Separated at Birth

I bet Mr. The Merciless would keep his ERA under 7 and look less awkward in a Dodgers cap.

There used to be a pinball machine in my local arcade that was Flash themed. When no one was playing it, it would suddenly pipe up with "Emperor Ming awaits." I don't know why this stuck with me after all these years, but now whenever I see Flat Breezy warming up I will have to start saying, "Emperor Ming awaits."

Apparently only one of these two has access to a device used to bend brims and/or collars.

Has anybody read "A Song of Ice and Fire"? At least the 4 books that have actually been written?

Yes! A Ming the Merciless sighting means my day is complete.

This might be a question for another time but after I flipped the channel on last night's game, I started to wonder if (aside from horrible pitching) the Dodgers aren't feeling the effects of O-Dog and Beastmode leaving. O-Dog had the enthusiasm and Beastmode had an insane workout regimen for a 4th out fielder.

Do you think guys might be taking it easy now that they're not around to make them look like slackers?

@Todd: We do indeed have a new Beast Mode this year, one who can't hit but every once in a while surprises you with a rare RBI, like last night.

Garrett Anderson.

I fear this weekend's series. Dodger Stadium may collapse in on itself when Sherrill's and Todd Helton's goatees occupy the same space at the same time.

Leastmode?

@Josh

I'm watching Shards v Phiwwies right now and I'm very scared to see both Ryan Franklin and Werth's facial hair exist in the same space. A new kind of matter could be created.

You've defeated me, would someone say who's this Sherrill's look-alike is?

Dusty's new plan:

The big CA lottery winners are apparently Dodgers fans:

These folks need to be persuaded to put together a team of buyers to take over the team.

I'd be happy if they bought my parking and beer.

Sweet mother of god Jason LaRue has some lame facial hair. It's almost cool for awhile, but then you realize it's not.

Still on the lottery winners...

From an MSNBC.com article on the situation:

"Fateful choice of restaurant

Gilbert had purchased 10 Mega Millions tickets Tuesday night when he stopped at a Pico Rivera, Calif., restaurant, L & L Hawaiian BBQ, to pick up dinner.

The choice of restaurant was sheer luck. Gilbert had been in downtown Los Angeles on jury duty Tuesday. He called Jacki before heading home and asked what she wanted for dinner.

“She said she had a craving for KFC. All I could think about was that double-decker chicken sandwich, and I said, ‘I don’t want that,’ ” Gilbert said.

His first thought was to pick up Mexican food downtown, but he couldn’t find a cheap place to park.

“The parking there was like $8,” he said. “I wasn’t going to pay $8 to park.”

So he stopped at the BBQ place on the way home instead. While he was there, he invested 10 bucks in randomly picked tickets for the jackpot."

Love that the mere image of a KFC Double Down turned him off of going there, and instead he went to another joint that ended up selling him the winning ticket.

It's a crazy world out there, folks.
