DODGERS' RECORD WITHOUT MANNY: 22-15
Randy Wolf (3-2, 3.41) vs. Vin Mazzaro (2-1, 1.37).
COMMENTS: The A's youth parade continues. Tuesday they started 25-year-old Dallas Braden and last night the Dodgers lost to 21-year-old Trevor Cahill. Tonight it's another rookie, the 22-year-old Mazzaro, who has been in the majors all of 17 days. Still he's been impressive over three starts.
In his last start, Wolf suffered from a case of voltus interruptus, ending up with his ninth no-decision of the season. The Dodgers' medical staff is trying to figure out if Wolf is also suffering from another malady: whooping cough. Get that man some Tussin!

Kemp to 6!
Loney batting seventh? Let's see how that works.
I guess that's where he has to bat, since Kemp, Beard, and Ethier are all hitting well. The only other option would be moving Furcal back, but he seems to be getting better.
Furcal and Martin really should be batting 7th and 8th. I wonder whats going to happen when Manny comes back?
As I recall Martin cut his teeth in the 8th hole in 06. Maybe he can relax and find his stroke there again this year. MSTI says his bat speed is slower this year and that is to blame... sounds reasonable.
He also seems to be less agresive with his swings and at bats. I hate to think that steroids were a part of his game, but the way he has fallen off the planet, mixed with his sluggish play... God I hope not!
Thanks to the times, the knee jerk reaction is to assume that any player that had a huge drop-off in performance is to blame steroids. Let's give Russ the benefit of the doubt! He could just be having a Mike Lowell-esque off year.
Monday says this is the 9th starter the a's have used this year.
Anyone know how many the dodgers have used? I count at least 8.
Kuroda, Stults, McDonald, Kershaw, Milton, Billingsley, Weaver, Wolf...I think that is all.
Eight is correct.
Sweet...did that off the top of my head!
Let's see if we can get Kennedy this time.
Nope.
That was a strike.
Nice, DP cleans up the mess.
K's Cust. Good inning.
Mazzaro must have a date after the game.
This does not have the makings of a strong offensive game.
There's no way this guy can keep throwing smoke the way he is.
In three starts, the most Mazzaro has struck out is four guys. He's already half-way there.
grape drink!
lets get an early lead and let Randy cruise
Wolf with the nice pickoff to get Cabrera.
Beard with the leadoff single.
Time for Kemp to pay dividends!
Ethier keeps the gravy-train running.
I guess the power of the six spot is to ground out to second a la Loney.
At least Kemp moved the runners over.
They're gonna IBB Loney. That leaves it up to Russ.
fudge
This is gonna be a blown opportunity.
That squib shot was Martinesque.
So if no one scores, who do we blame?
Reporting life from lower reserve section 52.
Russ got robbed.
Dammit. Another bases-loaded opportunity wasted.
fark
we gotta break through at some point
Alireza, was there any kind of Lakers ceremony?
MLASF,
Pedro Feliz. Always Pedro Feliz.
Russel is just having a really bad year. Poor guy.
Like with many of my problems, including the wave, I blame Oakland.
I can't remember the last time Russ hit a ball to the right side of the field.
Live even.
Orel - Not sure. I was buying one of the new Brooklyn Dodger pizzas.
I have the sun in my face, but 9 bucks is hard to beat.
Wolf's gotta cut back on the walks.
I can't wait to see "Eesheero"
Randy he's a lefty - why do you pitch him that way?
That was a pretty catch by the Bison.
MLSF is right about the walks.
Wolf not with the greatest control tonight.
And that's why you don't walk a guy with two outs
(arm falls off)
Effing walks...
Ugh. Let's see if we can limit the damage.
Playing from behind again....
I like how Vin says Pierre's cut-off was nice. I don't think it really even mattered, unless it kept Suzuki from getting a triple.
Is it me, or has Juan Pierre's arm upgraded from noodle status?
Wolf is falling behind more than a one-legged marathon runner.
It might be you, Alireza.
Is it me, or has Juan Pierre's arm upgraded from noodle status?
Wolf limits the damage.
