Clayton Kershaw (8-5, 2.76) vs. Manny Parra (5-8, 6.50).
COMMENTS: The Dodgers meet their Bizarro-world counterparts today at the Ravine. Need proof? For starters, they've got a Manny. We've got a Manny. Their starting pitcher is 5-8. Our starting pitcher is 8-5. They've got a losing record. We've got a winning record. Their beer costs $5.00, one of the lowest in the major leagues. Our beer costs $6.75, one of the highest in the major leagues. They're tired of the conceit of this Game Thread. I'm tired of the conceit of this Game Thread.
100SS Game 7 is today, as we go to the final four games of the season! Go to it, sports fans!

Oh man, jumped the gun there. It was just meant to be a practice post. Oh well.
Furcal, SS
Ethier, RF
Ramirez, LF
Blake, 3B
Kemp, CF
Loney, 1B
Hudson, 2B
Ausmus, C
Kershaw, P
XF, -500
Welcome to Bizarro 100SS!
Blake is back from the hand injury that happened after Saturday's game.
Martin sits.
Good to see Beard back.
Come on, KKKKKershaw, knock 'em dead tonight!
Sax-
Uh oh. Does that mean I get -4,375.67 for mocking the 100s game itself in last night's GT?
I like the Matt Kemp batting before Loney.
Booger alert! I just saw you on Cable over the weekend. You haven't aged a bit.
Back home in Los Angeles and ready for some real baseball.
TIme to kick some beachwood aged ass
sorry make that beechwood
Beechwood aged ass - nice.
Get out of our yard you cheap, watery beer selling swine!
I don't like Miller or Bud
I'm actually a Coors man. But the Dodgers should look into some Firestone beer as well.
I've been combing the High Schools all day!
@Dusty: no, I saw your comment. Instead, we're sending you a beach ball!
(I actually thought your comment was pretty funny, but I'm saving it for the 100SS post-season.)
Astros just took a 3-2 lead over sf
Top 7 in Houston
Cain still gunning in the bottom of the seventh, down 3-2
Hope beard is ok
Anyone know the name of the song they play as the Dodgers take the field now? It's metal-ish.
Clay's looking less than sharp.
Kershaw struggles with the second batter, losing an 0-2 count to a walk
Wow! Nice work!
I've come back to claim my spot as the original Erin.
But I'm not staying. I just drove fourteen hours from Idaho by myself today, and for the last five hours I had no air conditioning. So I am tired. I'll watch the game, but I'm about to fall asleep just from typing these few sentences.
Hallo, all. Ended up deciding to go to the game Wednesday not tonight. So here I be.
Pity about Giants currently losing.
that was a solid shot by manny. nice to see.
Hey DB
i will be there too~
Only 1st 20,000 get the Manny posters on Wed.
we are doing that hit the ball hard but right at people thing again.
Epale all! we'll get him around the 4th
clay at 50 pitches.
perfect timing - turned on mlb.tv to see the dp :/
only 1 run out of all that?
Wow, that was fast. Threat averted, dodgers only score one
I'm really worried about Manny. Does anyone know if he had ever a slump like this before?
karina, he hit a ball really well in his first at bat, a nice solid shot to left. I think he is starting to come out of it.
kershaw is less than stellar tonight. He would be in alot more trouble if the brewers weren't chasing high strikes earlier.
Clayton, dont walk bums like Mike Cameron please
i have a feeling a .200 hitter is about to burn us right now.
they talked earlier this season about Manny, that when he starts hitting balls hard the other way, even if they are groundouts, that he's on the road to recovery
cmon, Clayton, quit effing around
Epale, y'all. Kershaw's about to walk in the tying run.
unacceptable
Run scored by caballito, awful.
It's like Bills and Kershaw are polar opposites.
TRADE HIM
i repeat...
its like when bills in on clayton sucks, and when clayton is on bills sucks.
Why?
he walked his when away.
For now...
that ump is a racist against the curveball.
It's funny; when Bills has problems, he finishes with his breaking ball. When Kershaw has problems, he finishes with his fastball.
ok Clay you wriggled onto and off of that hook
Giants lost.
Loney with a single! Guess how many out!
Well, we're hitting 'em — where they are.
i'm so tired of you, Cameron
Guess they can't trade King James or put him on waivers..
parra at a whopping 50 pitches after 4
clayton is very high in the strike zone tonight.
just 50?
sadly, yes FB
looks like weaver is going to make an appearance tonight.
