HIROKIWATCH: NOW
Hiroki Kuroda (1-0, 1.59) vs. Billy Buckner (1-1, 7.16).
COMMENTS: Coming off a 5-2 roadtrip, the big news is the return of Kuroda, who won Opening Day and was slotted as our #1 pitcher before an oblique muscle strain sidelined him for the last two months. Kuroda's last start in A ball was not kind, but according to Josh Suchon, he was literally practicing pitches (i.e., only throwing a fastball for a full inning), so it probably isn't a good barometer of how he'll do today. Unless, of course, the gameplan is again to only throw the same pitch for a full inning. The Snakes might catch on by the fourth inning or so.
25-year old Buckner has only started two games this season, but he did face the Dodgers on April 11 in Arizona, where he was shelled for 5 ER, 2 BB, and 1 wild pitch over a short 0.2 IP. I'm expecting Buckner to be all over the place, in which case we won't expect to see the Hiro take a fall on this manic Monday.

no way this comeback happens. This is unbelievable.
3-2 Dodgers, scoring two in the ninth. Two out. Loretta up.
Delino's here in the nick of time. Have no fear.

Pierre should go to second.
BEAST.
Here's hoping Pena's command loses something now
2-0 to Loretta.
Mark, take this next pitch please.
Wow, it looks like a Petco-sized crowd.
DAMN LORETTA!!!!!!!
Loretta doesn't take Sax's advice.
Loretta did not take the pitch.
Insteaad, he flies to left to end the game.
That's the extent of Loretta's power.
Bah.
Yeah. Not good.
And the Delino is gone. Sorry I couldn't be more help
im going back to being negative
And that's why you don't make five wild pitches in a game.
(arm falls off)
That was a depressing end. It makes me miss Beard Mode even more.
Eh, we lose no ground to the Pods.
"The Curse of the Delino"
That extra run really hurt.
and thats why you dont wait till the last inning to score runs

Dammit, I hate it when the broadcasters use the whole "the team got in really late [in this case 3.30a], and that's why they lost."
They don't have to show up until mid-afternoon. They can sleep for 12 hours. Give me a break.
Steve Lyons sounds like he had one too many in Chi-town.
Steve Lyons sounds like Harvey Fierstein.
Someone please shoot Lyons tonight and put us out of our misery. He can't even speak. It sounds like he's underwater.
Lyons sounds as bad as our offense looks.
I normally like Lyons, but this is not good.

Don't ruin the Post-Game Thread!
Steve, you have a point there. Lots of people wish they had 12 hours of recovery 'till next day to work.

Until the Post-Game Thread is up, I'm venting here.
In fact, I'm a venti macchiatto.
Jay Leno never should have retired
And, my wireless repeater just crapped out back there in the eighth

You were faster than me on that one, Steve.
Steve, remember they are still the best record on the MLB.
I just saw Dr. Ruth on channel 7. Better than Lyons, that's for damn sure.
why did vin have to point out earlier that the dodgers havent had a winning june since 2003
agree, now their record is 0 for June.
It's not Vin's fault. He's heavenly.
im not blaming him, he just always has to rain on the parade. I still love him though
Post-Game Thread up.
