Hey everyone! Back from Veags with Mrs. Law. Funny thing about Vegas, it's hard to get a bar to show the game you want to see.Oh well, the booze was free (as long as I was gambling, and as long as I was gambling, I was losing, so really, no free booze. The Terry Fator show was really funny, but he never interrupted the show to give updates on the score of yesterday's game.
Welcome back, Rbnlaw. Next time, maybe try gambling near the sportsbook.
Pierre, LFFurcal, SSHudson, 2BBlake, 3BEthier, RFKemp, CFLoney, 1BMartin, CMITCH JONES!, DHBillingsley, P
Let's go Crash! Er, Mitch!
A bit of gamesmanship before a pitch is thrown?
That was a bs third strike.
Casey Blake thought so.
Are those the regular Angels' home uniforms?
Wide strike zone tonight, but at least both pitchers are getting it.
Wonderful double play!
BEE-YOO-TI-FUL 5-3-6 DP!
The angels have three different home unis. White, red, and they also wear vests. My roomates an angel fan, I swear.

Epale Orel and everyone!
NicJ, a roommate? Angels fan? Ugh.She had better be cute.
Saunders is dealing.
Maybe not! Kemps works the walk.
Ack, Kemp CS.
Betcha Loney doubles here now.
The Angels with a defensive gem of their own. Loney is sooooo slow.
Its gonna be one of those games
Haha it's not a girl. It's a guy. He is not a trader he has actually seen Nolan Ryan pitch. So I will tolerate it. It's alot easier since the angels are having a bad year so far.
King James is a giraffe, after all.
Seems like there is alot of dodgers fans there.
Fear the bison
Fear the Bison gun!
Respect Bison's arm!
Shoulda just plunked him instead.
Rancho Ardiendo for the Angels. No good there
The defense of both teams has been exquisite. Now, if the Dodgers win...
More web games than innings so far.
I want Jones to hit a HR tonight.
ONE DROP MODE with the clean knock to center. That is the Russ we know and love. And to join the band wagon...MITCH MODE.
I want Russell Martin to hit a HR tonight.Mitch now has an OBP of .666
Oh sure, pluck Crash. Reeeeeal cool, Saunders.
This is the kind of game kids playing in the little leagues should see.
Now THAT was a good situation to bunt in.
Here is a question. How does a LH pitcher known for his control plunk a RHB?
With Furkey at the plate and Martin at 3B, why not SQUEEZE?
Hokie Mode in trouble.
Rancho Ardiendo!Alireza, you think like good ol' beisbol caribe.
If O-Dog can crank one out to center at Dodger Stadium, he can send one to the rocks in Anaheim.
Ouch. Not a productive AB Orlando.
I really don't understand why guys swing at the first pitch when a pitcher is struggling. Make him throw a strike first!
Lets see what Beard Mode and his 1.027 OPS against LHP does.
Come on Raffy...ok, a walk. Rancho Ardiendo w/one out.O-dog, as wild as Saunders has been, why did you swing on the first pitch?
Erin - the book in Saunders is that he is big on throwing strike one. Swinging at it makes sense.
Most pitchers try to throw strike one. The point is, the bases are loaded, he just walked a guy, and he's thrown a lot of pitches in the inning. There is no harm in making him work for it.See what Blake's doing here? Hudson could have done the same thing.
Hokie in Trouble now.
Well. That's one way to get a cheap RBI Beard.
Erin - Blake got in an 0-2 hole and gutted that one out.
Dre should have taken that pitch, even if it was a K.
I understand how Blake's at-bat was. All I'm saying is that Hudson should have made the guy work, whether Saunders like the first pitch strike or not. Hudson never even got the chance to "gut out" in his at-bat because he was too aggressive.
I wish we could go POOF and trade Figgins for Pierre. I would even give Figgins Pierre's contract.
I would not be able to get over the way Figgins' first name is spelled. It drives me CRAZY.
Erin - I agree that O-Dog should have probably taken there. The pitch was a strike, but it was a pitcher's strike and was the kind of pitch that you should only swing at if you have 2 strikes or your name is Vladimir Guerrero.
Erin - LOL. Interestingly, it is part of his middle name.Desmond DeChone Figgins. All I know is that he is better at everything than Juan Pierre, who actually taught him how to hit left-handed.
Orel, the other day you were asking for venezuelan expressions. A run scored, product of a walk, is known as "caballito". I believe it's widely used in the Caribbean countries.
christ i hate walks
Figgy is in Chad's head.
Wow. That wasn't pretty.
So Figgins and Pierre have something else in common: unusual middle names.Pierre's is D'Vaughn.
Man Chad has filthy stuff. Gameday really separates the men from the Tomkos.
Erin - That's about it. Unlike Pierre, Figgins can throw, hit with authority and take a walk.
C'mon Chad. Hook him. No ill-placed fastballs to Hunter.
Figgy just showed some respect for Loney's arm there.
Exactly, Fred's Brim. I believe it is used because "caballito" might be putting someone on your shoulders, like grown ups do with kids.
Woah Chad. A 69 MPH curve with a 17" break? You Zack Greinke now?
Looks like Vlad won the battle with Chad.
For an update, the Gints lead the Rangers 3-0
haha i like it - it's either that or Carlos Lee's son
Caballito, I like it! Remind me again of the terms for full count?
LONEY!!!!Man, what a pretty swing that was.
James Loney only hits homers off lefties.
Damn. Russ just missed that one.
Did Blake DeWitt teach the Beard how to play defense or something?
Geoffrey! he doesn't wanna grow up!
Yeah, that is Mitch's MO.
BTW, this is as good a game as any for Russ to break out. He owns Saunders.
no reason to throw strikes to Mitch right now
Orel, there are several, most of them derived of the literal translation of the English expression: cuenta llena, cuenta maxima, en el hoyo (when referring to the pitcher)
That 4th pitch was a strike.
