Post-Game 73 Thread: Extra Painful

WHITE SOX 6, DODGERS 5 (13)

Chad Billingsley didn't have his best stuff today, yet still managed to hold the White Sox hitless over the first four innings. But it all fell apart in the sixth, when fan-favorite A.J. Pierzynski hit a full-count go-ahead three-run homer. Billingsley ended up with three strikeouts over 107 pitches, only escaping the loss when Casey Blake knocked in Orlando Hudson to tie the game in the seventh. (Joe Torre sent the runner on the play, neatly avoiding the inning-ending double play.)

The bats of both teams snoozed until the thirteenth, when Scott Podsednik singled in the winning run off Jeff Weaver, in his third inning of relief. So the Dodgers' series winning streaks against the AL and in June come to a crashing halt as they are again in a position to lose three straight for the first time this year.

Mariners come into town tomorrow. Dodger fans, you have our permission to take the rest of the day off to recuperate.

The upside, if you want to call it that, is that no one will hear about the loss on the news tonight.

Makes me think of that "I Love Lucy" episode where Ricky did a sketch as a matador.

Rubio is falling. I don't think he will get passed the wolves though.

I just realized how much this week sucks: Ed, Farrah, and now Michael

Wow, the T-Wolves just picked Back2back point-guards. Must be a trade in the works.

You could hear the boos from the Knicks fans.

I feel bad for whoever the knicks pick now. They will be booed.

The brandon Jennings experiment worked! Expect more players to circumvent college.

NYers chant overrated when indiana picks Hansbrough.

Stay classy NY,

That was pretty mean of the fans, I have to say.

So far, only one local boy has been drafted. This does not make me a happy LA Sports Fan.

One more year at UCLA would not have killed Jrue. One year in Italy would have made him a top 5 pick.

It's a good pick for the NYK.

I think Cleveland made a mistake trading for Shaq.

Addition by subtraction for Phoenix.
