Randy Wolf (1-1, 4.31) vs. Chris Young (2-1, 5.74).
COMMENTS: Release the rabbits! In Young's last start, the Rockies stole eight bases against the Padre lamppost. The Dodgers, as Vin likes to say, have a few rabbits of their own, especially if Juan Pierre gets in the game. Eight stolen bases might be a bit much to expect, but how about one for each bunny Gromit is holding?
The Dodgers also have a Wolf, one pitching better than his numbers indicate. Vin tells us the Dodgers are batting .370 and averaging more than eight runs a game at Dodger Stadium (although those figures are now a tad lower after last night's 1-0 nail-biter), so Wolf would certainly appreciate some early run support. I know I would, because I ran out of Pepto during the ninth inning last night.
A win tonight would give the Dodgers the series win in this four-game set against the Padres, who suddenly find themselves under .500 (at 11-12) after a hot start which at one point put them at 9-3. The also-sub-.500 Diamondbacks and Nationals follow the Padres into town next week, so now's the time for the Dodgers to fatten up like, well, a wolf devouring rabbits. (Full circle. Ta-da!)

I hate Mr. Mini Sirloin Burger
unbeweavable.
Exactly what our bullpen doesn't need.
i hope someone steals Ecksteins bike after the game.
Pressure's on for Chad to go deep tomorrow.
I do like the Oasis song in the Jaguar XF commercial.
MOTA?!
NicJ, LOL.
I wonder if McCourt charged Eckstein the full $15 for parking at the stadium.
Garut's Stanford heritage gets a mention. Go Cardinal!
no, i think parking is cheaper anyways with a Jr. Dodgers membership.
kemp, saving the 'pens ass once again.
Nic is on fire tonight. Nothing like a little Eckstein bashing to bring out the best.
nice catch by Kemp to get Gerut. 1 out.
nicJ you are on fire. Eckstein has his waterloo, and you are it.
HAHA
We can bash, but to be fair, Eckstein has two WS rings and an MVP to boot
Pitching around to get to Eckstein...this could backfire on us.
oh crap, IBB to Giles to get to Eckstein. Here comes karma....
yeah i know he is a solid player.
dammit - gotta face Eckstain with the goahead run on 2nd :/
Eckstein is so scrappy, he's bound to rise to the challenge and get over the high bar and get a hit.
Oh crap, I can't do this even if I try.
Eckstein's wife is a Jedi.
i think he might teach me a lesson right now.
WHEW
YIPPEE KI YAY
i wonder how long it took the equipment manager to unstitch ballboy and restitch Eckstein on his uni.
TAKE THAT!!
You know, if Eckstein were here to defend himself, he might just step on your toes.
Furcal single!
way to start it off raffy!
Must be his at-bat music.
Raffy! Lead off single in the 10th.
Orel, have you mentioned anything about the Dodgers having rabbits on the basepaths?
Swing, O-Dog. You're batting .500 at home.
it more like gerbils on the basepaths tonight
I noticed a lot of players wearing gray undershirts. Now I notice the Padres' pitcher's shirt has a SD logo on it. Is this a new MLB-mandated thing?
Russell Martin is not a gerbil!
Hitter's count.
i stand corrected.
Smoked!
Wow, Furcal taking off toward second almost caused a DP on that O-Dog base hit!
gotta get him home!
As I said, game of inches.
another walk off walk tonight?
RANCHO ARDIENDO
Seriously, Rodriguez almost covered over and caught that O-Dog hit on the fly. Whew!
IBB to Manny, no outs. Come on, Dodgers.
Andre, smoke that sucker.
We're all set up for another walk-off walk!!!
WOW?
WOB?
WOHBP?
boy, nothing is more exciting than the walk-off walk. Two W-O-Ws in a row? My heart can't take it.
(sarcastic, btw)
dont hit into another DP andre
Vin takes a look at our blog and says "what are the odds of yet another walk off walk."
2-0 count.
questionable strike there. 2-1
ANDRE!!!!!!
WOW
yessir!!
Yahoo, Dodgers!
Man, Ethier tagged that one.
And Vin is reminding us that the 1946 Dodgers, who also went 9-0 at home, lost in the NLCS to the Cards. Man, this is no time for buzzkill!
it's a little dusty in my apartment. i may have to do a little sweeping tomorrow...
i know its early in the season, and we havent really played anybody but the NL west, but this season feels special.
We lost Orel back there. Someone call 911 and send it to his house.
orel OD'd on pepto
Orel! Orel! You still with us?
Orel always looked good in pink
Why is Steve Lyons sporting the mullet? Is this his Eric Karros tribute haircut?
I fell asleep in the 7th. I woke up as Hudson got the basehit, Now i don't know if I'll get back to sleep.
nicJ, I'm with you. This team does feel special. This is cool.
Sure, we have a losing record outside the NL West. It's still cool.
GO Dodgers!
tomorrow we go for the franchise record!!
LA leads SF by 4 games. SF is at .500, so you can do the math for the rest of the NL West.
Man, our division is bad. We're going to need some out-of-division wins for me to feel more comfortable about this team.
well the nats come to town soon. haha
gnite all - it's been quite a day - gonna sleep well after this one!
Hi everybody! What'd I miss???
Post-Game Thread is up.
Orel man, don't mind the paramedics knocking on your door right...about...NOW