Chad better be careful here. A fastball down the pipe like he threw Izturis will get deposited by Napoli.
Chad isn't doing his GB rate any favors tonight, but he is getting the job done.
Bills should think about trying first pitch strikes next inning
"Orel, there are several, most of them derived of the literal translation of the English expression: cuenta llena, cuenta maxima, en el hoyo (when referring to the pitcher)"They all sound dirty.
The Dodgers have three walk-off caballitos this season.
Beast Mode is loose!
Holy smokes! Forkal HR!
Take that Saunders!
Anyone notice the quiet .792 OPS Furkey is putting up in June?
Yep. Hokie in trouble.
wow mlb.tv screwed me out of that one! attaboy Raffy!
The Manager That Got Away With the Tragic Illness better have a talk with his Lefty.
Watching the Angels feed is pretty funny - they keep trying to interview some radio host while the Dodgers get hit after hit.
I thought I just saw 3-1 for the Giants, looking over the shoulder of my friend who is watching the game via mlbtv on his laptop.I need to unplug my wireless router.
Roger Lodge on the Angels broadcast
Who is on the Angels broadcast right now? Is it Physioc trying to homer away the inning?
Fred's Brim - Anyone for a Blind Date?
It feels strange to have the lead at Angel Stadium.
Bison RBI here. Book it.
Here he is again.Seriously, I wish the Dodgers had this guy.
Figgins is ungetouttable.
Man, it is warm out tonight in the city.I'm sure it's worse behind the orange curtain.
Figgins is a menace when he is on. He is hitting .413 in June.
One Drop is heating up!
The Dodgers are defensively on fire tonight. Offensively too (relatively)!
ONE DROP MODE.Russ, even struggling with the bat, is still the best defensive catcher in baseball.
and Raffy! he's been a lot better defensively lately*knocks on wood*
Book that last comment. Better than any Molina, better than Pudge, better than Mauer.
Fred's Brim - Raffy's UZR-150 is 6.5. The big concern has been his O, not his D.Then again, UZR ranks O-Dog rather poorly, which is garbage.
Orel, i thought about you in the early morning today. I didn't sleep at all, because i went overboard with caffeine yesterday. The only thing that makes me sleep is watching tv, so i watched: About a boy, Love Actually and Bridget Jones, the edge of reason. I guess i had an OD of caffeine and Hugh Grant.Bad news i'm not sleepy yet.
I was at the game last year at the Ravine when Russ hit a homer off Saunders that sounded like it was shot out of a cannon. I would love to see that right now.
Russ with a nice rip there. straighten it out, kid!
I am glad to see Russ out there swinging more. He will get out of this.
Oh yeah. Mitch Jones is up again.
And Mitch Jones strikes out again.
i think so too. he wont be a dead spot in the lineup for much longer
Fred's Brim - It isn't like he hasn't had some offensive contribution. His OBP is still solid.
With Furcal looking promising at the plate, all we have to do is channel for 55 now...
Ladies and gentlemen, your AL MVP shall now strike out against your NL Cy Young winner.
Sax - Lets hope Furkey doesn't start throwing like you.
Unbook my last comment.
jeez Bills - over throw a little more, Russ is still able to catch those
Vlad is due, so I hope he saves it for Weaver.
Chad Billingsley owes a half run of ERA to Russell Martin.
"Orel, i thought about you in the early morning today."Stop right there. You just made my day!
Bills has no interest in throwing Vlad a fastball.
I was right. So he hung him a curve.
nice Casey - that could have been so much worse
Full extension by Blake! Too bad he couldn't turn it into an out.
Orel - I don't think DeWitt even turns that into an out.
Rivera is the tying run.
Orel - To make it worse, Rivera has a .998 OPS in June.
"Orel - I don't think DeWitt even turns that into an out."You're right, I'm being unappreciative.
4-6-3 would be nice here.
Sorry about the dupe comments there. I'm experimenting with the time-space continuum tonight.Orel, would you mind deleting for me?1 out and Angels at the corners.
Who would have thought you would see a game where Saunders has more Ks than Billingsley?
I think the starters are done after this inning.
christ - too many stupid walks
To think that without all this great defense we would be losing.
Saunders over 100 pitches now. Let's get to him.
Giants just went back up 5-4 on a Fred Lewis homer. Boo.
please no Bills this inning
ok good - cmon Brent - we need a good inning out of you
Aloha. The air is clean in Maui. The birds are chirping. I'm sunburned. And the Dodgers are coughing up leads.
Leach retires the pesky Figgins.
Maui! I'm jealous.
Delino is in DeMaui? Wow. Jealous, as well! Thanks for the cleanup on the dupe comments, Orel. Now my chase for 200 will be pure.4-4 tie, one out in the bottom of the seventh, Leach pitching to Abreu with the count full.
that's the 6th walk tonight
Mota is not good.I know we were fooled the last couple of games. But he is not good.
Guillermo is going to give up a three-run home run to Vlad here.
Ha, Angel Stadium has the beach ball plague too. Not just us!
Abreu at second, Hunter at first.Vlad GIDP!!!
Orel, your feed is about 10 seconds ahead of mine
Mota is gooder than you think.
or you are a faster typist
MBRCS Commercial sighting!!!
Fox announcer pronounces Loney as "Loony"
Kemp wisely decides not to try to stretch the single.
base hit for Kemp. 1 out
karina, still not sleepy in the eighth
Bobby Abreu looks like a wookie these days
"Fox announcer pronounces Loney as 'Loony' "Such disrespect!
Nice steal, but Loony Ks.
Kemp steals, that's good.Loney whiffs, that's bad.
Darren Oliver used to be so terrible.
Respect to Martin!
