No Manny, but O-Dog is in. I predict the score will be 5-2.
In our favor, of course
I'll be at the game tonight. I got great seats behind the Dodgers dugout for free from a work contact. I will be the guy who looks astonishingly like Brad Pitt (it's a curse really)
Serious Gagne is in effect tonight since the Giants won earlier
I'll be in the Yard in awhile. Was incorrect earlier about the seats. I'm in section 8 field, toward the very top. Wearing my favorite blue "42" hat, trying to capture some Jackie magic.
Dusty... I might be sitting next to you. I'll also be in Section 8 towards the back! Go Blue!
Hell yeah, J Steve! We're row Y, specifically, seats 1-4.
THINK BLUE!
I'll be right in front of you in row X! See you there!
Cheers, J Steve!
Rox already up 2-0.
2-1 Rockies, top 4.
Giants already won.
I don't know how I'll survive tomorrow without the Dodgers on until 5.
@ MLASF
At least it's 5, not 7. Otherwise we might have to find other pursuits.
My internal clock is used to 1 o'clock though, and I nearly went insane waiting for last week's 10 o'clock start.
I know what u mean about an internal clock. It's like "It's tiiiime for Dodger baseb..." - no it's not.
Can I have this line up:
Lopes
Russell
Cey
Garvey
Guerrero
Baker
Monday
Yeager
Stewart
1-0, did we just lose?
I really want a laugher tonight.
I hate Everth Cabrera, mainly because he makes me want to type Evereth.
At the game. Kershaw signed a ball for Christine about twenty minutes before first pitch. That was nice; we've been wanting his for a while now.
Erin's in!
Furcal singled? What is this demonry!?
I sense since Erin's at the game, we'll have her magic. Two on, no outs.
Pictorial proof of the signing:

give that kid a raise!
great slide by Young Dre too
OK Randy, shut these mofos down!
I will try to work my magic (further) on this game. For now, I'm leaving the interwebs.
Oh, but Karina, an etiquette question: I'm thinking of an avatar change. If the Dodgers win tonight, am I stupid to change?
P.S. It's been noted, and I'm sure I've even said it myself, but Eckstein is downright TINY when compared to normal-sized men.
Erin, i wouldn't change it tonight. Let's not defy the good start, you could change it tomorrow.
Have lots of fun there!
Erin P.S: love the picture, by the way.
I just realized there are tons of venezuelans in the NL West, maybe the most in all the MLB.
Hey, we have a lead! Is that allowed?
It is allowed, Mr Customer. Don't be so mean, it's still early in the game :)
They have to win tonight. I have an awful flu, sore throat. body ache, cough and i had some fever early.I shouldn't have walked in the rain, on my first day of the flu, then standing up getting wet listening to some political speech, walk a little more on a humid and hot weather and finally getting in a car with the AC on.
Now all my friends are having fun and i'm at home sick :(
@karina
I didn't intend to be mean, just sarcastic. Wolf looks like he's over his first inning doldrums, hopefully we can pile on a few more.
@karina,
...and feel better, too!
Way to waste a perfectly good balk, O-Dog.
Of all the ball parks in all the towns in all the world, and J Steve has to biy tickets right in front of me - hilarious!
feel better karina - a Dodger win is worth at least a degree or two off your fever!
heh "Balsley"
Here is our opportunity to blow this open
Beast mode activated!
The wheels have come off the Padres' truck
yes!! a bad play goes in our favor for once in the last 3 months!
J. Pierre in play (runs)
I can't believe JP has been an offensive upgrade in this game.
JO, once again having a game! In play, run(s)
I swear Juan is the Dodgers' good luck charm. A 10 million golden goose.
@Mr. Customer @Fred's Brim Thanks for the get well wishes. Without a doubt, a Dodgers win would be very good. Last night was awful
San Diego, German for whale's...
well, you know the rest
Get better, Karina! The Dodgers will lift your spirits, if not your health.
How I loathe Everth
Just one more run and my prediction comes true
(crickets)
Latos looking for and early exit. Keep the hits coming, guys.
Grand salami would be nice
We are seriously already 1-9 with RISP?
1-9 with RISP and we're up 4-2. Says a lot!
You can thank Everth Cabrera for four of those six runs.
It's the last of the Mujicas.
I never tire of that joke.
Yank!
There's Mr LA SF's 5-2 score! Amazing!
But I want more runs.
GJLAR
2-10!!!!
Loney may be turning it around.
We've hung a deuce in three of the four innings.
WTF!?! How did BYU beat the sooner?
Looks like USC gets to jump a spot.
And wash and LSU are tied coming into the half!!!
MADNESS!!!
@Nic - Not only that, but Florida failed to cover their 70-point spread against Charlseton St.
Furcal doubles!
