At Game Recap: Dodgers vs Indians

Woohoo! The first game of the season at Dodger Stadium. Not a whole bunch of fans showed up for this exhibition game, but man, was it great to be back. The sights, smells, and the familiar faces were so welcome after a long cold winter. Speaking of cold, it was pretty chilly last night and without the large crowd around us for body warmth, I had to hunker down with the layers.

We arrived fairly early and walked around the park. I did notice that they laid new pavement a down at the Sunset entrance, however it stops around the inner circle (I guess that's when the divorce money kicked in). The atmosphere felt like an opening day without the crowds. All of the workers were really nice and glad to see everyone come out to the park. We bought our grilled hotdogs and settled into our seats. I must say that the first bite of the Dodger dog was DELICIOUS. And actually the Gordan Biersch garlic fries were pretty tasty as they didn't smother them in garlic and oil like they used to do.

You guys probably know what happened during the game, but I must say that our defense looked pretty sloppy. I love DeWitt as the 2nd baseman, but on a couple of the double plays, he looked shaky. It seems like his arm strength or the positioning of his feet on the DP isn't quite there yet. Granted, most of those errors occurred when the starters were out of the game, but still, we need to improve on that aspect come the start of the season. Also, I don't know when to sound the panic alarm for George Flat Breezy, but he was off again. I would like to chalk it up to him always having a bad spring and hope that his track record proves right. Ortiz was nails (we need a nickname for him as I predict a lot of Ortiz sightings) and Tron actually didn't do that poorly but was handcuffed by all of those errors. Finally, it was nice to see a knuckleballer throw at the stadium. Martin had some trouble with some of the pitches, but seeing someone throw at the speed of 72 mph was pretty interesting.

My one complaint about an exhibition game is that it seemed that the concession stands were also in exhibition mode. Most of the stands were only half staffed so the lines were pretty long. I got up to get some food, but after standing in line for 10 minutes and not moving, I went back to my seat. But overall, it was great to get back to the stadium, see the boys in blue, and cheer for the Dodgers. Enjoy the pictures below! And, as always, GO BLUE!!!

New pavement to welcome us...

A new season = A new promotion schedule. Get your bobblehead tickets yet?

Yum!

My TMZ moment. The Lakers have Jack, we have Todd. It takes Diff'rent Strokes to move the world!

What might be right for you, might not be right for some.

Nice recap AC! Hope you, and Blake DeWitt's arm, have thawed out a bit.

Orlando Hudson's photo is still up as well. Got a nice picture of it for evidence.

AC: Should you give up? Or should you just go chasing pavements? Even if, they lead nowhere?

Do we have enough posts for a Diff'rent Strokes label yet?

And looking closely at the 2010 Promotions Schedule photo: I'll be there June 13 for the "Vma Los Dodgers Day"!
