DODGERS' RECORD WITHOUT MANNY: 24-16
Clayton Kershaw (3-5, 4.13) vs. John Lackey (2-2, 6.10).
COMMENTS: After last night's delightfully unanticipated victory, can the Dodgers pull another improbability from their bag of tricks? Kershaw has been taking more wild rides than Mr. Toad, while Lackey has been doing his best Frank McCourt impression by owning the Dodgers (5-1 with a 1.50 ERA lifetime).
Off-day tomorrow (PCS alert!) as the Dodgers travel to Chicago to continue their interleague hijinks. Russell Martin may be coming alive and Manny Ramirez is scheduled to start shaking off the rust. If things weren't looking up before, they are now. Can't wait for the return of Manny's wonderful wonderful bat!
P.S.: Tonight's game is on ESPN. While we go Vinless, let's hope the Angels go winless.

JINX!!!!
Now through six!!
Jinxjinxjinxjinx!!!
Let's see if that works.
Ha! It worked. But guess who got the hit, andruw jones.
I am going to miss this whole damn thing while over at a friend's house for dinner. People wouldn't understand if I asked to turn on the game. I need to hang out with more baseball fans. Oh well. I guess nights like these are why I own an iPhone. I'll try to sneak by if I can, but either way, Go Dodgers!
Watching Bluetopia on KCAL at my folks until the game starts.
Juan Pierre, LF
Rafael Furcal, SS
Orlando Hudson, 2B
Casey Blake, 3B
Andre Ethier, RF
Russell Martin, DH
James Loney, 1B
Matt Kemp, CF
Brad Ausmus, C
So like, umm, when will, umm, Matt Kemp bust out of this slump?
Let's get this started!
Kobe making an appearance
More Forkal.
way to make him work.
start it off with a walk, great.
Two of those pitches were strikes.
Great start.
Joe Morgan hurting my ears.
web gem!
beard to loney!
Casey Blake putting a highlight reel together this weekend.
That was a web-gem
Wow! a Beard and King James awesome play! then, a Raffy and King James good play!
Happy Father's Day, everyone
That was close.
In the end only 12 pitches for Kershaw.
Kershaw was saved by the defense behind him. I'd love to see him go deep into the game tonight.
Beard wasted no time there.
Qiunlin is NOT close to loney.
4 pitch walk to Martin,.
Boy the ESPN guys are stupid. Forkal did not have the 7-pitch at-bat.
damn
Damn shift.
Before at this at-bat, Rivera was batting .431.
K
walk number 2, lets get a DP ball.
Kershaw's making me nervous.
out of trouble, whew!
So far, so good.
Kershaw's really got to limit those walks.
They might be the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim", but when they play the Dodgers, at least half of a sold out stadium is wearing Dodgers gear.
This is gonna be a long game.
Matt Kemp looks like his dad.
Epale, y'all! Nice to see James Loney getting a chance to showcase his defensive wares on national TV.
Lackey looks pretty tough tonight.
Heard an F bomb from Lackey after walking Blake.
Be a good son on father's day...
Rally for Mr Martin to do something here.
Actually, Matt Kemp's dad looks like he were (was?) his older brother.
Another two-out rally would be nice.
Martin works the walk.
RANCHO ARDIENDO
It's up to Geoffrey now.
Bases juiced for FJL.
2-0 to Loney.
Tough non-call there.
Damn that non-Sean.
Damn. That was smoked.
Darnnit.
On TV, they said King James has the fourth best fielding percentage on the MLB.
But it'd be so nice if you had singled there, Geoffrey.
Nice play by the O-Dog.
Jon Miller sounded so happy about Loney's rifle-shot out at third.
I do not like his announcing, Sax I Am.
While the East Coast bias is clear, ESPN might also have an AL bias too. After all, the DH surely brings higher ratings than the pitcher-hitter.
Dino singles again.
Anna Quinlan flies out to end the inning.
Scoreless through four.
Prince Fielder is a better actor than that kid.
Smoked leadoff single from Bison.
Bid Daddy Brady bunts Kemp to second.
BEAST-MODE
Beast Mode RBI!
Interesting that they didn't let Ausmus swing...but JP works it!!!
Beast Mode!
BFFs at third!
Damn, they couldn't pick up Pierre, but at least Kemp came around.
JP, pretty damn impressive.
1-0 Blue!
1 run is better than no runs.
I hope it's an Angels fan.
Greased-up naked, deaf guy on field.
I like the way Rodriguez looked around like "What the hell is he doing?"
That was a young mistake by Kershaw.
Aren't you supposed to pitch better with a lead?
Big mistake for Kershaw.
Oh boy, Kershaw's got a mess to clean up.
Wow, everything is falling apart in one inning.
kershaw had better settle down
What's the chance we ge out of this inning with the lead?
Kershaw must be excited from the fan on the field.
And now the bases are juiced.
All we need is a triple play.
this is bad...
Comedulce with Rancho Ardiendo.
"What's the chance we ge out of this inning with the lead?"
nil
Abreu has 8 career grand slams. ESPN announcers are jinxing Kershaw.
hey clayton, let's throw a strike
1-2-3 DP!
