A year ago, Dodger Thoughts moved from the now-defunct Baseball Toaster to the LA Times. Jon Weisman gained new readers, but he also gained the headaches associated with the Times' clunky commenting interface.
Now Jon is shufflin' on again, this time taking DT to ESPNLosAngeles.com, which has already snagged Tony Jackson as their Dodgers beat writer. (Also landing at ESPNLosAngeles: J.A. Adande (formerly of the LA Times), the Bros. Kamenetzky (formerly of the Times' Lakers blog), Ramona Shelburne (formerly of the Daily News) and Arash Markazi (formerly of SI.com)).
Congratulations, Jon, on the latest leg of your adventure. We look forward to seeing you in your new digs — and surmising who the next LA Times Dodger blogger will be. Guess away!

Great question about who will take over the LAT's coverage of the team. I wonder if they'll go with someone already in-house from the print side this time around...

Fewer and fewer reasons to look at the LA Times sports site.
DB, you should see the print version. It's basically the LA Times Cars section, with some sports wedged in there to break up the few adverts.

I actually do subscribe to the LAT print version. I used to be a big fan of that paper, claiming it was unsung in a sea of Least Coast-centric print media like NYT and WSJ. Now, I can't make that claim. I consistently find spelling and grammar errors in not only articles but headlines. I find stories that begin and then are not continued anywhere else, or anywhere else logical. Pathetic. And the writing in the sports section has dropped off a cliff since Murray. Won't take the time or mental resources necessary to read Simers or Plaschke (who, rumor has it, wears argyle); in fact they ward me off the whole section almost daily, contrary to print media models that hold that controversial writers - like em or hate em - garner readership.
HAH-hah, your medium is dying!

That's just a fad, like Facebook was.
Re: Link Within widget--I admit, I greenlit this widget (drinking with the SoSG IT department last night, what can you say). But its ability to select relevant posts is really poor (or, our degree of entropy is so pronounced on this blog, that the widget can't keep up).
For example, I don't know what Noah Lowry has to do with the Dalmatians canon. Except for the fact that both have spotty pasts.

I can't see the "You'll also like" widget thingy working given that if you read this blog, you will probably like most every other post as well. It's like: If you liked reading about Dodgers players, you might also like reading about other Dodgers players!
...and Dalmatians. And Tanya Roberts. And deltalina and flo. And Nicky Whelan, Mr. Mister and Barney Miller references, Hulk Hogan, and Noah Lowry. Oh, and the Dodgers.
What if this widget came up with the oxymoron, "If you liked Deltalina, you might also like Flo"? Would the universe just collapse on itself?
