More Non-Stories from the LA Times

Here's Bill "Nothing's" Shaikin's lead in today's piece, "Costly acquisition via trade is up in the air":

Reporting from Chicago -- As the trade deadline approaches, General Manager Ned Colletti said Tuesday he has not had a definitive conversation with owners Frank and Jamie McCourt to determine whether the Dodgers can take on a big contract through a trade this summer.

In case you're keeping track, here are some other conversations that have not happened:

  • Manny Ramirez has not had a definitive conversation with every single Dodgers fan, or Bill Plaschke, explaining the fine detail of his transgressions which caused his 50-game suspension.
  • Former Vice President Dick Cheney has not had a definitive conversation with President Barack Obama reaching consensus about initiatives necessary to maintain national security.
  • I have not had the "birds and bees" discussion with my daughter.

Perhaps one of these other non-conversations will also make tomorrow's LA Times. Stay tuned.
