For Those Who Missed the BobbleSlam

BobbleSlam? What BobbleSlam?

For those of you whose Time Warner cable service allowed you to miss Manny Ramirez' incredible grand slam home run a week ago, it looks like Time Warner Cable will give you $10 for your inconvenience:

An LA Observed reader in Koreatown received a reply from Time Warner Cable, and a credit to her account:

Thank you for contacting Time Warner Cable Email Support. I apologize for the inconvenience with during the Dodgers transmission yesterday. I will be more than happy to assist you.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you had during the transmission of the Dodgers game, I know how frustrating could that be especially during the time of homerun, I have applied a credit for this inconvenience of $10.00, it will be reflected on your next bill statement.

In order to report this issue to the Executive manager team, please contact us at the link provided below. Thank you for contacting us. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience you had yesterday.

Hey man, $10 can buy the mini sirloin burgers that you didn't get for being at the game in the first place. Enjoy!

By the way, Reflections of Blue has an awesome video of the BobbleSlam buildup and aftermath, which we'll embed below:

Speaking of, if you are reading this and have a giant clown head the shape of a ball and are in charge of Jack in the Box commercials, please for the love of god bring back the Mini Sirloin Burger ads and ditch those infernally bad buffalo ranch chicken sandwich ones.

This is clearly one of the most serious issues of our time.

Make sure you put on headphones and turn them all the way up before hitting play on that video. It's awfully quiet.

The guy next to me had his brother call him saying that he missed it on TV because Manny hit it during commercial.

Yes, bring back those burger coupons please!

@Dusty: I'm with you, except for the fact that the girl in the back is pretty hilarious and cute.

And I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Kyle Baker said...

I'm not convinced she's cute. I'll make a point to look during the next 13,267 times I see the commercial. So sometime during the next two innings.

I don't happen to think that this particular cel phone video is of the awe-inspiring variety.

Delino DeShields, Sr said...

That video was TERRIFYING. It's like a clip from that 2012 film.

@Greg Bishop: Fair point. Awesome might be a little much for that cell phone video. I'll dial it back next time (get it, dial it back? ha ha ha ha ha)

Tha's coo. Maybe I'm tired of the term "awesome," and would like to see it reserved for things that truly inspire awe, like the Bobbleslam© itself!

I do enjoy the site. A lot. SOSG is like Dodger Thoughts with beer.

Bishop - thanks for the thoughts - sometimes we're Dodger Thoughts with Chimay. Other times with Milwaukee Best.

Last night I felt like we were PBR, frankly

Hey Sax, are you trying to say that one of the Sons may, indeed, be a Belgian Monk?

Unknown said...

Woops, I meant that for Delino.

Steve Sax said...

@Andrew: chiMAYbe we are all monks.

Steve Sax said...

@Andrew 2: As for being Belgian, I'm not altogether sure. I'm waffling.

Hi guys,

Haven't commented in a bit, but I have to say our family made the trip out fromn Vegas for Manny bobblehead night and this was the first time taking my kids (6 & 10 years old) and it was absolute magic!

I couldn't have asked for more!