@Orel thanks! you are right, at least a win will lift my spirits.
7-2! They're blowing the cover off my prediction!
*rubs eyes*
Offense?
Between his performance and the nice story posted by Sax, i've decided he's King James again.
we are rolling! What a great feeling
@Karina
Copa del mundo qualifying game. Chile and Venezuela tie 2-2
Right now on DodgerVision:
"Cruise the Mexican Riviera with Steve Garvey and the Dodgers!"
Is Daddy taking you boys with him on the trip?
Who's gonna bat for Lobo?
Thome, not Manny. Interesting.
@Neeebs we are tied!, though it's been the best game of the Venezuelan team in a while.
Thome needs the at bat.
Were they just playing "Kashmir" at the stadium?
Tronny with the big beard! Can we call him La Barba? But that's feminine. El Barbo is The Catfish - that might be a good nickname for him
Either way, he's out after a pair of weak ground ball singles. Breezy to face AG
Yes, Neeebs. Christine confirmed it for me, since I don't know the song.
Breezy with the nasty hook to get AG! 7-2 good guys, 3 outs to go
I think the Phillies needed Sherrill more than the Dodgers needed Lee.
@Erin
Must be Sherrill's walk in music. Pretty cool. Led Zepplin at the stadium
Once again, I join in with "Dont Stop Believin'." I've chosen to look it as always positive, no matter the score. If we're losing, we don't stop believin' in a comeback. If we're winnig, we don't stop believin' in the potential of this team.
I just like to sing it, even though it basically goes against everything I believe in with regard to baseball, so I have to justify it somehow.
I'm getting worried about kemp. He has been chasing junk again lately.
Crowd singing along loudly with a mariachi song. Christine surprisingly doesn't know it (her grandmother was Mexican). Pretty cool moment, though.
And it did make Christine cry.
Viva Los Dodgers.
the Great Gazoo helmet!
Wins don't come easy, anymore.
oh James, you may not get another meaningful inning again this year
Tying run ondeck now that JMac has loaded 'em withnone out. Sacesituation: bring in brox!
JMac is so inconsistent
Wow. This is not easy to watch.
Had anyone thought to remind the Dodgers that these are the PADRES??
Lots of miscues in the field recently...
Don't remind broxton it's the padres. He melted down the last time in San Diego.
whew - that was close....
WE WIN!
there it is. good recovery, JB
Wow, that cabrera at bat was a little too easy.
[heart begins beating again]
USC wins.
Dodgers win.
And just as important, Oklahoma loses!
Glad your heat is beating again.
What's a saturday night without any "excitement"?
Dodgers win!
Sleep tight everyone.
Kokimon goes tomorrow - it will be really go to see him on the mound. hope it goes smoothly and we can get him some runs
HFY!
Dead tired and need to hit the sack, because I have oh so busy of a schedule tomorrow (generally consisting of padding around the house nervously before game time and posting smack/masterful insight on a certain Dodger blog). In lieu of a post on the HFYPGT, I wanted to note the following:
Wolf wins his 100th. Must've been the reason the first TWO calls on Dodger Talk after the game tonight were from people seemingly howling likes wolves. Either that, or it's the full moon.
Let's go on what the kids now call a "win streak."
Crusty, out.
Hey, it was a great game, but made me a little nervous.
Unfortunately, it was only my second game of the year. Even more unfortunately, the second time I've missed Manny this season - the first game (also a win vs. the Pads), was during the suspension. I still haven't seen him play in person...
And it was great meeting fellow-commenter Dusty at the game. Weird coincidence that my wife and I were sitting right in front of him!
Hope you got some good pics of the game last night, J Steve. 'Twas a good angle. I had fully intended on doing the same, getting as far as loading up the camera in the car pre-game. Then the conversation went something like this:
Dusty, driving south on the 110, somewhere near Avenue 42: Can't wait to get some good shots at the game tonight. I brought the good camera and lenses, and charged up two batteries.
Mrs. Dusty, thinking about ho to jump out of a moving car: I, um, took the camera inside this afternoon because I didn't want it to get too hot.
*perma-sigh*
Sorry to hear about the camera, but at least it wasn't overheated!
We got some good pics. My wife got more excited about taking post-game pics. We went to leave though the loge level where we came in, but accidentally took the second escalator up to the club level. We went through the area with the suites and to the club level seats, where my wife started taking a bunch of pics of the cleanup and ground crews.
It's different on the club level - the ushers don't rush you out like they do on the other levels... it felt like we could've stayed a lot longer if we wanted.
J Steve-
Some of my favorite pics I've taken at the Yard are ones not of the game itself, but rather of people or the stadium structure or the odd sunset and whatnot. So I totally know what you mean. There are a million stories out there in every seat and with every concessionaire.
