The Assassins' Circle, Kill Thread 7

"You guys shoot like stormtroopers." - Keven C

Yesterday's Kill Thread was one for the ages. Was it because it was posted at 9/9/09 at 9am? Whatever the reason, when all three survivors missed the mark with their collective four shots, we were left with a most unexpected, bizarre non-ending that I certainly didn't see coming.

But you know who did foresee the craziness, 22 hours before it all went down? See 4:59pm here.

So I guess we'll rack 'em up and do it again!

Side discussion/rules thread here.

Alright rbnlaw, it's up to you...will you kill me and risk losing to Fred's Brim?

Bold, bold move, GLG. I like it!

That is so ballsy, I'm laughing here at my desk watching it. Godspeed, GLG.

There's no risk, if you use your second post to cover me. So, off with you.

Either way, I'll owe you a drink at the AC Bar.

My tab must be pretty hefty; what with Q7 and Dr. Geek ordering wings and poppers to go with their double whiskeys.

I feel so helpless. Oh well, I'm off to whisper to Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The players went from shooting like Stormtroopers yesterday, to Marine Snipers today. Amazing!

rbnlaw said...

Meh. At least I got my last kill in to lead all assassins in that category. Thanks to my .5 kill of the Dr.

RECAP:

GLG opens with a ballsy gambit, hoping that RBN wouldn't pop him and sacrifice himself in the process.

RBN kills GLG, mistakenly hoping for GLG to cover him on his second volley kill shot.

GLG, pissed off that RBN didn't stick with the plan, refuses to cover RBN, allowing FB to take out RBN with a dagger to the heart.

AS FB stands exposed to a GLG kill shot, he still would remain the last one killed, so he wins regardless of what GLG would do.

The only issue remaining is that if GLG DOES NOT finish off FB, FB will not be able to join the rest of us at the Assassin's Bar.

Done Fred!

and that would be the cruelest defeat of them all

*tips brim*

ok who wants what? to quote Dave Chappelle, paraphrasing Rick James "It's a celebration, b*tches!"

This was kind of like the opening scene from No Country for Old Men.

Double Jamison, rocks.

you got it, pardner.
I got your drinks all evening

and thanks for your teamwork in earlier rounds

rbnlaw said...

That's asking for trouble. I've racked up a few souls and a mighty thirst.

Gagne's lucky glasses said...

At least I can get some damn work done now

Eric Karros said...

Congrats FB! And thanks for the analysis Neeebs. It's not easy triple-tasking this thread, the puzzle thread, and my actual day job, so I appreciate the recap.

Dusty Baker said...

Neeebs emerged as a veritable Matthew Brady.

Gagne's lucky glasses said...

@EK - You can also add to the recap that I killed FB out of the kindness of my heart to allow him entrance into the AC Bar

Neeebs said...

@Dusty:

General Sherman was taken.

General Nathaniel Bedford Forest was taken.

So I guess Matthew Brady suits me just fine. If only I can find me a damn camera.

Fred's Brim said...

Thanks, EK. It was a nerve-wracking couple of weeks, but a lot of fun.

I'd like to thank god, my parents, and Steve Garvey and his sons for giving me this opportunity. Special thanks go out to RB and Orel who were excellent blocking teammates, and GK Larson for flaking that day when I accidentally hung myself out to dry. RB and Glg made excellent opponents these final two days and that really showed yesterday. I wouldn't have minded being killed by either one of you! And finally I'd like to give a shoutout to my special lady, you know who you are...

Eric Karros said...

@GLG - you are a sympathetic soul. It would be kinda depressing to be the only guy left out of the Assassins' Bar.

Thanks everyone for playing. When I first conceptualized it I was afraid it might totally bomb or that we'd uncover some loophole that would make it unplayable.

Anyhow, recap and prize announcement coming soon!

rbnlaw said...

Dude! There was a prize?
I thought killing was reward enough.

@neeebs: Must have Spock!

Gagne's lucky glasses said...

I didn't realize there was a prize either...I wouldn't have been all ballsy if there was!

Paul said...

Is it a vintage Brad Penny Jersey?

Man I missed all the action.

Eric Karros said...

FB - send us an email with your mailing address and we'll send you the prize which will be announced soon.

karina said...

@Fred's Brim many,many congrats!

Loved your speech, too.

Fred's Brim said...

a prize?! for real? I thought were murdering purely for bloodlust. An email is coming soon!

Fred's Brim said...

@karina, thank you! i wasn't as good of a murderous thug as you were, but I got lucky :)