WOWZERS
wow, gidp!
Not this time, Comedulce.
kobe approves!
Kobe better not be an angel fan.
Any indication if Kobe is rooting for the Dodgers or Angels?
yahoo, clayton escapes!!!
100
This inning deserves a standing ovation.
Never have I been so happy to be wrong.
Kobe likes.
I know he is a Yankees fan, so he probably roots against the angels.
Kobe definitely looks like a Dodgers fan.
bases-loaded wasted opportunities:
Dodgers 1
Angels 1
I would think Kobe's a Phillies fan, though he probably never cared about baseball as a kid.
Kobe lives in Newport beach, so it's probably easier for him to go to an Angels game. Although he's been to Dodger Stadium as well.
Okay, so Kobe's a Yankees/Dodgers/Phillies fan.
Russ works his third walk of the game.
I am here at a bar, and I can't tell if the people here are more Angels or Dodgers fans.
I am, however, standing up and applauding when things go well for the Dodgers.
Too bad it's a tapas bar.
2Ks to finish off the Angels in the inning!
Question for everyone online.
You're at a bar and they have Miller Lite and Bud Light, and that's it. Which do you order, and why?
A little showmanship by the bison.
Bud Lite. It's Drinkability.
I'm out for dinner, but I will be back.
JP scores the run, but gets over aggressive and is nailed at third. Oh well, I'll take it.
We are hitting 'em where they ain't tonight!
Not a beer person, but i'm fond of Bud Light.
MR LASF, I'm going just that. Thanks.
Dumb move trying take 3 but made them pay for playing so shallow.
Forkal single!
Answer: You find a liquor store.
well, that subsequent base hit would have scored JP from second...
Dammit that would of been another run
Classic, Furcal follows with a single.
I hope o dog doesn't have to go to the vet.
A forbidden substance?
Kershaw is, dare I say, dealing.
Figgins is unstoppable.
Clayton owns abreu tonight.
Kershaw brilliant tonight! 7.0 IP, 107 pitches.
this lead is not anywhere near comfortable...
Keep lackey in!
Let's have faith in the bullpen.
Hey look at that! A ball hunter couldn't catch!
Back2back singles from Beard and Ethier.
Damn.
Nic j, ypu sounded like you just saw an endangered species.
what's next? Loney HBP or are they pitching to him?
King James dinger!
Loneyrun!!!!!!!
Loney brings the Geico!
Hooray for Big Game James!
Wow, our first instant replay.
Man they could take that on back.
My eyes say it was a double, my heart wants a home run.
The umps are smoking a couple of stogies right now.
JUSTICE IS UPHELD
Yeah the whirly finger sign!!
Believe your heart, Karina!
Joe Morgan trying to present circumstantial evidence to turn Loney's HR into a double.
Good they didn't take that decision back. Two home runs for King James, not too bad.
Orel, this is a proof you always have to trust your heart.
You know what's lovely of Geoffrey's tonight performance? lots of people saw him and it's not a Dodgers secret.
Sorry to disappoint, Jon & Joe, it was a HR.
"Orel, this is a proof you always have to trust your heart."
Or at least yours, Karina.
Tron must have the most mispronounced name on the dodgers.
C'mon Tron, don't let 'em in this game.
Leach?
My heart sometimes makes mistakes. Glad this wasn't one of them.
What's so hard about "Troncoso"? There's no "a" in it, so I don't understand how he can be called "Troncaso".
Stupid rally monkey.
Tronqueso?
The rally-monkey is so bush-league.
Wow. Hope that isn't an omen.
The Rally Monkey worked right there.
E on Blake or Loney?
"My bad."
Stupid monkey.
Gameday is calling it an earned run, but that can't be right.
Broxton coming in to get the rally monkey of our back.
Blake gets the error.
On ESPN, Duncan spent a couple of minutes praising Troncoso.
Crap, it's GMJ.
Do not groove a fastball here, Brox.
And look who is up.
Starts him off with a slider. Nice.
"Crap, it's GMJ"
isn't that what angel fans usually say?
Very true, Nic.
Cuenta llena!
Redeem Blake!
It seems like the announcer have been pretty negative about our team tonight.
Broxton doesn't like lefties.
One more strike!
"It seems like the announcer have been pretty negative about our team tonight."
Well let's see. Jon Miller is the Giants' announcer. Joe Morgan played for the Giants. Steve Phillips was the Mets' GM.
It'll be a slider here.
And the games not even over yet!!!
Big bad Brox.
I know. One more inning!
Does anyone know what soundtrack was playing underneath that Benjamin Button commercial?
Heeeee struck him out!
"Well let's see. Jon Miller is the Giants' announcer. Joe Morgan played for the Giants. Steve Phillips was the Mets' GM"
oh ok I get it. They are not used to saying good things about teams then.
Zing!
Hugeness for Brox, in more ways than one!
200
Steve Phillips is trying to stir the pot, apropos of nothing.
Woo. That was close.
Pierre needs a chinstrap for his helmet.
What an odd chopper by Forkal.
