Post-Game 48 Thread: Slogfest

DODGERS 8, ROCKIES 6

James Loney's bases-clearing double in the seventh inning seemed like gravy at the time, but the Dodgers needed them as the Rockies scored three times in the ninth to bring the winning runs to the plate. Beast Mode stays hot (3-for-5 with 2 RBIs) and Clayton Kershaw evens his record at 3-3. Jonathan Broxton threw a season-high 38 pitches to end the game in arduous, but successful, fashion. On to Chicago!

I keep hearing ads for the Dodger viewing parties at ESPN Zone at L.A. Live. $10 gets you unlimited Dodger Dogs, wings, and nachos, plus a $5 game card. Seems like it would be worth checking out at some point.

Why so little love for the post game thread?

What's the O-Dog's hitting-streak at now?

Unlimited Dodger Dogs, wings, and nachos! That sounds like a great deal to me! I need to start listening for those commercials.

Josh, how much of that $10 is your cut?

Neeebs, back to the greedo? Jabba wa ninji koka otani katanya wenowska.

josh, just kidding, I want to go to the Zone as well for a game. The Friday and Sat games are early this weekend...maybe I'll stop by!

45 minutes to Lakers GT

Heh. I didn't even realize how much that sounded like spam.

Sax: I just read about the controversy surrounding Greedo's demise at the Cantina. Apparently, Han Solo fired first in the original. Later, Lucas edited it in the re-released version, with Greedo firing first (and missing from point blank range). Lucas didn't want kids to think that Han kills without provocation.

Hmmmmmmmmm.

Neeebs, I too found the whole Lucas re-edit a little crazy. Han Solo is supposed to be a scoundrel. He hangs out with bounty hunters in a shady cantina among other bounty hunters and mercenaries. So who the hell cares if he shoots first or not?

Silly question: Did Brox get credit for the save?

Orel said...

Nope, he entered with a five-run lead.

rbnlaw said...

Good. He does get credit for stopping my heart.
