Hope this is a good confidence boost for Chad. He pitched well, but he had flashes of being even better.
(well, aren't I mister sunshine)
Honeycutt needs to figure out how to get Kershaw and Billingsley to not walk so many batters. Its going to be ugly this year after all the inflated pitch counts knowing that there are all these Ortiz's in the bullpen. 4 walks in less than 6 IP from Buzzsaw is unacceptable. Kershaw walked the pitcher TWICE yesterday!
ahh sweet relief
i feel like I ate a Double Down and survived
I'll take the W. And I'll have a skip in my step all the day long.
However, as HLACK intimated, I can't see how a season's worth of solid but high pitch count, repeated getting in and out of jams, and barely scratching 5 innings and change will bring us consistent pitching (and winning) over 159 more games.
@HLACK
Agreed, but I'm pleased even if the process is not instantaneous. If Chadley walks a guy but gets back on the horse and doesn't completely lose his shit, I count that as progress.
Yeah, too many walks (guess that isn't changing), but Bills pitched himself out of some tough jams.
I saw that Ethier is day to day with an ankle injury. Didn't sound serious. He might miss a game of the Marlins series.
Ronnie Belliard: LA's answer to Juan Uribe!!!
Attendance: 9,352.
You look at those video highlights on mlb.com, and you wonder how they go the 9 and the 3 digits.
I feel better already. If they can take two out of three in Florida it will end up a solid 3-3 road trip with two east coast road series out of the way already!
Inside Pirates? Ewww...
Thank goodness for the win. I don't know how long I could have gone with MRPATDRN.
Seems there were some good seats still available.