Kershaw doesn't have it tonight. Best hope is for Weaver to put out the fire and the Dodger bats to light up against the Brewers' bullpen.
Shaggy up in the pen.
No MLASF? Hmmm.
hit parade
Joe's got a hook.
lets hope this doesnt spell a bad streak for the kid.
figures, lights out against a red hot Cards and sucks against a slumpimg brew crew.
I blame the difference between the Dodger Stadium mound and the mound in Saint Louie.
Trade a run for a DP.
Well, that helps.
You gotta love Weaves gold chain.
keep throwing strikes, stoneyboney. the inning isn't over yet
Well, it could have been worse.
kinda like us in the 3rd
Parra's ERA says we can beat him, lets just hope his ERA is talking loud enough for the batters to hear.
i think i know what Jeff's strategy was for that at bat
i wonder if the late cross-country trip had an effect on Clayton
Parra's pitch count just shot up to 62 pitches.
Manny's hand isnt right is it? he was just flexing it after the Parra hit
Bulldog versus Bulldog
no more two out crap!
well, anyone want to call it a game?
Wow. We are getting thumped by the Brewers.
fudge
i am tired of our recent inability to not finish
Joe needs a shorter leash on Jeff I think. I know he's there to eat innings but not meaningful innings. may as well leave him in for another one after this
yikes - rereading the post before - "inability to finish" is what I meant.
or I could have said I was going with the Bizarro theme
How depressing. We may not even get to #100.
Tonight we had an inability to start.
i am gonna let you win it for us, Orel. my internet connection is making this more frustrating than it should be, and it's already really frustrating. gnite
Is FB pulling an EK?
maybe manny needs glasses.
Parra has the upper hand on Manny from that showdown in Albuquerque.
Im starting to hear an echo in here.
You're starting to hear an echo in here?
hey look a tumbleweed!
its empty.
take it
i gave everyone a full minute.
Nic with the score! And the assist! And he assist!
No apologies, Nic.
its a hollow victory, but its still a victory.
The LA music awards are a joke.
Is the GBA singer wearing headphones so she doesn't get thrown off by the P.A. delay?
GBA performance rating 4.5 out of 10
She would have got a five but you could see the wires to her in ear monitors.
you normally wear the in ears so you can hear yourself and not the echo of the music and your voice from the PA's. Normally they flip back the wires over your earlobes
Ryan Braun always looks like he is sick.
we pull within 4. Impressive.
A second run! HOLY SMOKES!
I think we could be in a situation where there are no 100SS points won tonight
He is a bit bug-eyed.
Brad has two hits. How many would Martin have had tonight?
Hey Orel, who's your favorite LA Music Awards nominee?
Loretta comes out to Creed. Just bad.
@Sax "I think we could be in a situation where there are no 100SS points won tonight"
Except the ones Nic won.
@Sax "Hey Orel, who's your favorite LA Music Awards nominee?"
Nickelback
I don't know how many times I saw that Mad Men billboard before I realized the guy was a couple feet deep in water.
@Orel: NicJ points would be: zero.
Speaking of which, two hits yields us one sorry run. 6-2 after seven.
you think Loretta could hit one over in batting practice? im not too sure.
@Sax "@Orel: NicJ points would be: zero."
Really?
Vin almost sounds like he gives a shit about the nation's fastest 3G network.
If you make three or more consecutive comments immediately preceding it, you receive no points.
Them's the rules.
Very nice, Nic.
this is going to be parra's longest outing of the season.
WHAT IDIOT WROTE THOSE RULES
When did 31 become a pitchers number?
Chances of this thread getting to 200: same as the chances of going to extra innings.
Hudson's so bored he needs to invent challenges for himself.
Rbn lays down the gauntlet!
NicJ, you always were pretty sweet at cribbage.
speaking of sweet, nice grab by Hudson. His range is juuuuuuuuuuuuust a little larger than Jeff Kent's.
I actually would like to see rbnlaw snag 200 just to keep it interesting....
If we work this thread up to #200, EK will just sneak in and grab it.
rbnlaw, I'm working for 'ya dude.
Orel!
just like his likability.
Five-run inning, right here
Odds on Parra CG?
I thought we owned the Brewers.
