Jeff Weaver (2-1, 3.38) vs. Livan Hernandez (3-1, 5.59).
COMMENTS: We can beat the Mets when they make five errors, not including forgetting to touch third base on the game-winning run. We can beat the Mets when they make one error. So the question tonight is, can we beat the Mets if they don't make any errors? Not that I'm predicting an error-less game for the Mets, but it would be nice to win a game that they didn't giftwrap for us with a bow, right? So far, the Dodgers are 7-3 against NL East teams, which we all said was going to be the Dodgers' true test of mettle after fattening up on the easy pickings of our own division. A sweep against the Mets would indeed be sweet.
Joe Torre had to rustle Weaver up from a deep sleep yesterday, in order to inform him he'll be starting tonight in place of Eric Stults, who has a spwained left thumby (awwwwwww!). Can Shaggy shake off the effects of scooby snacks and lead a group of meddling kids to victory?

Nice work by Leach and Rbnlaw.

Orel, someone is commenting under your name, as you report from the press box.

O-Dog with a basehit, but I'm keeping my answer as B
So the O-Dog made sure Ethier had the chance to get the GIDP
(a) Score now. I'm getting sleepy.

Always the optimist.

Dbacks score in the top of the 12th to go up 8-7
Fly ball to Kemp for out #1.
People chanting "Sweep!"
This Mets batter seems to have the same routine every time he enters the batter's box.
Might that be a PAGAN RITUAL?
Are those people chanting sweep from within the VSPress Box, Orel?
The oxymoronically-named Angel Pagan gets a single.
There is no God. Pagan gets a single.
And here comes Jeremy Reed.
Reed, 4-for-10 as a pinch hitter this year
Darn, if Loney had been on the bag correctly, they could have picked off Pagan
Brox gets Reed to foul out to Loney.
Two down!
Ramon Martinez, 0-for-11 this series
Vin Scully sounds disappointed that we're not seeing Sheff PH for Martinez.
It's up to Ram0-11n Martinez.
Buffalo is nice this time of year.
Vin is really beating up on Ramon here. Maybe Ramon parked too close to Vin's car back when he was a Dodger.
Uno Mas, Brox
Pagan waltzes into second. In a one-run game. Hmm.
