Sorry for the stark PGT, but I'm in a Turkish prison and my iPhone is about to run out of juice. But when Rafael Furcal and Matt Kemp each have multi-hit games atop the lineup, Manny Ramirez has a three-hit night just for Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports, and Russell Martin gets a game-breaking grand slam in the sixth, there's not much about which to complain. Even for me. Dodgers take the first of four against the Cubs.

I'm sure your last sentence meant first of four in a row, and not first of four games!
I don't know about you guys but I really, really needed that.
Here's to another great game tomorrow night.
too bad Weaver couldn't get a win.
mad props to him.
I said it in the game thread. those back-to-back K's were the game
mad, mad props to dreamweaver. they're talking about his contributions on post-game radio. his work has been crucial this season in spot starts and tough relief work.
jmart bobble in a place of honour on my fireplace mantle right now.
Dodgers.com headline:
"Martin slams Cubs as Dodgers hold ground"
I love that phrase, "...Dodgers hold ground." Exactly. I know it's just one game, but boy did we need it. Dodgers hold ground, indeed.
Excellent night at the ravine. Good game, good crowd, and good win..
good work out there, customer.
oh, god. someone just called in and said dodgers should look at livian hernandez.
we need a brady bill type law that makes people wait five days before they have a managerial idea for the dodgers and express it over the airwaves.
Livan Hernandez?
I'd rather start Loretta
i'd rather start loretta and use abreu as a closer.
Even Vinny got excited when Russ crushed that ball.
nice being there tonight
awesome atmosphere
See, told ya. The Cubbies love us.
Tim Brown is a douche.
