Holliday! Celebrate! 2009 Cardinals, meet the 2008 Cubs. The Dodgers overcame their regular-season tormentors (they lost five of seven to the Cards) in two strong outings and one incredibly fortunate inning. Now they get a four-day rest while the Rockies and Phillies play snowball in Denver.
Most press coverage will be about CARDINALS LOSE (dodgers win), but don't let that bother you. That's why we're here!
Oh, and kudos to the wise soul at KABC who decided to sync up the radio feed to TBS' picture. It was a real pleasure to win with Vin!

Damn it, ESPNEWS, we won 95 games! Not 94! You've only had 6 days to get that right!
Awesome win, but in my house Vin was still about two seconds ahead of TBS. I dealt with it, though, because it was better than listening to the TBS guys.
I hope we are the underdogs in the next series.
the audio on MLB.com was lined up perfectly for me - that fraction of a second makes such a difference
i used my dvr and Iphone at bat audio to sync up the game pretty easliy.
easily*
I hope the Brewers win the NL Central next year so we can sweep them too
"This team could go all the way." Welcome to the bandwagon, Eck!
That broom scares me.
Now MLB network are the morons. Comparing the '08 Cubs to the '09 Cards:
"Well the Cubs didn't have Cy Young A and Cy Young B, they didn't have the best player in baseball, they didn't have Matt Holiday, they didn't have Mark DeRosa."
....they DID have Mark DeRosa.
What odds.would have been given if before the series someone told you that Weaver, Sherrill, and Padilla would be the winning pitchers for the Dodgers?
Neeeds:
100%, since 3 wins is enough to win the series.
bwahahahahaha
take that media!
Oh yeah. The Vin feed was perfect today. Thanks to whoever did that =).
Give 'em hell DB.
Fan Nation says we should not have been in the play-offs. Dodgers ordered to allow Cards to advance to NLCS. Suck it MSM! Suck it MSB!
Suck it MSG!
I predict, bold as it may be, Dodgers and Yank-mes in the WS.
You heard it here first. On to smoke my CAO Brazilia now.
DB; Represent, brutha!
DB
are you waiting for the great pumpkin?
You are almost in the deep south of the valley where I dwell. More blue Herr but a lot of giants losers.
Here but Herr works.... like my beer is right thurr.
I'm so happy that we beat the cards!! Can't wait till thrusday!! And hopefully 4 more wins!!!
Hell yes, boys!
Now I just have to figure out what to do with myself for a week.
...and give'm hell, DB.
A week? Mr Customer, by Thursday you had better be whipped into a f'ing frenzy!
@Sax,
Week...ish?
Someday...
I can tell my kids...
...that I saw Albert Pujols go 3 for 10 and throw a tantrum.
i'm watching Baseball tonight.
who remembers Steve Bethiamue's little article?
"As far as the Dodgers go, they won't win. In fact, they won't survive the division series. I'll go you one better: Put me down as the Dodgers going three-and-out in the first round. That's my bold prediction. Nearly every year, one September favorite forgets to show up in October. This year, it will be the Dodgers. "
Weeeee bought a round trip from BOS to LAX and tickets to the first two games yesterday!!
Will be my first time at the stadium in 3 years.
Manny looks like he's trying to fly.
Dodgers can't beat Carpenter or Wainwright.
Cardinals' pitching simply too strong.
Shows what Yahoo Sports knows.
"Dodgers don't have God on their side."

Suck it Your holyness.

Did you disrespect the British Bulldogs in the GT? Maybe I misread it.
OK, went to HG and lost my ass ($80) playing Hold 'em. I was playing with a Dodger fan and tried to drop some SoSGisms on him to test his cred.
Dude had none.
I'm still so farking happy about this series win, it's hard to put into words until I'm sober.
Bring on the friggin Rox or the Fills. Hell, bring on Baseball Tonight; We will be playing until November.

Thankfully I was careful to not have the post Dodger clinching celebration spew session!
@RB-
That's funny you said that about testing dude's cred. Sometimes I do that at games. Like at a urinal during the game I'll drop a Flat Breezy reference, or maybe an "Answer Sent" to the guy next to me in the Dodger Dog line while we're watching the shitty Zenith tube. ONE DAY I'm going to run into someone who can play right back. Maybe it's the "Sons" not the "Dozens" we play...
I guess those decisions to sign Padilla instead of Smoltz, incl him on the playoff roster, and start him Game 3, wasn't all that bad, eh? That was a fucking masterpiece he painted.
Not that I'm the kind of guy to say I told you so or anything.
DB I didn't mean to. They were just too goody-goody for my 12-year-old tastes. Nikolai Volkov and the I-ron Sheik were too chumpy - how could those guys never win?
FB-
Please tell me someone has done a dissertation on the influence of political and international affairs on the wrestling personas of the 1980s/early 90s. At the same time I was supposed to be mad about the Iran hostage situation, we had Volkov/Iron Shiekh stirring the pot, and I think I fell victim as a kid to the propaganda, eventually swept up in a Sgt. Slaughter pro-USA revelry.
[That didn't last long, by the way, despite my GI Joe* fixation.]

The killer bees now that was a tag team that was way too goody goody for me to like.
I did love the iron sheik's shoes.
What about the Sheepherders? Those were the oddest fellas out there for awhile.
i still like to do the Bushwackers walk now and then
FB, that's hilarious. I myself am prone to march through the crib Bushwackers/Sheepherders style during particularly drunken and/or celebratory evenings. Mrs. Dusty LOVES it, and thinks it's funny EACH and EVERY time! She just can't get enough of my tomfoolery.
Oddest tag team combo. The twin towers. A southern correctional officer and and a guy from Africa who couldn't dance.
