch to get Lopez
Brox with K #2
that looked like an "i want to go back to the hotel" swing.
Augie Doggie up to plate with two out for the Snakes
history!!
oh yeah!!!
DODGERS WIN!
12 in a row at home--ties the 1911 Detroit Tigers!
Go Blue!
Alright, 12 straight victories at home.
Post-Game Thread is up!
im sure the 1911 tigers are so jealous right now, and dead.
that's pretty funny, Nic
I came back this morning to read what you guys had to say after I left. My only comment is this:
Sax, in that Southwest elevator commercial, if you pay very close attention to the beginning, the woman is persistently pressin the "2" button to get the doors to close. It's fairly obvious, and it drives me crazy because if he wanted to go to the ninth floor, she wouldn't have to make any stops on her way up one flight.
Oh, and go Dodgers!!!
