Bottom of the tenth inning and a 4-4 tie, with one out at Giants wunderkind Buster Posey at the plate. It's a sure San Francisco win, right? But Posey grounds to third, and despite a poor throw from Braves third baseman Troy Glaus at third, Omar Infante makes the turn and gets the inning-ending double play to end the threat. Enter Rick Ankiel, 1-for-7 in the series so far, who hits a bomb into McCovey Cove to leadoff the 11th inning. And the Braves win in extras. Wow.
The Giants had a 4-0 lead after two frames but closer Brian Wilson let it all get away in the eighth with a two-run, one-out double by Alex Gonzalez. The bearded Wilson then went and took out his frustrations on a defenseless Gatorade towel. What utter strength from Samson.

And somewhere, a sad trombone plays.
BUT NOT HERE!
What a great way to start the weekend.
I agree with the gentleman above me.
Make of that what you will.
Hopefully Dirty Sanchez's hand is split in two.
Glad to see you and Sax are on the same page, MLASF.
Schadenfreude is my favorite type of freude!
Ahhh! The sweet smell of failure by someone else.

I tried to get that animated gif to post, but I couldn't do it. We've got the panda one somewhere, though.
Too bad we had to let go the IT department.
By the way, major props to all you Dodger fans who have stuck around here at SoSG to channel the Giants hate. 300+ comments and a PGT for a game in which the Dodgers aren't even playing?
Awesome.
Yeah, the absence of Pedro's technical know-how has really been vivid the last few months.
Steve Dilbeck is still bitching about how the Dodgers lack a true ace.
HOW BOUT YOU BITCH ABOUT THE LACK OF OFFENSE, ASSWIPE?
So wait, that's Seinfeld ripping the towel?
Actually, that's Elaine.
The new adventures of old arm-crossing hand-pointing Brianna.
Post updated with ani gif!
Orel, thanks a ton. That night school is really paying off!
I owe you a beer.
by the way, i don't get "UJTD"...
Sax, earlier this season, Vin was talking about how the Giants hit into a ton of double plays. Right after he said it, they did, so he said, "Up jumps the Devil!" Thus, UJTD for a Giants DP.
got it, thanks Josh S.
SoSG UJTD.
From the NYT article on the game:
“Well, that is Pablo,” Giants Manager Bruce Bochy said. “We’re not going to change Pablo. Sure, at times we would like him to show a little bit more discipline, but that’s’ who he is. He’s had success, but he’s also had struggles at times when he does go too far outside the strike zone.”
MCC folks last night calling for KFP to be benched or even Zito'ed.
Somewhere, Hulk Hogan is proud of this test of strength
