Scoreboard Watching: ALCS Game 6, Angels @ Yankees, 5p

UPDATE: Postponed!

Alex "Palpatine" Rodriguez.

Is it still scoreboard watching if the result doesn't affect your team?

When you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn?

What happens if you yell "Movie!" in a crowded firehouse?

Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?

What was the best thing before sliced bread?

Can we still post useless, bitter, yet oddly insightful comments despite the fact that the game is postponed?

I'd be disappointed if you didn't.

Ok, well...if they were playing this tonight, I'd be wondering why Swisher still gets the start at RF given how horrible he's been in this series. That grinning ninny Girardi needs to shake that part of the lineup up since Swisher has left a lot of RISP and the Yank-mes need this game (that will be played tomorrow) to put their boot on the Angels' neck.

This is a bummer. I was jonesing for some playoff baseball tonight.

Dusty Baker said...

I couldn't be more bummed. It's forcing me to watch USC play and win. See what you've done, weather?? *shakes fist at sky*

Sax's post totally bummed our whole household out, especially the picture of the empty stadium. The lack of life in the place, the fading logo, its bases removed...it's as if the cruel baseball gods removed the heart and soul of Chavez Ravine.

[Not that it wasn't excellent, appreciated reporting.]

*stares at the scoreboard with a blank expression*

Baseball wasn't meant to be anywhere today.

Dusty Baker said...

Baseball's in my heart today.

Maybe I should just go read some scripture (e.g., _Dodgers Journal_)

Orel said...

Cool! How many fans does your heart seat?

Dusty Baker said...

56,000

Charge $15 for parking and you'll be a millionaire.

Dusty Baker said...

Naw, I'd only be an $840,000ionnaire.

Does this mean we have to play the Giants 18 times before we can make the playoffs?

Uhhh those games drain me.

How many different flavored vodkas can one society have?

Next Vodka flavored Vodka.

Dusty Baker said...

Vodka flavored vodka tastes just like chicken.

I deman baseball. Play in the rain, dammit. The Dodgers and the Mets played in snow in '88 fercryinoutloud.

Chicken flavored vodka brilliant!

I had an awful dream last night. The dream was that the NLCS wasn't over, but the Dodgers kept losing. Game after game after game. Like they couldn't win, but they couldn't be eliminated either. It was pretty awful.

Paul said...

That is a pretty bad dream. Sounds a lot like the last week of the season.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

@Fanerman - I can top that. I dreamt the Dodgers won Game 5, and they then won 6 and 7, and were preparing for the World Series. Then I woke up. I was not happy.

Paul said...

I dreamed I was in a fight with Alexander Hamilton
and getting my ass handed to me.

He might have been wearing a Philies hat and it might have been George Hamilton.

Dusty Baker said...

He may have been a Phillies fan, but boy, look what Hamilton did to unify our currency.

Paul said...

The Phils Aaron Burred the Dodgers.

I'm wearing an Angels shirt my aunt gave me for Christmas. I'm not really an Angels fan, but since I don't hate them and they're playing the Yankees and maybe the Phillies, go Angels!

Dusty Baker said...

fanerman, whassup w that? if your aunt gave you a pink bunny suit for xmas, would you wear that, too? ;-)

Watching MLB Network trying to get some insight as to ow tomorrow's game will play out. One thing I don't understand: who is this mysterious Jee-ter guy they keep referring to? He is apparently supposed to be key but I couldn't pick him out of the crowd. He doesn't get much press.

David said...

@mlasf...I had a dream once where Kershaw struck out A-Rod. I was so hoping it would come true...

fanerman said...

Aw, db. That hurts.

Where do circus kids run away to?

That pic kinda looks like Evil James Loney. (EJL?)

Steve Sax said...

That is the scariest picture of A-Fraud. What a sinister countenance.

Eric Karros said...

After seeing that picture of A-Rod, is anyone else even slightly concerned they got the wrong guy in the Unabomber case?

Dusty Baker said...

This picture looks like Time Magazine gave it their patented front cover treatment so it would make A-Rod look more menacing to Whitey.
