The Giants wore their "Gigantes" uniforms tonight, but no amount of Spanish Castle Magic could add fire to their bats. Vicente Padilla pitched six innings, allowing only an unearned run on his third-inning throwing error (nullifying his bases-loaded RBI single in the second). The Dodgers actually had a second consecutive strong offensive night, the main blow being Russell Martin's three-run bomb in the fourth. Matt Kemp and Rafael Furcal each had RBI-doubles and Manny Ramirez scored on that dependable triple-wild pitch combination. Hong-Chih Kuo, Ronald Belisario and James McDonald each pitched a scoreless inning in relief, and James Loney added a two-run jack — his 12th home run, all on the road — in the ninth as the cherry on top.
Dodgers now have outscored the Giants 19-4 in two games. Save some for tomorrow, boys!

Heath bell sucks, again.
Ever-reliable Padres allow the Rockies to tie it in the ninth.
Good thing we didn't trade for him.
damn padres
Do we think the Pods are doing this on purpose?
Extras in SD. There's still hope.
orel the optimist
What the hell? PGT so soon?
I'm going to the fridge.
If my GameDay is correct, it's bottom of 9th. Is GD behind now?
Cause I can go sit outside in the car and listen to XM...lord knows I need to know this result as it happens, with not a second's lag time.
MSB flies out. Realizes that he's not playing the Dodgers.
I think Heath Bell wakes up in the morning, takes a piss, and then thinks "How can I screw the Dodgers today?"
A.Gon K's.
Pods suck even more.
@MLASF. I hope Bell pisses himself next year when he fails to secure a spot with a MLB team.
Then eats 4 tacos.
RB, you blocked my comment to MLASF, making it ust dangle out there like a Sanchez "breaking" ball tonight.
Headlel flies out.
Pods go Electrolux.
Nooooow we go to extries. Correct? Can I get a Game Day check?
@DB:
Sorry, I'm still in AC mode.
Cripes, my typing is bad.
Headley flies out, and yes, they go to extras.
RB, exactly. Did Karina just kill someone accidentally?
I need a Guinness shake.
Guinness is always a great way to start and finish a day.
Smith strikes out.
2 down in the top of the 10th.
@DB:
It' a new day on the East Coast. Time for Guinness!
Helton walks; Tulo comes up.
Sweartogod, I moved JMart's bobblehead before the game (I was looking for an ALIAS season 4 DVD via Netflix) for the first time in months. And look what he did.
Now I have to tape off the placement of everyone so nothing changes for the stretch run.
Fun with time zones!
Sean Gallagher pitching? Break a watermelon open over Tulo's head.
Tulo singles; 2 on, 2 out.
Now I get to watch Utah and SJ State.
I love college football.
Still watching the Pods suck, though.
Gallagher uses the Sledge-o-matic on Fowler, survives the inning.
You will be watching for a long, long time, RB.
Levine/Suchon talking about how many Doyers fans were in tha heezy. Damn I wish I could have been there to get rowdy with them.
One on, no outs for Pods.
Rancho whatever it is!
3-1 count, bases loaded 1 out
game, walked in winning run
Rancho Cucamonga!
Walk-off walk!
Rancho chicken soft taco!
Yay!
Pods don't suck as much as they did yesterday.
I'm still drunk.
Doyers increase lead and reduce Magic Number to 17.
About time for a break
Now is it too much to ask for a sweep?
BTW, I'm still a little freaked out at the Richie Rich/Caspar comparison.
Neeebs-
It's really hard to put that comparison out of one's mind. It's haunting.
Sax has been cracking up at the contrast between my avatar and what I say because it almost looks like a talk bubble when I comment. Richie Rich says "kill Kill KILL!!!"
Now I go to sleep. I have a full day of football tomorrow, plus that little game against a nowhere-near-mint Milano boy toy.
It's been a great night of winning, watching, and commenting in this space. I'm off to DC on business for a coupla days so you'll be happy to know I will only be spottily attending the GTs the first part of the week.
I guess I need to sober up and pack at this point, no?
Stay Blue, my friends.
Safe trip, DB!
Hey, aren't the Dodgers supposed to lose the game if they scored double digit runs the night before? That's what they've taught me all year long, anyway. Nice to see them thinking outside the box in September.
OK, I've been to two games this season now -- last night and tonight. What say we take up a collection to send me to the rest of the games this season? Then it won't matter what the Rockies do.
In all seriousness, what a couple of great games to be at. There were a LOT of Dodgers fans at the game tonight, much more than Friday night for some reason.
Ubragg, I'm so envious of you going to see the wins you saw. You were wearing Blue, I assume?
Last night on post-game, they kept going on and on about how many of our supporters were there. Strong, strong showing. Like it was in SD the weekend Manny came back. The phrase "[Fill in the blank with team name] Nation" is way over-used at this point, so I won't use it, but we have that feel.
Man, I hope my flight has WiFi capability so I can GameDay it. Regardless, I will flip the bird to the Redbirds on my way over them. Cause I'm classy like that.
Of course!
sku-douche!
No, or little DB today?
MLASF will have to step up in his place. I'll be in and out.
Are we all chipping in so Ubragg can go to today's game?
