Clayton Kershaw (0-2, 5.46) vs. Daniel Cabrera (0-2, 4.44).
COMMENTS: This is one of those games that you know is going to go poorly for our beloved Dodgers, winners of 12 home games in a row, tying the major league record for consecutive home wins to start a season with the Detroit Tigers. And what about those 1911 Detroit Tigers? They didn't even make the playoffs, finishing in second place, 13.5 games behind the Philadelphia Athletics. And tonight's game, which would give the Dodgers sole possession of the record, sets our 20-8 team (best record in baseball!) up against the Washington Nationals, the worst team in the majors at 7-17, poised for the unlikeliest of upsets this evening. I stare at my magnet schedule, dreading the matchup, and tremble in fear. WAS? NOT WAS!
But enough about my insecurities, access to Dodger promotional items, and penchant for cheesy 1980's music videos. In order for us to beat those pesky Nats, we're going to have to rattle Cabrera, who threw four wild pitches in his last start against the Cardinals. Our rabbits need to be primed to take off. And it will also depend on which Minotaur shows up for us tonight; the one who shut down the Padres on Friday with seven scoreless innings, or the one who struggled in his two starts before that (giving up 15ER over 9IP). All I know is, there's nothing more heart-wrenching than a winless Minotaur (the only starter without a win). Especially one with 29Ks, third-most on the team. I mean, even Hiroki Kuroda has a win for pete's sake! Let's go, Blue!
Oh yeah, and SoSG Orel, Alex Cora, and I (Sax) will all be at tonight's game...be on the lookout for the at-game writeups, which promise to be extra-special indeed...

by 12, scola and sasha look like twins fighting.
I'd be curious to hear Martin speak French. I know he can speak it, but he never has in front of anyone.
Scola and Vujacic look like brothers
sasha is diet scola.
It's like one of those twin episodes of Star Trek, only with better special effects.
haha Nic!
or scola extra i should say.
gotta be a homer.
wow this game is getting out of hand, refs are gonna be quick with the whistles in the 4th
fish knows how to send a message.
flagrant 2, you gotta be kidding me.
Fish is the Denzel of the NBA.
nice, Fisher...
One game suspension, easily.
rondo can slap people in the head and its a hard foul
oh come on flagrant 2 that's rediculous
Great bunt!. We could use another run, just because it's so much fun.
I say "rediculous" because it makes me red with anger
Fisher just got ejected for a flagrant foul with 13 seconds left in the 3d
so Mota for 1 more I guess. then leach?
how come there is no such thing as a playoff foul when the lakers are doing them.
I hope the Lakers get pumped up now.
So, I'm slowwwwww
The O-Dog again!
ask and you shall receive, Karina :)
O-Dogg! 10-3!
are Scola and Sasha related to Dave Navarro?
Everyone talks about how the Lakers get help from the refs. That sure doesn't help
i received so i've got to thank!
what happened i was in lakerland?
Looks like Lakers enter the 4th with a 9 point lead
The Lakers need to put this game away.
Just for tonight, i'm not going to bash Juan Pierre, unless we'll have to endure the noodle arm, his feature that bothers me the most.
That was like a homer by Pierre standards.
JP hit a dinger last year in PNC park.
yeah, that has to kill a pitcher's confidence
joe crawford hates the lakers.
Reading your comment, MLSF makes me want to say something harsh, but i'll bite my tongue.
what'd I say? I was refering to Pierre's flyout, not Dunn's popup
I meant Juan Pierre's fly out, not Dunn's pop up.
then what was so bad about it?
Beautiful play by Luke
In the bright side, that Juan Pierre fly-out was a proof of power.
Don't get why Belisario has to pitch tonight. If he does, Torre should explain himself.
nice pitch, G. two more quick ones
I'm confused.
Lakers by 11
The Lakers are playing some smothering defense...
Lakers up 92-81
i agree Karina - if there was a time for Leach to get a taste of the bigs, this is it
so who gets the win tonight? Jmac?
I wanted to complete the sarcasm of your comment of Pierre hitting almost a home run. Never mind.
Beautiful double play!
or was it kershaw, i cant remember,
Kershaw. The Dodgers scored the second run with him still in the game.
Kershaw gets the win. They untied the game in the 5th and he got to pitch that inning.
I think Kershaw was the pitcher of record during Dre's bases loaded walk in the 5th
It's Beimal time!
MLSF, sorry if i can't explain myself properly, sometimes i just don't find the right words to express myself in English.
Joe B! good to see you!
that's alright.
he was safe! the ump wants to get back to the locker room and watch the 4th quarter of the Lakers game!
Beimel deserves a warmer reception. He looks so weird with that uniform. In fact, i'm rooting for him.
Beimal still has a helluva mug.
Bynum can't handle Yao
Bynum just can't avoid foul trouble.
someone needs to introduce loney to tim the toolman taylor.
he's got that drunk-from-rural-Pennsylvania look. I'm rooting for him too Karina
hang onto that feeling, Russ
I fail to understand how a criminal record can help Loney.
meh, i dont really miss biemel.
i meant he needs more power
augh augh augh.
Matt had a nice swing in the 6th - lets see if he can build on that
not so much...
artest is getting crazy again.
i've seen plenty of Home Improvement. The last thing Loney needs is pointers from a guy who electrocutes himself on a daily basis.
Third out.....
NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO
maybe he just needs to talk to wilson then,
Artest is having his "forget about the game, I only care about messing with Kobe" days
Thank you Joe! Good luck Brent!
I think Loney would be too freaked out by Wilson's lack of face to take his advice.
man, no touching in the 4th the refs are clamping down.
Leach is in!
what, a tech on Kobe? are you kidding me? the refs will not let them play!
how does Vin know so much about Colgate?
the game was getting out of hand they have to be quick with the fouls,
Will he define pyro-xeno-necrophiliac next?
Rick and Charlie are talking about Mrs. Leach's blog.
the leach is in the suck the life out of the opposing team.
Mrs Delino on Vin: "This guy is his own pop up video"
or start spilling the secrets of the Masons
Does he know the game's still happening?
i though he was gonna say he killed 13 commies in the war.
argh, his first walk
The record is all ours!
hopefully we hear that song twice tonight!!
LAKERTIME!!
13! I now know 13 factoids about that.
attaboy Brent! look out for your shaving cream pie tonight!
suck it ty cobb!!!
Lakers by 12
that was fun - let's do it again tomorrow! gnite all
shaving cream for the leach.
Let's gp blue! can't wait for the review of the Sons.
Holy smokes you guys, 500+ comments! The Dodgers aren't the only ones setting records! Good job!
