Kung Fu Panda
Josh Beckett (6-5, 2.52) vs. Aaron Harang (9-6, 3.31)
If there's anything that SoSG has done over the years, it's beat a dead horse using memes and superstition. You wouldn't have it any other way. Thus, we'll look to continue the burger-themed GT what brung us on our current successful run.
By way of getting shellacked by the Pie Rats yesterday, Gnats are 2 games back and looking like they're fading fast, having lost five games in a row, with little hope to ketchup. They mustard been crazy to think Dan Uggla was the person to solve their defensive problems.
The pitching from the front three Dodger starters has been nothing short of epic, but the Noffense is always a threat to rear its head, so this home stand will be an important test. We're counting on Big Mac to help the Dodger hitters with the second part of that.
Either way, landing in Dodger fans' Happy Meals tonight will be a classic give-away:

VINNY BACK FOR 2015!!!
Announcement just made at the Yard. Vinny back for next season and Dodger Stadium rocked!!
Anyone who didn't see announcement needs to catch it somewhere. They did it over the PA as breaking news, then had Ryu give the news in Korean, then Yasiel in Spanish and finally JT in English then cut to Vinny and Sandy in the booth. Teary eyes time!!
That is awesome.
Kemp bomb!
In all the excitement Matty hits a 2 run homer. Boys up 2-1 in 2nd.
Dodgers have fewest HRs in July in the NL, but Kemp nails one there!
2-1 LA
Nice bunt.
Full-swing variety.
Braves retake the lead on a Freddie Freeloader 2-run HR
And, Beckett gives it right back. 3-2 ATL.
Puig opens up the bottom of the third with a double
Popout, groundout, strikeout wastes the chance. Hope Vin isn't reconsidering his decision
Perez was warming up. WTF.
Now Wright.
Love the Vin announcement, but that video was hella dorky. I'm sure it worked better on Dodgervision than on my phone, though.
Hella dorky? Is that like Hello Kitty?
RBIs by AGon & Crawdaddy tie it up!
Kemp!!
2 2-run homers for Kemp. This is what happens when you threaten to trade someone.
I blink and now it's a 7-4 lead. I think I'll blink again
7-4 Dodgers through 7
@Gnomes 8:59p: "hella"?
You going Bay Area style on us now?
Jeez, Howell, settle down here
Phew, Jansen gets us out of the eighth inning (two on, two out; gets Justin Upton to fly out to Kemp).
7-4 through 7.5 innings
Final in SF: PIT 3, SF 1
Milwaukee finds a bad time to play interleague in Tampa; loses 5-1 to the Rays
Come on, AGon
3-2 count to AGon
Gonzalez with another double! Dee Gordon scores, 8-4 Dodgers
Dry your tears! Wendy's pretzel bacon cheeseburger is back!
(mlb.com ad)
Gattis Ks for out #1 in the ninth
Chris JOhnson, strikeout on a foul tip for out #2
win!
That pretzel bacon cheeseburger is awful.
At the Yard, the "hella dorky" video worked. Not because it wasn't, well dorky, but because it was so unexpected and no one knew what was going on. My emotions ranged from "Did something bad happen in the world like a bomb going off in LA?" to "Are they announcing a blockbuster trade?" and then as the faux video conference became evident, wondering where they were going with it. So the buildup was great, the wow factor was there, the crowd went absolutely nutso, and even the Barves players who had taken the field paused to clap and look up and acknowledge Vinny standing in the booth. Overall, a magical experience.
Actual hella dorky: that weird talking fox and living tree and other odd super heroes upcoming movie you've been fawning over, Nomo!
