Andre Ethier gets a one-out, GRAND SLAM home run, his sixth walk-off home run, his 11th walkoff hit of his career and second this season, and the Dodgers win the game in the bottom of the ninth. Sure, Broxton blew the save in the bottom of the ninth, screwing John Ely out of a well-deserved win (and rare Dodgers quality start) by giving up a 3-1 lead. And maybe the Dodgers scored two runs on an Brewers error. But watching Andre Ethier remain poised and locked and loaded in that pressure situation was just beautiful, and Vin's call was poetry.
Dodgers salvage the last game of the series against the Brewers, and now need to rest up before the weekend series with the Rockies.

If this doesn't get Andre on next week's (or maybe this week's if we're lucky) This Week in Baseball, then nothing will.
Mr LA SF: why would Andre get on TWIB? He doesn't play for the Yankess or BoSox.
defies all explanation.
The only excellence we can count on with this team right now: Vin and Andre.
Never seen anything like it and to add to it his success drives Oakland fans up the wall.
That is why you don't trade your top hitting prospect for a veteran. What.... Who is Paul Konerko?
Konerko...Konerko...
He hung out with He-Man, right?
That credit score thing is lame.
Yeah wasn't he the guy who knocked down doors with his head?
How do you top it?
Milton Bradley for Andre
Best Colletti move
I think I see the brewers with their luggage walkig across the field. Is that how they get to the bus?
@Paul - Yes. It is.
Jason- Don't forget Antonio Perez. He was the key cog that swayed Billy Beane, I'm sure.
And of course one good Colletti move shouldn't overshadow the dozens of awful, truly horrific moves he's made.
@KempKershaw - True. But Perez isn't haiku worthy. Wonder if we could now trade Ned for Antonio Perez to complete the cycle?
@Sax - Your headline has My Sharona stuck in my head. At least we know Andre is not just a one hit wonder.
A friend of mine hates broxton for some reason, mainly his ineffectiveness against philly. i constantly argue on his behalf but she's never swayed. today's game will only cement her misunderstanding of his talent. It's one thing to hate a guy, but don't say he sucks when he's one of the best.
To be fair, Brox does seem to walk the tightrope more than you'd expect a 300-lb man to do, but whaddyagonnado? He's the least of our problems.
Insomnia alert.
I keep coming back to check that look on Hawkins' face. Still funny.
Right there with you, Mr. C.
Was the look on Hawkins' face more priceless than the look on Zito's face when that kid blew his win a few weeks ago?
We need an image gallery with these astonished faces.
@Dusty
I think I've got a weekend project ahead of me...right after I get to the photo you sent me, of course!
That reminds me...I need to work on my SoSG assignment today.
give that man a triplecrown!!!
Jason-
I did not even
realize it was a haiku,
a nice job by you.