Fly out from Furcal. Parra's longest outing is 7.2 innings and he's at 7.1 now, because we keep swinging at the goddamn first pitch
"Should the Dodgers lose this game, they would then be breakeven against the Central division."
I hope we don't start the playoffs against the Central division.
Giants lost.
Snakes won.
Padres won.
Rockies idle.
and we get Gallardo tomorrow?! not looking good.
Sax, do you want me to do the PGT?
Furcal and Ethier must not be fans of 100SS, as their at bats were ephemeral.
Didn't we beat Gallardo last time?
I wish we could just play the Reds all the time.
Manny has been striking out a lot lately.
yeah, but i wouldnt bet on it happening twice.
pretzels
pretzels
pretzels
quick someone get the long flight / sleepy bats PGT ready.
Don't pimp me, Nic.
When did Prince's dad sign with the brewers?
so who is dropping out of the pitching staff when belly comes back?
Two down, one on for the Brew Crew in the ninth.
Elbert?
thats what i would think.
Then they can bring up Elbert and Wade for the playoffs.
Nic J, if there's one thing I hate it's the whole "the Dodgers got in at 2am" crap routine. I mean, come on. When I was 25 I was staying up all hours of the night, surviving on pretzels and beer, working a full day's job and then playing three hours of basketball and then playing videogames all night. The idea that these guys are bent out of shape by staying up an extra hour past their bedtimes is just absurd.
Especially when they have to show up to work at 3pm.
No, tonight's GT will be of a different vein.
I'm going to have to post that rant sometime soon.
Hoffman warming up in the 'pen.
The stage is set for another 4+1 comeback.
Kemp Loney Hudson due up, runner on first, none out.
Why is Juan Castro wearing a Brewers uniform?
Oh wait, it's a different Castro
Sax, I see what you mean, but when the difference between a HR and an out is a fraction of an inch, don't you think the jet lag can have an effect?
Random question: Does anyone ever read "The Envelope", that section of the LATimes? Or is it really just for advertisers?
Sort of like the X Games?
Keep Parra in!
@Orel, it didn't have an effect on my Ryu when I was kicking your ass in Street Fighter
SHI-RUKEN!!!
They live! Adios, Cy Parra!
I'm just kidding. I don't know, it just seems totally overblown by the press, this whole late night thing.
Hey, the MSB commercial!!!
Did I predict the MSB commercial or what???
Quick, DB, predict a Dodger victory!
I mean, we may as well have the announcers say, "Last night, the Dodgers had a team spread that included mini sirloin burgers. With all that beef and cheese last night, it's no surprise that the bats are a little weighed down today...".
Or what about "Andre Ethier was really stumped by his precalculus homework last night, staying up until 2am, so it's no surprise that he's not as sharp tonight."
Okay, time to send 'em, Hoffy!
We love Hoffy!
Loney ground rule double 2RBI
Where was the dive, Bill Hall? Where's the love?
6-4 Brewers
Gerut would have caught that.
Gerut's a Stanford Cardinal.
I predict a Loney ground rule double to right to make it 6-4.
Parra is about to identify with Kershaw.
Some thoughts from the Delino...
Bill Hall just showed why he's still being allowed to play with a .190 batting average.
DeDog Deshields is getting obedience lessons from DeWife.
This game's kinda interesting suddenly.
Yes! 6-5 Brewers!
For those of you at home: "Send 'em, Hoffy!" was the cheer we'd scream at former Dodger third base coach Glenn Hoffman, who held every runner rounding third on a single
Hudson scores Loney, 6-5, with a smokin' base hit. No out.
Me likey!
Make me change the PGT
Make me change the PGT
Make me change the PGT
Meanwhile, DeBaby is pulling a beer out of the fridge.
Let's go, JP
clap clap
clap clap clap
"Manny was caught in a Mini Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich sandwich, which has affected his swing."
Tying run at second! Martin up!
Delino, can your baby get one for me as well?
JP sac Hudson to second. Nice bunt, JP
Here comes Martin, well-rested
Orel - I thought you were watching DeBaby.
Would be fun to see Hoffman blow one. (Even though I always liked him)
Ball 1 to Martin
2-0 to Martin
200
shit!
Martin almost got that one.
Must have been the jetlag
Whoops, 200 there. Ha!
Hey, the game got in the way of 100SS!
Hard to get a hit past Cameron. His glove is made of gold. And sadly, part of his face is made of metal.
