Hiroki Kuroda (5-1, 2.87) vs. Rick Porcello (3-4, 5.93)
You, helped us take first place, whoa
Got us back into the race, whoa
Watching D-Train make pitches wild
Gallaraga was so out-styled
Is Porcello mild?
We don't want to seem bad hosts, whoa
Not like we're trying to boast, whoa
But today is our chance to sweep
And make David Eckstein weep
Oh! Our hearts would leap
Don't the Tigers seem so tame
(Breaks they can't catch)
This 80's song is so lame
(These words are a stretch)
Get it? It's from Canadian heartthrob group Glass Tiger! Tiger! Made of glass! Like our fragile opponent! So enjoy the video, especially watching the lead singer's body overenunciate the beat like Steve Martin in The Jerk (or a guy having a seizure).
Oh, and let's win one today, boys, and get the sweep!

Hmm, this GT is not resonating as well as I had anticipated.

Anderson starts and bats 6th. This is why I despise Joe Torre.
Anderson blows.
Helpful Sax?
Definitely good work, Sax. It's just that Lima Time's death has cast a shadow over everything.
Here's hoping Hiro throws a CGSO in his honor.
#LimaTime
Heading back up the state to get back in time to watch most of the game and then the Lakers. I had a great time hanging with some of our crew.
Still shocked about Lima. I have a couple of memories about him that I will share in a bit. See you guys on the other side of the 3rd inning or so.
Let's win one for the Lima.
Just saw Shrek 4 so haven't had a chance to concentrate quite yet. I'm still really gutted re Lima, too.
Somewhere out there, it's Lima Time every day. :-((
Yeah, seems surreal since I've seen him at the stadium just s few weeks ago
LIMA TIME IN MEMORIAM.
The man loved the game and it showed every time he took the mound. Young players take note.
Well said, (F)RBNL.
It's Lima Time for Dodger Baseball!!
On the sofa, Vinny!
This game is eerily like yesterday's so far. Hopefully it will continue that trajectory.
So much for a sweep.
Sweeps are overrated anyways.
Hiro now has to really work uphill if he wants a quality start today.
Gah, Hiro's all over the place
Pods already have a run on king Felix too.
Wow, is THAT a shitty start!
Holy smokes, we're down early.
I'm not online the whole morning and if it wasn't for the GT, i wouldn't have found out 'till much later. RIP, Mr. Lima.
If it makes anyone feel better, Los Tigres scored first in the previous two games, and we still won both.

I like what Torre said re: Lima Time:
“You don’t know if he had confidence in himself or he was trying to convince himself and everybody else that he did. He was a showman, hotdog, but he’d win games. A lot of times it maybe wasn’t his ability but his ability to will himself to do it. And talking himself into it I think he sort of intimidated the opposition, too.”
That's one strange balk.
BALK
A balk! That made my
Sunday.
#BlameKemp
Kemp SMOKES it — right into Porcello's glove...and a DP. Maybe it's not our day.
That was his plan all along.
What a catch!
Luck doesn't appear to be in our favor today.
S.O.B.
What time is the laker game tonight?
Well, at least the we aren't falling further behind
Gutsy AB
We need to hit it where they ain't.
Guys, they can win this game. They are the Dodgers and playing like that lately, if it was April i'd pretty sure they could lose.
These are the red hot, tied in the first place Dodgers. FAITH!
You useless, useless man.
Two innings two double plays.
I'm glad I decided not to go today.
I have faith, Karina. It jsut seems like one of those days where everything we hit sharply is right to where they is.
Stupid Casey Blake. He sucks now that he has the beard back.
@MLASF
Yep, it's a menorah.
For Lima Time:
http://yfrog.com/7gr16gj
That took a while.
KKKK for Kuroda. He seems to have regained it. 3 down isn't insurmountable.
Hi everyone
So sad to hear about Jose Lima. I have such great memories of Lima Time in 04.
Thanks Jose. God Bless you and your family.
I was thinking back to that great Lima Time victory in 2004. I distinctly remember giving work the big middle finger that day to watch at my local bar, Crown City Brewery. Sat there with the bartenders and watched the whole thing before stumbling home down the street.
My beloved bar isn't there any more, and, alas, nor is Lima Time. But thanks for the great memory!
All right Matty, you hit the ball away from Porcello this time!
Bummer of a birthmark, Porcello.
To add to my above note, turns out Lima was a neighbor of mine:

