My Baby's Got A Secret

It's been a while since I've linked to the Ventura County Star, so here's a bit on Joe Torre, keeping secrets:

Torre delays decision on future

Joe Torre says he’s waiting to announce whether he’ll return to manage the Los Angeles Dodgers next year.

Torre had previously said he would make the announcement around Labor Day. But he said before Wednesday’s game against the San Diego Padres he is not yet ready to divulge it.

Torre says he’ll let everyone know once the Dodgers clinch a playoff spot or are eliminated.

The tension! So palpable, you can cut it with a knife!

Come on, why would Joe want to return to the two-ring McCourtapalooza circus? With this lineup? After this year? He's no fool. With an elimination number of 11, it's only a couple more bags of Bigelow tea and he's gone.

Mmmmmm, nothing's coming over Torr-eeeeeeee.

I think it's safe to say that Joe has been gone since the season started. It's evident that he gave up on this team long ago. You reach a point in life where putting up with a lot of BS and aggravation is not worth the price regardless of how much money is thrown at you.

Hmm, sounds a lot like my former marriage except the money part.

I wanna slip some Earl Grey in Torres' Green Tea.

Damn, MB, I was totally going to go there with the marriage bit but then you closed out your comment with the punch line.

*stews in his own comedic juices, frustrated*

MB, you were married to Torre? I'm confused.

Oh Saxy,
How you misunderstand me. Between you and Spanky, I am thoroughly being abused! See this avatar? I realize at age 49 I may not be as young, thin, or as cute as I used to be, but Torre? He is a bit too mature as I like them close to my age or a tad bit younger. He is definitely not my speed nor the type I go for.

Torre anecdote:
Several months ago I had dinner wih one of your former teammates. Joe, his wife and family happened to be at the same restaurant. Good natured ribbing occured as to whose team would fare better this season. Joe graciously sent a very fine bottle of wine to our table which was thoroughly enjoyed. That is the closest I have ever been to the man.
