I know there is no crying in baseball, but that just goes for the player right?

Wahhhhhhhh!!!

Kyle Baker said...

I'm about to cry like a schoolgirl.

How many straight games have the Dodgers committed errors? It seems like a lot now.

I turned the telly away from anything baseball related. First channel I surfed to was a Cinemax channel that is showing a movie called "Choke." Seartogod. Look it up. SO I quickly found something sufficiently mindless to help me escape. Settled on "River Monsters - Killer Catfish. Searching for the goonch, a man-eating species of catfish found in the foothills of the Himalayas." Yeah, that's the stuff...*drifts off into non-Dodgers related bliss*

im starting to think Casey was a bigger cog in our offense than anyone thought.

I've taken the Twitter plunge, if anyone wants to follow me. It's twitter.com/mrlasportsfan

we have had an error in 7 of the 9 games on this road trip.

25 by loretta alone. JK

NicJ said...

i know DB's twitter, i have been secretly watching him from afar.

NicJ said...

that is probably the most bummed out i have ever seen Torre.

NicJ said...

Will Tracy screw us over one final time this weekend?

Kyle Baker said...

Nic-lurker!

I'm @dustybkrdodgr

Kyle Baker said...

You're right, Nic, Torre looks downright ill.

He be illin'.

Jimbo said...

Torre needs to bring the towel snap on these guys.

To go with the shit sandwich theme of the week, Rox will probably lose tomorrow, taking all the fun out of Friday night.

Kyle Baker said...

Josh, that's known as shit sandwich with a side of syphilis salad.

NicJ said...

like i said earlier, Shit Party Sub.

NicJ said...

We have turned the shit all the way up to 11

Bayareadfan said...

Didn't see the game, but I take it Loretta didn't acquit himself well tonight? That'll teach Joe for putting him in the lineup.

NicJ said...

first sweep of the season. YAY.

NicJ said...

The dodgers turn to the tigers/twins and say "so your mom forgot you too, huh?"

Orel said...

Nic, love the left-at-school analogy. Who can't relate?

JuanLove said...

1 hit

I just can not get over that.

Is this worse than all those games we left amillion runners on in our little(or big) hell streak?

we've been awful since like the ASG

Kyle Baker said...

JL, to wit:

At first we made no mistake
Right up 'til All Star break
Then started the stench
Now we're struggling to clinch
Don't know how much more I can take

NicJ said...

I wouldnt say that JL, we were going pretty well before this roadie.

NicJ said...

15-11 for sept isnt terrible.

JuanLove said...

i guess we had a nice little streak going against the giants, pirates at home and dbacks, but before that, yikes.

and now, yikes

So what movie re-enactment is Joe and Larry playing in the clubhouse right now?

Joe going to the gun cabinet, pulling out a huge ass gun, and then going 'say hello to my LEETL friend' to the rest of the clubhouse...

OR Larry doing the Champagne is for closers speech...'you call yourself a baseball player, you sonuvabitch?'

Nostradamus said...

If this party gets held hostage much longer, it's going start robbing banks and calling itself Tanya.

karina said...

See the bright side: the only swept of the season came towards the end, while a two-game series.

Wanna trade places with the Mets?

NicJ said...

All that positivity will give you an ulcer Karina.

Keep it going though.

Nostradamus said...

@karina

Nobody wants to be the Mets, they've got real problems.

Our problem is singular, as in one game, one win. It's like a soccer match that goes to endless penalty kicks, or someone who tells a great story but refuses to tell you the ending.

Suspense can't be maintained at this level without some of us getting a little loose in the head.

Steve Sax said...

I am honestly glad I haven't been around to watch the last non-clinching games. Gameday is woefully insufficient for revelry during wins, but mercifully cold and clinical during losses.

NicJ said...

"We'll open the champagne Friday," promised Manny Ramirez.

see, manny has confidence that the brewers will beat the rox tomorow.

Bryan said...

i took the trip down to SD to watch the game, hoping to catch a Dodger celebration, but this loss was just embarrassing. ONE HIT. And it seemed every time we got a walk, it was erased by a double play.

I just bought playoff tickets with hopes that we will have home field advantage, if not it doesn't fit my schedule.

Steve Sax said...

Bryan, if you can't use 'em, please email us.

But we're going to get home-field advantage, so you probably won't need to email at all.

Delino DeShields, Sr said...

So, I'm going to the game Friday. And does it make me a bad man to want that magic number to still be one then?

Steve Sax said...

Delino, you had asked for a Friday non-clinch situation days ago.

The Dodgers just might comply.

Steve Sax said...

Philly 0.5 GB home field advantage

St Louis 2.5 GB

Josh S. said...

Delino and I will bring it home tomorrow. Maybe they just needed us all along.

Wicks said...

I must admit I don't feel good about things. Is this team capable of just flipping the switch next week and playing well? I'm not sure if they can, the only thing that gives me some hope is the leadership of Torre.

karina said...

I get it all, the Dodgers are trying their best to please Delino!

karina said...

@Nic j @Mr Customer you both are right, guess that's my mechanism of defense.

I'm surprised i haven't been disinherited for my optimism, in some boards i'd bet they'd claim to ban me.

Steve Sax said...

karina, that's why we will always love you here at SoSG.

Karina, patron saint of pessimistic Dodger fans!
