This game has brought some good news:

We can start talking about Ethier overcoming the slump, Wade was absolutely wonderful and we enjoyed fine defense. It was dreadful the lack of clutch, but no one is perfect.

Also, from the four games they've won this week, three of them were walk-offs, they're spoiling us.

I forgot to mention Kuroda has proven he's healthy and he can help this team a lot.

Any victory over the Phillies is a good victory.

Who says the Dodgers don't hit homers?

And two of them were hit just out of the reach of Werth and Victorino, making them all the sweeter.

SQUEETHIER!

Steve Sax said...

I don't get "squeethier". Explain me, please.

It's a Dodger Thoughts thing. sporky, a DT commenter always said "squee" as a way of expressing jubilation. So jubilation caused by Ethier = squee + Ethier = Squeethier.

I like the part where we hit the ball over the outfield fence and score runs. Is that legal? I may need to check the MLB rules.

Again, I watch 90% of a game and see wasted opportunities. Once I go to the car to listen, good things happen.
This time, I was in the store when Ethier hit the game-winner. I can't keep doing this for the team.

US leading Honduras 2-1 at the 84th minute.

2-1 87th minute. Dempsey just got mugged in the corner; no call.

Bornstein taken down; free kick USA

Howard with an amazing save. 90th minute. 4 minutes of stoppage time added.

Full time: USA 2 Honduras 1.
USA solidifies their position in World Cup qualifying.

Dodgers still undefeated in FOX games at home. A perfect 3-0.

I was at the game today and it was amazing! Aside from the free beer and dodger dogs, today's game was so much fun to watch! I'm super excited to see that Kuroda pitched well again and that the Dodgers came from behind to win again. These guys don't know how to quit!

RBN: Don't forget that Chile won today, too. 2-0.

Quad, how does one get in on this free beer and dogs business? Is it one of those you have to know someone who knows someone deals?

I too would like to learn of the source of "free beer and dogs".

MLASF,
No shit. How does the common man score such booty?

Neebs,
Good for Chile. El Salvador scored a big win vs. Mexico as well. Mexico in danger of not qualifying for S. Africa 2010.

Hey Sax,
I just read "Requiem" and loved it. The extended metaphor is absolutely perfect. I wish my English students could grasp that concept as well (yes, I teach English as well as chase ambulances. . .I multitask).

Fanerman et al, thanks for the recap on "squee". Consider me indoctrinated!

Rbnlaw, thanks a ton, appreciate the kind words!

Quad, now you gotta explain the free beer. I had free beer this afternoon as well, but sadly I was not in front of a tv to watch the dodgers (though I did rub it in to a giants fan who was there at the party).

Has Q7 explained the whole, "free beer and Dodger Dogs" thing yet?
