Kershaw P
KKKershaw without a win since July 18. Now is the time, brother Clayton, now is the time.
I'm totally confident in him. If not because I believe strongly in his underlying talent, because I believe strongly in the law of averages.
tonight's the night Kershaw puts the NL on notice
he already has, but this is his biggest start ever.
i'm so excited
Star Wars Day avatar: Engaged.
STRONG, Josh. Strong.
Continued playoff beard growth: engage and accelerate.
Mrs. Dusty's unease with facial hair: increasing.
Window of accepting for the above: closing.
Amount I'm pushing it on our 11th anniversary: exponential.
Life is good, if not challenging.
@JL: And you just can't hide it?
@Josh: AWESOME.
@DB: All the more reason for Mrs. Dusty to cheer for the Dodgers!
If the Dodgers don't win tonight, the kitten gets it.
It's up to you Dodgers.
Avatar mojo in full effect!
In honor of Mrs. Dusty tonight, I'm changing the avatar mojo. Unless anyone has a strong feeling that I should stick with Richie Rich, who's never too far away.
For Clay:
"You're all clear kid! Now let's blow this thing and go home!"
What the hell is this crap??:
http://tinyurl.com/y9ouacq
Victory waits
Orel: I'm about to lose control and I think I like it
im even doing the dodgers a favor tonight and not going to the game, they always suck when i go.
Except for the bobbleslam night.
Nic, the kitten bit is cracking up my whole family.
There is some strong avatar mojo going tonight.
not even a minute into the game and USC already with the penalties.
DB, im a desperate man and these are desperate times.
USC is trying to get the crap out of the way early, I guess.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, Nic.
beautiful finish by McKnight.
@Josh those shirts you got are as cool as ice cubes!
@Dusty Baker Congrats on your anniversary!
can't wait either, i'm watching the Tigers-White Sox game and can't concentrate...
Love the avatar, Karina!
wow, im impressed with the playoff beard karina
Just one more hour to go.
Very nice, Nic.
Is that picture from today, MLASF?
its from the dodgertownusa twitter
USC opening up a can on Cal, 17-0.
For those who watched UCLA lose to Stanford, what happened?
Excellent, let me check it out....
Stormtroopers on the field!!!
@Orel glad you like it. Chose Obi Wan because the state the Dodgers are in, he might be "our only hope"
While we're at it, if someone feels nerdy enough, could chose a Jedi avatar, the team needs all those knowledgeable enough on the force.
@Nic j i've been grooming this beard since the ASG when i was sure the Dodgers would be the first to clinch their division title first. I keep it with the lightsaber because it's very precise, the only problem is it produces a light rash.
@MrLASF that's an awesome avatar!
@Dusty Baker take pictures!
Just randomly ran into Alex Cora (the son, not the real one) on his way into the stadium. Met his lovely wife as well. I consider this a good sign.
Torre should've pushed Wolf back to tonight. What was he thinking?
We are going to win tonight. I just feel it. Saw stormtroopers and a jawa in the parking lot. The stadium seems a little more electric than usual. Neat to meet Erin and Christine in the concourse. Go blue!
Pierre with the campanella award. He was smiling!!!
@AC - Are you sure it's not ranch dressing?
I cant tell who is more nervous, me or the kitten.
@Nic - Just as long as nobody's finger slips.
Hawpe against Kershaw
4 for 9, 2 HR
@Karina - Hawpe vs. Dodgers
2345 for 1823, 345 HR
Why is Ethier sitting? keeping his bat for later in the game?
OK, I'm in for now, but I'm also down to my last beer. These are truly desperate times.
Avitar Mojo activated. F**k you Jobu!
Nice way to start, Kersh.
rowdy crowd tonight.
That bodes well
Kershaw is on pace for 27 strikeouts this game.
LETS GO 27 K PERFECT GAME!!!!!!!!!!
3 batters, 3 K's
The force is strong with this one.
Recap of the rbnlaw family day:
Son's soccer team loses.
Daughter's soccer team loses (but really inconsistent reffing).
UCLA loses.
Downed a plate of Super Mex nachos almost by myself along with 2 large Buds.
In all, a wash.
KKKERSHAW
De la Rosa, 0-5 7+ ERA vs. Dodgers. Nice
This crowd sounds like a play-off crowd.
Or maybe a Giants crowd.
@rbnlaw, are they chanting Giants Suck?
http://twitpic.com/k6j0y
Just hilarious
Has anyone seen the Roy Campanella Story?
It was very moving.
@Bum
Close. They always figure someone sucks.
I'm going by what I hear on the TV.
Looks like Vin's grandson is one of the batboys tonight.
hopefully Clay actually gets some run support tonight.
The pic of Tommy with the Star Wars crew is awesome.
4 in a row.....
KKKKERSHAW
Kershaw just got a golden sombrero
Not going to say it.
Kershaw
Manny
Blake
What do they have in common?
KKKKKERSHAW
KKKKKershaw.
This is just nasty. Kershaw wants that win.
@rbnlaw
But can they strike out three times in the same inning?
SoSG Alex Cora is at the game, and says it is electric.
Great minds and all that, eh nic?
Good one, Mr. C.
Look, Russian paratroopers!
Worked.
Not a K but I'll take it.
Damn it, PO 8.
it sounds pretty nuts through the TV.
Boy am i glad i just bought a surround sound system.
PB,
Nice avi. I remember that game, that at bat, that hit like it happened tomorrow.
Five Ks in two innings for Kershaw!
Aw fer the love of crap
Gonzales, hold the ball up more, I wasn't sure if you caught it.
HE DROPPPED IT!!!!!!!
Damn that Venezuelan!
No offense meant, karina.
