Congrats to the Angels, AL West Champions

ANGELS 11, RANGERS 0

Oh yeah, that's how you're supposed to close the deal. Going into this game, the Angels had had their troubles too, losing four straight including two of three from lowly Oakland. But now, the Angels can rest their regulars for the last six games of their season.

In all seriousness, congratulations to the Angels, AL West champions; considering everything that went through at the beginning of this season with the shocking death of Nick Adenhart and their (understandably) losing their way early on (they were 6-11 in late April), they showed a lot of guts by slowly working their way back into a winning ballclub.

Here's hoping they fare better against Boston in the postseason this year; they definitely have some ghosts to exorcise that won't be solved by an omnipresent rally monkey video.

Damn, Sax, you went and got all adult and high road on us. In contrast to the MFPGT comments the last hour. I'm sorry I'm a child about this. Maybe I should just head for Sleepy Mountain and call it a new day tomorrow.

The angels marketing department is already hard at work on a rally gorilla. Yeah, that will work in the playoffs.

Continuing the low road theme I've personally adopted:

"I've got your rally gorilla!"

Is it strange/ironic to be dousing Adenhart's jersey in a drunken, wanton manner given that it was that very substance that led to his untimely death? Just sayin'...

well when you say it like that....

they mean well though

I don't doubt at all that they mean well, JL. Not at all. I know they do. There's a lot of character on that team, and I'm sure they mean well.

There's an AL West now?

This is starting to turn into an Angels blog disguised as a dodger blog.

Sorry guys 6-4-2.blogspot.com did that first.

Hey, I love 6-4-2. Rob was always very supportive of us when we Sons started, and I've always appreciated his support, throughout our blog's history.

I have no problem with the Angels winning their division and hope they do well in the postseason. That said, I snipe at them too sometimes; you guys all know that I'm the last person to act like an adult. But on the day that they clinch, I can stand up and applaud.

Now back to your regularly scheduled rally monkey, waterfall-in-centerfield hijinks.

I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention I was to busy watching the fireworks shoot out of the rockpile.

I keed, I keed.

Latter part of this discussion brought up an interesting research project: Read 6-4-2. Noticed this passage in the meta area of the site:

Manifesto
Every blog must have a purpose, as a dog must have fleas. This one's is

* working as hard as possible at seeing Frank McCourt to the door.
* getting as many belly laughs at his expense as possible in the meantime.
* cheering on the Dodgers and Angels, the former despite whatever bankrupt stupidity the McCourts may inflict upon that team.

If I amuse, instruct, or edify in the process, well, so much the better."
