I'm not sure what we've come to when Simers is the voice of reason.

Still, I agree with most of what he says. And any article that works in a Jeffrey Dahmer line is a winner by me.

Kyle Baker said...

I'm too skeptical to click on the Simers link.

I liked Lyons' piece. i'll try to describe my feeling when Rollins hit that ball and we all knew what was going to happen after. It hit me the same way it hits me when I am driving on wintry roads. Sometimes when you are braking, you will hit patch of ice and start sliding. The feeling you get immediately after that is what I felt when Rollins' hit was sailing over second base.

Is there a way he can write his color commentary instead of speaking it?

My world is upside down. Simers did write a fair piece with rational arguments. Bigger still, he defended Manny. Shit, he even sounded like he understands Manny.
I would never get close to doing that.

MSTI's analysis of the "Ace" conundrum is spot on. Great work.

I don't want to listen to reason (in general, not saying T.J. is reasonable). I want to whine and complain all day. And buy a record player. Even if it's financially irresponsible. Sigh.

Nostradamus said...

Fanerman's seeking the retail therapy.

rbnlaw said...

Great. I just read the Lyons' piece and the hurt started all over again.

My idiotic optimism for next season wiped out. Despair creeps up and sets in.
I am empty.

MR.F said...

Yeah. I figure I can save all the booze money up. And then I'll only be a couple hundred short for the record player...

Paul said...

Shit now Soupy Sales died. My life has totally changed over the last 48 hours.

MR.F said...

Sorry to hear that Paul =(.

Fred's Brim said...

what are you looking to buy, fanerman? one of these?

rbnlaw said...

NOT SOUPY!!!!

C'mon everybody, "Do the Mouse!" The dance till "Your Brains (will)Fall Out." I used to watch his show every day as a kid. Pie in the face? Soupy was the master.

FB, I was thinking something like:

Really, I have some rewards money, and I was hoping that I could just put up a little bit more and get a decent turntable for that. But, it seems like to get a turntable I'd be satisfied with, I'd have to spend more than that. And I'm not really in that position to right now, since I should be saving for more important things (that I actually need). Not that that may completely stop me from jumping in anyway. Damn my inability to just make do with the entry level stuff.

Nostradamus said...

Hmmm. Scientology dot org banner reminding me to get my Thetans checked. That's new.

Nostradamus said...

OK, now the Phils Championship gear banner ad is back. There's that old familiar hate boiling up again.

Josh S. said...

I like the "Beach House Giveaway" banner ad. Frank's giving away Jamie's house?

Paul said...

I blame Frank and Jamie for all of this. Their timing was awful and now they have Soupy's blood on their hands.

Not exactly what most of us want to hear:

http://tinyurl.com/ylj6hpv

My bullshit detector is going off like crazy. Like this jewel:

"Said Torre: "One thing we showed was the personality to handle big situations and important series."

Yeah...I mean NO! No we did not. Maybe in spurts, to be fair. But NO. That was the problem, in a nutshell - we weren't able to step it up to that next, big boy level.

Kyle Baker said...

"Colletti and Torre also addressed questions about the executive suite drama between owner Frank McCourt and estranged wife Jamie, who was fired this week as CEO.

"I don't anticipate that it will," Colletti said, when asked if their divorce would impact the baseball operations. "I don't know for sure, but I don't anticipate that there's been any change in how we do business in the last few weeks.""

No...I mean YES! Yes it will.

Kyle Baker said...

Man, I hate trafficking in gossip. No really, I do.

Here is some hardcore McCourt shit (in terms of divorce, not fettish):

Whoa:

"...and inappropriate behavior with regard to a direct subordinate..."

MR.F said...

And the plot thickens! Yeah, I think our meltdown is partially their fault. Couldn't they have just kept their mouths shut until the season was officially over?

Paul said...

Did she free James Loney?

MR.F said...

o_O

Kyle Baker said...

Maybe Jamie hit the early showers with Manny.

Josh S. said...

INFIDELITY MODE

Kyle Baker said...

Maybe it was Frank and Ned who had it going on, giving new meaning to the phrase, "Beard Mode."

NicJ said...

Maybe Jamie was Ng-ing, Kim.

NicJ said...

DB, are you saying Jamie saw "Mannywood"

NicJ said...

did the bison roam Jamies plain?

Kyle Baker said...

Jamie didn't call Hudson the O-Dog for nothin'.

NicJ said...

Jamie could tell you if Kuo was well Hong?

NicJ said...

Maybe she was caught washing Jeff Kent's truck.

NicJ said...

this is how i spend my friday night?

Nostradamus said...

I'm a little surpised that this has gone on so long without our family patriarch coming under suspicion.

Just sayin'.

NicJ said...

Mr. Garvey i considered off limits.

Also, an Orel joke would have been too obvious.

Kyle Baker said...

For the record, I did recently reference Jamie separating because she really wanted to go on the Steve Garvey Cougar Cruise.

Kyle Baker said...

Do you think she asked Tommy to show her his Lasorda?

Nostradamus said...

Alright, kids. It's time to flee the country.

This is KMRC, signing off.

Kyle Baker said...

Safe travels, Mr. C. Bring us back tales of intrigue and subterfuge.

NicJ said...

I love how that TMZ article says McCourt is cold as ice like it was a new thing. They obviously never paid 15 dollars to park in that clusterfuck they call a parking lot.

Nostradamus said...

I certainly shall.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Maybe Jamie was weaving some dreams, or flattening the brim.

Kyle Baker said...

Flat Breezy - total misnomer.

NicJ said...

Maybe Jamie wanted to Suchon Josh's...

nevermind.

Kyle Baker said...

Oh no you DIH-unh, Nic!

Kyle Baker said...

Did Wolf get a little randy with her, do you think?

Kyle Baker said...

Kemp was really hitting on Jamie a lot lately, but he ended up striking out.

NicJ said...

Maybe Kershaw showed Jamie his Uncle Charlie.

Kyle Baker said...

Jamie is looking forward to getting to second base with someone next season, but doesn't yet know who with.

[Brought to you by Mrs. Dusty, who is reading up on our prospects for 2B next season.]

[Dodgers prospects, not between us, FYI]

NicJ said...

Jamie could Dewitt with Blake.

Orel said...

"Well, that's the funeral, folks. We'll be sitting shivah at the
Friar's Club at 7:00 and again at 10. You must be over 18 for the
10:00 -- it gets a little blue."

Paul said...

Well maybe Frank ignored her. In other words maybe her baker was dusty.

Paul said...

Frank is cold as Ice he is willing to sacrifice our team!

Sorry had to do it.

Mr. LA Sports Czar said...

Jamie was bellying the sario, if you catch my drift.

She was also taking the belly yard, and she was slapping the McPopup.

Kyle Baker said...

There once was a Juan named Pierre,
Who claimed he was treated unfair.
But when he and Jamie dated,
His zeal for left field abated.
So he stopped asking Manny to share.

Josh S. said...

Maybe she had intercourse with a player.

Kyle Baker said...

Nice one, Josh!

Paul said...

I was feeling a bit better with the goofy jokes until I noticed an email about refunding me for game 6 tickets.