Throw the flag, Torre! Wait, wrong sport
2nd time in a week the Rox got that call. BS
Gaddamn umpires have to get out there to make that call. No excuse for laziness.
thats the second non catch for an out they had this week
BTW, what the hell is up with the Beard?
5 K's in a row?
Is that the Golden Toilet Seat?
to be fair he has been out for quite a while.
Can we just celebrate that Manny made contact?
I remember watching Don Baylor play for the Angels. He was great at popping out with RISP.
Can't he pass that along to the Rox?
thats a good sign at least.
The carbonite block is thawing.
@Josh S.
I wasn't gonna say it.
Crowd is way more amped than last night, but Clay's giving them a reason to be.
He may have to give himself run support, though.
@nic,
Yeah, but 5 in a row? They do have a batting cage.
All told, I'd rather have him in the line-up than not.
Maybe Kershaw pulls a Gallardo and homers while throwing a shutout.
yeah, i know.
He'll get his timing back soon
@Josh S.
Look up the "Your Empire Needs You" shirts.
Awesome.
Take that, you damn Dodger-killer!
KKKKKK
I think Kershaw will be starting next week.
Casey still in fine defensive form! Barehand throw-out of Barmes!
Whew! That was close.
Still not going to say it.
Nicely done, Beard!
Kershaw is Krazy
Uncle Charlie from Decatur!
Hot damn!
GET THIS KID SOME RUNS!!!
KKKKKKKershaw through three!
no one pitch outs please.
man, we are making Jorge look better than kershaw.
isnt this the douche that through manny out a while ago?
HE KICKED OUT RUSS?!?!
threw*
Martin tossed while in the dugout! Suit up, Ausmus!
WTF?
These umps hate us.
Does Ausmus have his droid with him?
Martin's wearing the shin gaurds. Maybe the booted Schaefer?
Ausmus is hitting a for the cycle tonight.
We have a lightsaber, er, I mean pitcher's duel!
Wait, it might be Benchy
I still don't get what happened with Martin.
How did the umps have the restraint last night not to toss Kemp, who was jumping up and down at first, but they throw out Martin in the dugout tonight? Especially after that botched call in the outfield?
ok nevermind.
Schaefer is tearing apart the clubhouse right now.
Yeah, Bob Schaefer! Takin' one for the team!
Hey, De La Rosa has a perfect game going!
Fertilizer!
Vin is unspeakably good.
@Rbnlaw Gonzalez is from the same city i am, star of my team, 5-tool player, i even witnessed how he made a similar play but proceeded to throw home plate to get the runner out. Besides, he was unexpectedly nice to me last season.
Schaffer said, "BULLSHIT!"
And I agree.
blue's throwing the ball into the outfield now?
Crap. What are we going to do without Schaefer if we have another 4th out situation?
@karina,
Yeah, you mentioned that before, but damn.
He'd look good in blue
Nice revenge, KKKKKKKKershaw
How was he nice to you, Karina?
KKKKKKKKK
9 through 4.
filthy
Good Golly, Miss Molly!
Aflac: Who was the last pitcher with 20+ wins for the Dodgers?
AFLAC answer: Kevin Brown?
Nuts. Stupid goatee.
Ramon Martinez, 1991, 22 I think.
I doubt it's Hideo
"They'll have to change umpires — [home plate umpire Doug] Eddings is going to come down with a sore right arm." —Vin
No K? What the Hell Kersh?
I'll take it.
Why is Stan Lee working for a carpet-installation company?
Is anyone else over the Batting Stance Guy?
Aflac: Ramon Martinez (20-9 in 1990)
Can I get a 3-run home run, with a side of vindication, please?
Right player, wrong year/win total.
I'm waiting for a pitching motion guy.
PB with the answer; one year off.
Vin: Will there be a 20 game winner this year?
Me: Uhh...
Vin: NO!
Pitching motion guy would be a little more interesting.
De la Rosa possibly hurt.
De La Rosa is hurt.
is he hurt?
ill take a win by default
Hell, we already have ump imitators.
That's what you get for faking the catch, Carlos Gonzalez!
Not wishing him any ill-will, but I'm ok with seeing the bullpen in the bottom of the fourth.
I wanted to knock him out, but not like this.
NOT LIKE THIS!
were all the jedi's in the stadium throwing off his pitching mechanics?
Jobu strikes at the Rox!!!!
Methuselah in!
The Star Wars section must have played a Jedi groin trick.
"They say he's 38 years old"
Contreras was in my kindergarten class. I swear it!
i guess that the risk you run when you go "full steam" for the division rather than resting for the playoffs.
El Tito de Bronze pitching for Colorado. How the might have fallen.
atta boy Raffy. Here we go!
Ha, no perfecto.
He's been cut! Rocky's been cut!
Broke the seal, it's on now!
he meant that as a sac bunt.
"You see? He's just a man."
Note to Kempkershaw:
Pierre has not struck out tonight.
Two AB's and Pierre still has done more than Manny did yesterday.
Manny, for the love of God, get Raffy home!
MLASF and I on the same page
As Alan Rickman would say, Do not...fail me, Manny.
Based on last night, can we call Manny and Blake "Los Mariachis?"
FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Ugh.
two hard hit balls with no result.
It's getting harder and harder to believe the Dodgers can just flip a switch once the playoffs start.
Plaschke, what have you done with Orel?
Apodaca?
Ouch, MLASF!
@Orel
The fuck with the flipping the switch for the playoffs. We just need to win one for dignity.
In all seriousness, that was Plascke's article today.
clay is off rhythm
Kershaw's off his groove.
and look who is up
Nice scoop by KJ!
the ump is off his groove too,
that was a strike.
6-4-3. Alright Kersh, just one more.
Well, at least it's a DP
one more
My brain tells me the playoffs are an entirely separate deal. But my heart misses the momentum of a win or two before they start.
