Clayton Kershaw (1-1, 3.07) vs. Chris Narveson (1-0, 6.60).
COMMENTS: Nothing like a little home cooking to get us back in order. Following our fifth straight road series loss, the Dodgers came back and beat the vaunted Pittsburgh Pirates, 1979 World Series champions, three games to one--marking our third home series victory in three series. But before we get all warm and toasty in our belly, having beaten a team that hasn't had a winning record since the three-division realignment, let's focus on the dish that's been served to us today: a three-game series with Milwaukee.
We're going to need Xavier Paul, 3-for-9 with four runs scored in his two games batting leadoff, to keep setting the table for us. We'll need Kershaw to make sure his fastballs are poppin' fresh. And we'll need to make sure Larry Bowa doesn't get too salty watching the umps' calls this evening (okay, that was a stretch). Otherwise, Dodger fans will be clamoring for Ned to get back to the hot stove (which was not all that hot this winter).
But I'm hopeful. After all, isn't this piping-hot home cooking exactly what we'd want, to complement an ice-cold (10-15 record / fourth place in the NL Central) Brew? (Or you could make it a picnic, and eat dinner while sitting on your This Is My Town Fleece Blanket, given away tonight to the first 50K fans.)
(This thread also serves as the GameThread for Lakers vs. Utah Game 2 (7.30p tip), which according to StubHub may be a necessary game for the series tonight. Apparently, the Lakers weren't able to win the four-game series in one game. So, go Lakers!)

Heh. .200. It's funny because it's true.
Dare we call it the Russell 200?
Hey, who is that pitcher over in the Milwaukee dugout? Oh yeah, Randy Wolf. Former Dodger. With a 3.80 ERA, averaging six innings a start.
Nah, we don't need him, with this staff.
@Karina
That's sad but kinda funny re your borthday weekend.
We play Detroit over my birthday weekend so I have lowered expectations.
Russell Martin can't even outrun Prince Fielder. Yikes.
Andre gets his first hit of the game
if you just took that 9 run inning out we would be right in this.
The little things in baseball make a big difference.
Brewers announcers are bagging on Colletti.
Nice
Explain the bagging, Paul.
Y'know, for curiosity's sake.
@Steve Sax it really broke my heart when the Dodgers let him go .
Are they playing Herbie Hancock at the Stadium?
@Dusty Baker you know there's no way Cabrera and Sr. Ordoñez can hit the Dodgers pitchers staff.
LONEY!!!
King James in play (runs)
King James homered at home !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh just that it is funny that Ned was talking about how talented Kemp is during spring training blah blah cheese beer brats, bucks....Now he (Ned) is critizing him after publicly after three weeks...blah blah burp, beer bucks.
Whacking day for Loney...wow.
switch "publicly" and "after"
Rats I thought there was going to be a rally herbie tradition.
Nice shot James.
Oh well, at least James Loney was freed a bit
Loney gives hope!
Haha, just kidding.
Jazz Herbie or Rockit Herbie?
Now all we need is a Hoffman appearance and we've got a shot at this.
Lakers hanging on to a 9-point lead w little over 7 mins left.
COL and SD tied @ 2 in the 9th.
Time to do the Monster mash.
The Giants are giving away bobbleheads...one night Willie Mays "the catch" ...another night Lucy from Peanuts.
Down to 4 pt lead for Lakers. Typical late crap. Today isn't such a great day. First I didn't get to post the lineup, then Kershaw's performance, now another late Lakers meltdown.
Hurry up, bedtime.
Are they going to dress Lucy with a Giants uniform?
It's time for the Dodgers comeback
Coffey talk time.

Is it me, or does the 9th always seem to come down to the bottom of the order?
Carroll reached out and got a shitty outside low pitch and hit a lame dribbler.