Nice, Randy. Down one we can deal with.
top o the lineup up, time to get it cranked up
maybe from angel hair to spaghetti.
I keep wondering when Cust will drop a throw from the ballboy.
So it will be Furcal and O-Dog with one out. Yes, I am that cynical.
Counting the days till Pierre rides the bench.
I wish the Dodgers had a kid like Mazzaro who would pitch inside.
O-Dog launches one! Tie game!
Whoa-Dog!
O dog hit one out of the bark. Woof!
O-Dog must want to get rid of prostate cancer. Let's hope Ethier, Blake, Kemp, and Loney do too.
Orlando reached out and got that.
Bad dog, Nic.
Damn beachballs.
That looked like a ball.
Sorry, Orel.
Damn Holliday.
Aflac: Which pitcher earned the only win for Oakland in the 1988 World Series vs the Dodgers?
On my way home I passed giambi way. I forgot he has a street named after him where I live.
Nic, you're in Oakland?
A pretty dumb question, in retrospect.
Nice snag by Ethier! Smart tag-up by Holliday.
Wolf gets out of trouble.
Nice short-hop by Blake. No further damage.
No west Covina. It's right next to the Corey Lidle memorial little league fields.
Aflac: Rick Honeycutt!
Gotcha, Nic.
bouncer
bouncer
bouncer
way to make the pitcher work guys
Two more foul bunts.
Anyone going to the games on June 27-29? I'll be at all three.
No plans Erin, but I'll be back in the press box on July 1.
Hey, Russ gets a hit! An infield single, but still.
Cabrera with the Furcal-esque double-clutch! Martin gets a hit!
Great writeup re: Torre, Erin.
Pierre gets Russ home, but Juan is out at second. Wolf can get the win!
Wolf only at 77 pitches?
Two on, one out, Wade warming up.
Wolf escapes via the DP! Nicely started on a short-hop by Blake!
Thanks for the compliment, Orel.
Wolf out after 87 pitches over six innings.
Those were smart questions to Torre. I just kept thinking, "Don't say anything stupid."
Wade plunks the king.
ANOTHER ND FOR WOLF
D'OH
Guess that's Furcal's fault for telling Pierre to throw to second, allowing Davis to score from first (!).
Man. I am not looking forward to the angels series this weekend.
Somebody wipe that smile off of Davis, please.
10th ND for Wolf. Man, he must be hungry.
Leach induces the inning-ending DP. Let's untie this tie.
Wolf: King of ND's
Marisa Tomei?
"Man. I am not looking forward to the angels series this weekend."
Likewise.
Wow, that was one of the best GBAs I've heard. Solid 8.
One pitch? You gotta be kidding me
Loney double!
Loney with a G-R double!
Hungry Hungry Tarp Roller
Way to work the walk, Russell!
At least he can still draw a walk.
Just a dunker here, Loretta.
Loretta sends Loney home!
That'll do!
Very nice cutoff by the A's there.
If they hadn't have cut that throw off, Loney would have been nailed at home
Russ did a good job. Loney would have been out at the plate. Although I'm not too sure if that was his intent.
Epale, everyone!
glad to finally "watch" the game and Dodgers winning.
July 3rd is coming closer Pierre
Epale, Karina!
Broxton is still unavailable. Troncoso is the closer tonight.
Nice 1-2-3 by Belisario.
Very nice, Belisario. An insurance run would be nice, dudes.
We don't do that whole hit and run thing very well do we.
Nic, we were doing hit and runs pretty well in April.
Let's get the Beard into the All-Star game.
April seems like it was a season ago.
Huh, Belisario stays in.
One pitch, one out. Giambi retired. Phew.
Belisario closing? so i guess they are resting Troncoso for the upcoming Angels series.
O-Dog just couldn't get it.
Now Torre's got the hook for Belly.
Almost another great grab by O-Dog.
Tron gets the DP! That's the ball game!
DP mode!
Rubber match for the Dodgers!.
great win - that's gotta make Tron feel better after Tuesday
Another series win!
Why the light commentary today/tonight?
PGT is up!
nailbiter of a win for the Dodgers!
