Thanks to Steve Dittmore for sending us this link:
Back to back: Albert Pujols tops SN's top 50 MLB players list (SportingNews.com)
Quoth Messr. Dittmore:
For our collective debate, here is [Wednesday's] release of the top 50 players in MLB. Somehow, Triple Crown leader Ethier is 30th (behind Kemp at 26th) and Matt Holliday at 28. Really? Matt Holliday?Anyway, Manny still nets 43rd on the list, but that is down 39 slots from last year.
The release is flawed in that it does not say when the ballots were cast.
Like Power Rankings, these types of lists serve no purpose other than to rile folks up. Derek Jeter only fourth? HERESY. Personally, I'm just glad three Dodgers made the cut.

Derek Jeter 1-50
Ely #51
I hope Ely's still in the rotation for the Yankees series so he can strike out Jeter and make Twitter implode.
Happy Birthday Dusty. If I could I would happily buy you a beer and a dog at the game
@Josh S - I am with you on that. But exploding Twitter isn't that hard. I think they are worried about some sun spots that are expected at the end of the month
Cheers, FB! I'll buy myself a beer and a dog and you can just owe me. ;-)
You mean Twitter would explode like Blogger the past two weeks?
I'm wasting time this morning looking at the Google Earth 3D model of Dodger Stadium. My favorite part is the banner recreations on the outside that are a touch outdated.
Takshi Saito! Brad Penny! Derek Lowe! Olmedo Saenz! Yhency Brazoban! Nomar! Wilson Betemit! Brett Tomko! Jeff Kent! (With no name for some reason.)
Thankfully, Chad, Dre, JMart, and Furcal are on there too.
Tomko! Watch your language, Josh.
If you REALLY want to waste time, go to Google's main site and play Pac-Man to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release.
Bless you, bless you, bless you, Google.*
*Except for that Blogger thing.
I miss our old boy Saenz. I saw someone with a Saenz jersey the other night, in fact.
This is just freaky:

@Josh - I was checking out the Google Earth Dodger Stadium experience as well. I enjoy that they gave virtual depth to the gas station in center field but left the "Team Store" tents flat as virtual pancakes behind the pavilions.
I wish they would have superimposed a photo of Vin calling the game in the press box, though.
Happy birthday Dusty!
And they should have put Carrol in the Boba Fett image. The eye slit might be wide enough to let him see directly in front of him.
Thanks, Jason! Send me a pic of a posh bar when you get the chance.
I would just make myself crazy(er) with this, wouldn't I?

Just saw Steve Sax hit a 3 run Bomb for the Yankees against the Royals. Knocked in Deion Sanders and Roberto Kelly. Don Mattingly on deck with Matt Nokes in the hole. Ah the good ole days
Dusty, I don't have any posh bar pics available so I'll give you your choice of:
Beer vending machine in Kyoto, Japan
Roaming beer vendor at a Tokyo Swallows game
The majestically lit contents of the minibar at the Park Hyatt Tokyo
The brew kettles at Red Hook
Excellent stuff, Jason!
I can't help but think I should drink Red Hook ESB tonight since it's ESB night.
Take 2 and action:
Oh how I miss beer vending machines and my whiskey bottle being held for me at the bar.
I can't wait to see Ely tomorrow!!
