Clayton Kershaw (0-2, 7.29) vs. Jake Peavy (2-3, 5.74).
COMMENTS: So a 7-0 home record to start out this season ain't good enough for you, eh? We now need to challenge the record for the franchise's longest home winning streak to start a season (nine games, in 1946)? Looking at Peavy, the signs look good for the Dodgers, despite his historical dominance over Los Angeles; we beat him and the Padres 4-1 to open the season on April 6, and Peavy has given up 11ER in 11 IP over his last two starts (both losses). On the flipside, though, Kershaw hasn't had a win in any of his four outings this year, and his last two starts aren't anything to write home about, either (15ER over 9IP, both losses).
Accuscore is giving the Dodgers only a 53% chance of winning tonight's game. And by the looks of the guy on the ESPN video preview, he's not happy about that whatsoever.
He must not know about the Viva Las Vegas postgame fireworks. We'll alert the lone Dodgers beat reporter to print a story on that, stat.

Now it's 3-2
"Wow, what a turn. That was right out of Johnny Sain's book." —Vin, on Sanchez turning to second before pitching to Loney
Full count to Loney. Argh.
Aye, Loney swung and missed
Dammit James. K.
Silver lining: At least Loney didn't GIDP.
Okay. Come on Matt! You CAN do it!
Wow, James was so far ahead of that breaking ball. Thanks, X-MO.
Now we move on to Kemp. 1-0
it would have been a nice tribute to Eric Karros if he did GIDP
Kemp happy there's no more Peavy. 2-0
Not that happy. 2-1
Kemp, a .313 batter, with 3Ks tonight and a 0-for-3 evening.
He's due.
Ooh, close one. 3-1
And I say close as in close to his head. Ball 4.
RANCHO ARDIENDO
Great, once again we get screwed by a favorable play. Walking Kemp brings up sub-mendoza Martin.
Mr. Mendoza is up
Ok, Russ. I BELIEVE in you!
Duaner will walk in the winning run
This can save him from our wrath. 0-1
c'mon martin
Time to break out, Russ.
Martin is flailing at everything. Come on Russ, show some patience. This could knock you out of your slumpage.
Good eye, Russ. 1-1
LOW! 2-1!
Patience, young Martin.
russ, I know Jack Fimple would come thru right now
Shall we consider the always exciting walk-off-walk? Not likely. 2-2
this tension is killing me... 2-2 count
c'mon, Sanchez, hit him. he told me the D stood for Dirty
I never thought I would ever say this, but maybe Brad Ausmus should pinch-hit
At least he's fighting.
Stayin' Alive.
Russ is hacking like he's in the jungle
I have a bad feeling about this.
ARGH! FOUL! NO!
Ha, did you see Bowa kick the ball?!
Argh!
Larry Bowa hates that ball.
WOGS, anyone?
Love Bowa punting the ball into the dugout
BTW that guy who had the closeup shot with the hands on his head? I know that guy well.
No joke
LOW! FULL COUNT TO MARTIN!
Rancho full count!
"We've gone as far as we can go now." --Vin
would that be Dave Sax?
It's only May! Too early for this kind of tension!
Wow, a walk-off balk would have been cool there...
WIN FOR BROX
Yay Russell! the W-O-W!
Good Eye!
I need a drink.
Well, that won't break Russ out of his slump. But I'll take the win!
Mrs. Sax thinks that was a cheap way to win. But she'll take it, too--I've got chores to do.
Good night everybody!
I believe that's our second walk-off walk this season.
Post-Game Thread is up!
A walk off walk. I'll take it.