I demand a Beard homer.
Not getting hits and outs in the correct order
Maybe we should try hitting the ball softer. Hard line drives aren't working today for some reason.
Tony Larussa
Dammit. Can't stop thinking about Lima. Why is this guy's death so hard to take?
I have a feeling it's because he was so good at getting the crowd into games, or maybe the improbable playoff win in '04. He was personable, enthusiastic, and just plain freakin' fun.
I remember him going on the Jim Rome Show and just cracking me up.
RIP big man. The best to his family.
Now back to this one.
Yep, RB, I'm feelin' the same way.
Oh, and Garrett Anderson makes me want to kick my dog.
(Don't worry, karina; I won't)
Thanks DB.
When a celeb dies, it's no big deal to me. Lima goes (granted at a VERY young age), and I find myself blinking back tears.
No shit.
I hadn't realize the Dodgers game is on TV.
Sorry for my absence, but i have to sketch big time.
Vin: "That'll do it for Garrett Anderson."
If only, Vin. If only.
Why are we giving him more ABs?
Porcello is getting drilled.
If we can't beat these guys, we can at least beat the shit out of the pitcher with liners up the middle.
Busy day for Porcello
@Rbnlaw (time) your dog doesn't deserve to pay for the ineptitude of others :)
HeadsUp BaseRunning by DeWitt! 1st & 3rd, 1 out.
Dodgers MSB!
Rancho Pauliendo
Oh, he won't karina. But MLASF's wall might have a bone to pick with GAARP.
XP, time to be the man
HOORAY FOR PAUL!
Xman to the rescue.
BISON TIME!!
Right back in this mofo, mofos!
Whoo-hoo!
Gave it a ride.
We got ourselves a game here, folks.
Hey, Cabrerra, the bench is over there. Get on it.
I wonder how sick this guy gets from being called Brando, especially with Inge batting behind him.
*Brandon
Wow, sawed-off shotgun level precision by Kuroda
Got a sawed off...bodies are hauled off.
Eldest daughter just got back from Hawaii and brought me a beer glass from Bubba Gump Shrimp.
It really works well. Even makes Corona drinkable.
Vin called Inge "Brad" during his second at-bat.
My buddy is in Loge 150 or so today. If anyone's at the game, feel free to go by and tell him to get his ass home and start the BBQ. I'll be at his house in an hour.
What the GAARP?
GAARP with a single?
Hell reports a cold front moving in.
I hesitate ever to doubt you, RB, but your Corona statement stretches my trust.
Who's available to run for GAARP? Manny?
Green?
Torre?
Rancho...Mannyendo?
MSB MODE!!!
We should have pinch run Mitch Poole.
ohpleaseohpleaseohplease
Home at last!
Bases Loaded! Who is up? You know.
Man-cho Ardiendo!

WTF?
First-pitch swinging I KNEW IT.
Well...
...there that was.
"Talk about the air coming out of the balloon." -Vin
"Talk about the air coming out of the balloon." -Me
Shucks
Crap, wasted chance
We had already reached our old man hit limit for that inning.
Well that didn't last long.
Dodgers don't take advantage of a GA hit. Now they will have to wait 30 abs for another.
No sixth win for Hiro. But at least he gets a quality start.
Seems like mannys MO in those situations is to jump on
the first pitch. It works occasionally. Oh well.
Josh
love the idea of MLB showing the NLDS game with Lima. One of my favorite memories at the Ravine.
DB,
The power of this glass is amazing. It can't get Manny to lay off the first pitch, though.
Oakland just took a 1-0 lead over SF. Man their hitting seems worse than last year.
Shaggy solves the mystery of the crouching Tigers.
Bleeding Gums Murphy?
A korg triton? Come on man Kurzweil all the way.
Top of the order. Time to get this done.
All right, let's do this!
Holy crap. Take a pitch.
Mr. F:
I ran your post through Google Translator. Now I get it.
Still the worst GBA in a long time.
Ah crap
Thanks a pantload, Belli.
Man. Belli sure can give up a HR ball.
We may be playing with house money right now but I want more house money!!!
Gonna have to step it up in the DSB inning.
Lead off walk. Facing a pitcher with the last name Perry during DSB inning. Good vibes.
Nevermind GA up.
That 4th run was a killer, but we can still get it done. #KarinaFaith
(doing my best karina imitation)
Well this will make the comeback more exciting.
Wha!?
Thanks a pantload, Belli2.
Oh COME ON.
God, Seattle is terrible, too
At the very least this game has served as a bridge to the laker game.
Thanks for nothing, shitty mariners.
Dontrelle Willis is about to bury us.
DSBG just Tweeted:
"R.I.P. Lima Time. You will be missed."
We've been putting the ball in play, but it ain't finding it's way through.
A pinch-hitting pitcher who looks like Howard Stern's Beetlejuice.
I remember when Dontrelle tore a hole through the NL East. He and Milton had similar problems - though Dontrelle only took his problems out on his ERA.
Well this is starting to get away from the Dodgers.
DFA Sherrill.
And fire Torre while you're at it.
Damn Sherrill is going from trade bait to non tender fast.
Shit, stick a fork in it.
Sherill is useless.
I sat down to a 3-2 game.
Wot happened?
We only need one guy with two consecutive Rs in their name anyways.
Oh I hate this Jose.
We're screwed. Two outta three ain't bad though.
Didn't Valverde hurt his ankle last year after a save celebration against us?
Okay, now we just need two more singles and then a homer.
Well that sums up our day.
Damn. What's that like 5 double plays?
Back to second but ahead of the Giants.
That's a fitting end to a shitty game
To top it off I get to listen to chris meyers on the post game.
I hope he isn't the permanent host.
PGT up.
