Sounds Baroque. I'd guess Handel, but I'm shooting from the hip.
except that it's solo violin and has a lot of counterpoint that doesn't sound Handel-y. So I'm thinking a JS Bach violin partita; let me look a bit...
got it. it's the Gavotte from Bach's Partita No. 3 in E major. sounds like maybe the same recording from this performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vah_ZtBw_8c
this place never ceases to amaze!
FP,
Well played.
T.C. Boyle wrote a book titled "Water Music" a while back, I thought the music selection might have been playing off of that, at first.
@Mr. C:
Like my ol' pappy used to say,
"If it ain't Baroque, don't fix it."
@ Felix Pardalis, I am in total awe. Well played, indeed.
Thank you, classy readers!
@rbnlaw,
They really knew how to handel their wordplay bach in your pappy's day.
Nice. (pronounced like the French city)
Oh that's totally the Gavotte from Bach's Partita No. 3 in E major.
Ah, I didn't see FP already answered.
