Post-Game 59 Thread: Dephlated

PHILLIES 7, DODGERS 2

Like a beach ball confiscated from a group of disapproving fans, the Dodgers had the air let out of them tonight. While the Lakers were busy going into overtime at Staples Center, further up the 110 at Dodger Stadium, Randy Wolf was busy throwing 6 1/3 innings. Unfortunately, home runs by Carlos Ruiz and Shane Victorino in the seventh sent Wolf to the showers and put the Phillies up for good.

And if you need more proof that the Dodger bats are still in deep-freeze, look no further than the sixth through eighth innings. Former Dodger Chan Ho Park came in for the Phillies and shut down his old team, allowing only one hit over those three scoreless frames.

Well, at least the Lakers won.

Thanks to the unfortunate scheduling conflict, for me the Lakers win has far overshadowed the Dodgers loss.

Yeah, not too fun a game. And Phillie fans were out in force for some reason. The three home runs got big cheers. It was weird.

But on the upside, I disproved that whole "Andre Etiher doesn't take pictures with fans" thing. Check it out how gracious he was to pose with me:

Amazing, huh?

Josh, be careful Ethier doesn't sue. I'm not sure, but I think he's slamming whiskey shots while he rapes a 25-year old man.

He was trying to offer me a bong. That's why I told him to stand so far back.

(That extraneous "it" in my previous post is going to drive me nuts.)

is it wrong if i would willingly trade a laker playoff win for a dodger regular season win?

To make matters worse there was one TV that was showing the Laker game and about half (seemingly) the stadium had to go watch it while the Dodgers were taking it on the wrong end. Other than that... and the loss, it was a GREAT experience. I'd trade and laker win for a Dodger win. Any day!
