Game 152 Thread: Sept 23 @ Nads, 4p

Chad Billingsley (12-10, 4.05) vs. Ross Detwiler (0-6, 5.80).
DODGERS' MAGIC NUMBERS: 2 (to make playoffs), 6 (to win division)

COMMENTS: This may not be Chadley's last chance to redeem his 2009 season, but it's his best chance. A poor performance by Bills against the Glass Joe of the majors would just about ruin his chances of starting the in playoffs. However, a strong performance wouldn't necessarily guarantee him a start, and a so-so performance would just leave us all frustrated. Hopefully the bats will follow their cue from yesterday's drubbing and provide Mr. Thighs with some run support, allowing Chad to Punch-Out!! the Nads!

Andre needs to put this game outta reach

A deep flyout will do here.

Dusty Baker said...

Just get the fuckin run in already. Not that hard.

Mr. Customer said...

Dre declines in the non-walkoff situation.

Dusty Baker said...

Today is your luck day, Saul Rivera!

Mr. Customer said...

Make it stop! You're the Nationals, all your pitchers suck equally! Just stick with one!

Nic j said...

Ugh, let's get a run this team doesn't need another xtra inning game.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Well...

At least Manny gets a shot with the bases juiced! I'd hate to be the guy to tell Rivera what he's inhereting.

Ken said...

Andre's powers do work on the road

Ken said...

Don't make me poop, either!

Dusty Baker said...

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

That was a fail for Andre and Manny, not Kemp.

Nic j said...

Chads bad mojo is still all over the game.

Fred's Brim said...

agreed - gotta do your job there

Mr. Customer said...

@Nic j

That's actually kind of disgusting.

Mr. Customer said...

ugh.

Mr. Customer said...

Shit.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

This won't end well.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

We did not deserve to win.

Nic j said...

The Chad jinx continues.

Steve Sax said...

Mr. Customer said...

@MLASF

You ain't lyin'.

Steve Sax said...

But at least Thome got a hit!

Steve Sax said...

Rockies are down 2-0 in the fifth.

Braves up 5-2 in the 8th on the Mets

Fish down 6-4 to the Phillies in the 8th

Cards losing 2-0 to the 'Stros

Fred's Brim said...

I blame Saxy and his overconfidence in the Thome post

Fred's Brim said...

Steve Sax said...

5-0 Padres over Rox

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

I have some good news, though I will wait to post it on the MFPGT

Bayareadfan said...

Chad really is cursed? How does the team go from a no hitter to impending loss, with bases loaded epic fail interspersed, in like 45 minutes?

Nats had what, 5 hits? And they won?? And we had 4 straight guys who couldn't get the ball out of the infield with the bases loaded in the 9th?

Some strange voodoo in this game.

Nic j said...

did he happen to pick up any cursed Tiki?

Seriously though it seems like the dodgers play like crap everytime he pitches. Thats not necessarily his fault, but that doesnt really comfort me in games he pitches.

Steve Sax said...

6-2 Pads, end 5

Nic j said...

espn just cut out on the giants with the bases loaded to show brad lidge throw practice pitches.

HAHA

Nic j said...

and he gives up a lead off double.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

@Nic, I can just picture it now...

"2-2 to Sandoval: Outside! 3 and 2 to Pablo! The runners will be in motion on the pitch. Mulvey is set at the belt. He looks to first, to third, now into the windup, and here's the pi-"

"We interupt this meaningless game between two meaningless west coast teams to show the Philly's crappy closer throw practice pitches!"

Nic j said...

"We interupt this meaningless game between two meaningless west coast teams to show the Philly's crappy closer throw practice pitches!"

haha, thats exactly what my friend just said.

Nic j said...

a gift strikeout right there.

Bayareadfan said...

This is just not our day. Phils losing would be good for us, so of course the Marlins will fall just a bit short and lose the game because they couldn't get a run home from 3rd with 1 out...

Nic j said...

BS 11

LOL

Fred's Brim said...

*hackhackcough*

JuanLove said...

this is pretty ridiculous

lidge just blew another save

Nic j said...

well that worked out nicely.

Fred's Brim said...

wow Lidge, you know you aren't an Astro anymore, don't you?

Fred's Brim said...

Charlie Manuel just filled his colostomy bag

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

FB just won the one-liner of the day with that gem.

Dusty Baker said...

"Charlie Manuel's colostomy bag"

New Phils blog.

Dusty Baker said...

Nice work, FB.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

It looks like there will be no MFPGT, so I guess I'll say it here: the city of Walnut has agreed to the new stadium proposal for the City of Industry. People, I give you the NFL in Los Angeles.

Dusty Baker said...

MLASF, I'm dying to hear your good news and I ain't seeing any MFPGT.

Nic j said...

THE LOS ANGELES JAGUARS!!!

haha

Dusty Baker said...

Scratch that last comment like a lincecum.

Dusty Baker said...

Cards lost, Phiws lost, Rox losing...if we had to lose, this would be the day.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

One name I'm hearing is Minnesota. I wouldn't mind becoming an Adrian Peterson fan.

Dusty Baker said...

City of Industry Vikings?

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

I would expect the team to change its name if it can't fit in. And it would be Los Angeles (Blank).

Dusty Baker said...

Los Angeles Industry

Dusty Baker said...

MLASF-

Totally not meaning to ask a leading question, and clearly you are happy with this new development, but is it a great thing for this to happen in/around City of Industry, do you think? Personally, I'd rather have it nearer or in the heart of LA, eg downtown.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

Beggers can't be choosers, Dusty. I just want a damn team here. Besides, it's much easier and much more cost-effective to put it in Industry rather than Downtown. I can't even think of anywhere to put it. Besides, the team would probably play in the Coliseum until the stadium is complete.

Mr. LA Sports Fan said...

I used "besides" way too much.

Dusty Baker said...

I smell what you're cookin'.

Orel said...

MFPGT up...sorry it's late!
