DODGERS 2, BRAVES 1
After one eats a Carl's Jr. "$6.00 Burger," the bathroom may need to be swept like the Dodgers just swept the Barves, which they did for the first time at Chavez Ravine since 1990 on their way to winning their sixth game in a row. Clayton Kershaw had a gutty complete game performance (his second straight), scattering nine hits and only allowing one run, while getting into some pockets of trouble along the way (Braves went 1-for-4 with RISP). Kid K only allowed a cheapie run in the ninth inning (a call so close at first that it led to an official review that elongated the game by about five minutes, before he got Evan Gattis to hit into a force at second for the final out). He moves to 13-2 on the season with a Major League-leading 1.71 ERA.
A-Gon and Puig went 2-3 each to provide the needed offense (Puig hit his 13th home run); it wasn't the offensive burst we've seen recently from the whole lineup, but as a wise man once said, we'll take it.
A lot of trades went down today, and the Dodgers were not a part of any of them. SoSG editorial board is okay with that, as no one thinks we should over pay for players, especially if they're just rentals. The same way SoSG editorial board would never over pay for a burger that ended up being just a rental, so to speak.
