Erin - the book in Saunders is that he is big on throwing strike one. Swinging at it makes sense.
Most pitchers try to throw strike one. The point is, the bases are loaded, he just walked a guy, and he's thrown a lot of pitches in the inning. There is no harm in making him work for it.
See what Blake's doing here? Hudson could have done the same thing.

I understand how Blake's at-bat was. All I'm saying is that Hudson should have made the guy work, whether Saunders like the first pitch strike or not. Hudson never even got the chance to "gut out" in his at-bat because he was too aggressive.
I wish we could go POOF and trade Figgins for Pierre. I would even give Figgins Pierre's contract.
I would not be able to get over the way Figgins' first name is spelled. It drives me CRAZY.
Erin - I agree that O-Dog should have probably taken there. The pitch was a strike, but it was a pitcher's strike and was the kind of pitch that you should only swing at if you have 2 strikes or your name is Vladimir Guerrero.
