I Know Who I'm Voting For

In conjunction with MLB's All-Star voting, People magazine is holding an "All-Stars Among Us" contest in which fans vote for one of three community-oriented individuals representing each team. The finalists for each team will attend and be recognized at this year's All-Star Game.

Dodger Thoughts reader "Lex in the Dena" happens to know one of the Dodgers nominees, Gerardo Gomez, who is an advocate for the homeless around the world. Lex has written a tribute to his old friend; his story is well worth reading.

After you do that, go and vote for Gomez here!

That is a great story, but I want to read the other ones, too.

Hmmm...I agree fanerman. Gomez definitely deserves major kudos, but I'll resist the temptation to have my vote swayed based on who a Dodger Thoughts reader knows. But I do think he will win because Jason's and Barbara's initiatives are similar and thus they could split the vote.

Bottom line is they're all deserving. All I do with my free time is write limericks and make graphs.
